I know depeche mode since 1983, and this song from the album Black Celebration, marked a lot the year 86, something innovative for the time. Good times for a band that lives at the head of my bed.

Good drummer but best drummer u ever heard? Wow with all do respect maybe u mean he is ur favorite ever bc saying that he is the best ever wen he couldn't carry Jon Bonhams water lol or Keith Moon or Charlie watts or Neil peart or Stewart Copeland lol see what I mean he's not even in the conversation of the first 100 drummers but u like him alot alot I think is better said or wat u meant. Bc that's kinda like saying Geno Smith is the best QB ever bc he's good now n has a fan base ppl REALLY like him but best ever ??
great performance. i feel like eigner could have gone for the electric snare in this one though. the acoustic snare that he uses in this doesnt have the same power that you hear in the 80s versions
Hmmm... this version doesn't have the grit that the previous live versions had. I mean why isn't the strands on the snare connected? The overall sound is sadly very dull :(

Если учитывать любовь Мартина к пшикалкам вместо жирного бита, то не исключено, что барабанщика на концертах сознательно выкручивают по звуку с подачи Мартина. Можно сравнить их первые туры с Кристианом и там он звучит гораздо убедительнее.

И я уж не говорю о том, что многие их классические песни вообще недопустимо исполнять с живыми ударными. Black Celebration, World in my eyes, enjoy the silence и т.д. - все эти песни очень сильно завязаны на электронных ударных, а живые барабаны просто рушат весь драйв и мощь первоисточника.
в 93 и сама стилистика альбома была немного сдвинута в сторону рока, в рамках того тура ударные звучали уместно. да и алан не выпендривался своими "фристаилами" - играл, как подобало ритму песне
