Jhonny Tuffister I get the second part, but what do you mean by taste in music? I wasn't aware that delivery boys had particular tastes in music based on time periods.
The shot of the Pizza Planet truck zooming down the road at 1:33 looks almost like stop-motion animation, like the 80s Gumby episodes. Then again, this is when CGI animation was pretty new.
MarioSonic2010 If you have the CD or the file on your computer, you should share it with us by making a video. Slap the track on a static image in Windows Movie Maker like I would, add some text/titles, and link it here.
Yes, the Dinoco gas station first appeared in Toy Story (1995) as the gas station that Andy's mom, the big rig driver, and the Pizza Planet truck driver all stop at. Dinoco was seen in the background in Toy Story 2 (1999), and again in Cars (2006) as The King's sponsor.
@MushroomBoy64: It wasn't important to him. As a toy, Woody knows he doesn't need (nor should a toy wear) a seat belt. Therefore, the seatbelt was irrelevant to Woody, who was focusing on the "sit in front" thing Buzz was doing. Woody was privately concerned that the driver would see Buzz sitting there, strapped in. A second later, he's thinking "Why did I get in the back of the truck?"
please don't tell me I'm the only kid who used to sit in the back seat of their parents car an reenact Woody's tossing and turning across Sharp curves lol hahaha good times
@MushroomBoy64: He was calling Buzz an idiot for sitting in the "cockpit", or the front seat. He wasn't really paying attention to the fact that Buzz put his seatbelt on, as any good Space Ranger should. (They teach that at Star Command, I'm sure.)
I've answered this already. Because that's the part of the film that some people once thought that the truck appeared in. One website had a screenshot of the film of the 1 frame where the camera is panning quickly, and the shape of a freeway overpass and the road beneath it resembles the shape of the rear window in the hatchback, as if the camera was inside the truck bed. When I made this thing in high school years ago, I wanted to show that whole scene to illustrate that the truck isn't there.
Has anybody else noticed that every single pickup truck in Toy Story is a "Toyota Pickup/Hilux"? Probably easier to animate the same truck over and over again, but definitely a great choice!
Pixar (or Disney, at a theme park) really ought to recreate the Pizza Planet truck. It would be a huge hit, just like the "real" WALL-E that roamed Disney parks recently.
@thedragonflys: Not exactly Nemo (the character), but it is a Clownfish, specifically referencing Pixar's next film - Finding Nemo. That fish decoration on the wall is actually inside the trailer that Randall gets banished to. It's a wall inside the trailer, which for some reason has a closet inside it with a door shaped exactly like every other closet door in the world. Parked next to that trailer is the Pizza Planet truck, of course.
No, it's your problem. It has already been officially confirmed by Lee Unkrich and others that the Pizza Planet truck is not in The Incredibles. What you think is the truck is not the truck. You can not prove to anyone that you saw the truck in The Incredibles.
"In the movie 'Ratatouille', when Remy is running through someone's house (after being in the sewers), you can see the shadow of Dug, the dog from 'Up'." Yes, you're correct.
@UberNoob5130: "Dinoco", as a gas station, first appeared here in Toy Story. As an oil company, it later reappeared in Cars as the sponsor of Strip "The King" Weathers, a blue car made to look like Richard Petty's racing car.
You're right. It appears during Lotso's flashback story, where he and Daisy's other two toys ride on its back bumper and fall off outside Sunnyside Daycare.
2:29 - It's just some extra voice work to make Pizza Planet more believeable. According to IMDb, that's Debi Derryberry's voice (she also does Jimmy Neutron's voice).
@jonesha1994: They used different software back in 1995, and different rendering technology. This is also from the 2005 DVD, processed through video capture programs (in a high school video class), and back again. That's why it looks a bit blurry.
@mooveetraylaguy: In a recent interview/article on /Film ("slashfilm"), Tia Kratter (the namesake for the KRAT FM sticker on the truck) said that the truck will appear in Brave. See if you can find that /Film article!
@will2993: If it's yellow, you should get a plastic red and white rocket, scrape off the "TO" and "TA", (maybe some magnet Pizza Planet panels for the sides), and parade it around town. Or any combination of these. People would be looking for your truck more than VW Bugs.
@Theguywhojustcomment: Not there. I showed this particular scene from The Incredibles because some people used to assert (and may still do so, in error) that the PPT was in this scene. They said it was either the yellow car at the beginning, or the bridge overpass outline near the end. Lee Unkrich confirmed on his Twitter that the truck is not in The Incredibles.
@DogEatDogProductions: As I told @gizmo12355 , that music coming out of the truck's stereo is (I assume) just some incidental background music that Randy Newman created for this scene. Why is everybody having a fit over this? Films of all kinds have this kind of music not on the official soundtrack. "Cars" had the music where Doc Hudson goes once around Willy's Butte by himself.
@gizmo12355: Sorry - I don't know. As far as I know, it's something Randy Newman wrote that's not on the soundtrack, much like the music that plays in Cars when Doc Hudson runs a lap around Willey's Butte for the first time in a long time.
While I'll admit we never saw the truck leave, I don't think we ever saw it start to deliver gas. And that kind of thing usually happens during the day, anyway.
@TheDuuuuuuuuuuuuude: At 0:30, there's a truck that shows the Dinoco logo from Toy Story. Dinoco first appeared in Toy Story and again in Toy Story 2. Dinoco received a bigger role in Cars as the sponsor of Strip "The King" Weathers. The truck at 0:30 is a Dinoco truck refueling at a Dinoco gas station. Oh, hello fellow brony! /) That DVD isn't coming out until December 4th, and I don't have DVD ripping software anymore, nor do I want to get any. The contents of that DVD will be on RUclips shortly after the airing of those new Season 3 episodes, anyway, and three of its episodes already are. Just go check Equestria Daily.
@jack18l: I've already answered this question six times. Please search the comments for my answer, and because people keep pestering me about it, I'm going to put my answer in the video description.
I never said the truck wasn't a Toyota. I may have said that the owner's manual for the truck in Toy Story 2 calls it a "Gyoza", but I already know that it's a Toyota. In fact, there was a group of people a few months ago who completely converted a yellow Toyota Truck into the truck of this video and they drove it to Pixar Animation Studios.
Yeah. It's in pretty much every one of their films (except for The Incredibles), you just have to know where to look. Be on the lookout for the Truck in Toy Story 3 this summer!
@mermaidamp: I think it would be that specific grin there, and not just any grin, that John would like. I seem to remember someone on the commentary mentioning who animated that one sequence there, with Woody's grin.
@SuperCockism: A "Steve Zhan" search on IMDb reveals Steven Zhan, who was a "Gamestar" artist on Silent Hill: Origins in 2007. No person named Zhan is listed in Toy Story 1's credits. I think you mean Steve Zahn. He's an established voice actor, but he's not in TS1's credits, either. I only know him as the voice of Swampy the drummer on Phineas and Ferb.
Can't kill a Toyota Hilux Pickup. The 22R engines are near Bulletproof. Bet the truck would still be running today unless he got it in a wreak. BBC Top Gear did a episode on The Hilux Durability. 1970's through the Mid 80's I would say are the best Models. Though they stop making it in 1994 and started making the Tacoma in 95. Very easy engines to work on..
AKFGFan Actually to be honest, the R Series Engine has spanned over 22 version which the last one being this particular 22R that has a chain driven overhead cam. As far as i can say, Japanese cars are purr bulletproof made, they lasts forever than any GM or Ford pickups as you can show.
