      Stuff like this is what makes the show so disappointing. Martin's books literally scream in the form of foreshadowing and literary clues that the squabbles between the great houses and men over lordships and who sits on what throne are completely insignificant compared to the exestential and lovecraftian threats being posed by the Others and Euron, and D&D were over here like "but bro.... The Iron Throne"

  • @matro2
    @matro2 9 месяцев назад +2

    The main aspect I love about Euron is how he made the Ironborn serious again. Prior to him, the Ironborn were always dunked on or viewed as irrelevant by everyone. I fear that will change drastically in The Winds of Winter.

    • @cpegg5840

      The Others may be the true enemy, but Euron Crow's Eye is practically the same in terms of threat level.

    • @bierwolf8360
      @bierwolf8360 7 месяцев назад

      @@cpegg5840 I believe that is because there have been multiple long nights (as there are many variations that don't exactly overlap) because there are several antagonistic forces at play - most of them far from benevolent. I can elaborate further, but basically, I propose that the "Others/ WWs" serve one God (who is buried beneath Winterfell) who hates the God of the CotF (not the same Old Gods as the First Men variant), but then there's the second duality of Drowned God vs Storm God, plus many other Gods. If you wish, I can elaborate. Plus, Euron is per my theory possessed by yet another being, more powerful than those that currently sleep

    Among all the God's I m paled on Euron's throne, I notice the Old Gods are notably absent.
    Also although there isn't a book equivalent of the show Night King, perhaps Euron will make himself into such?
    Who else is looking for a Bloodraven/Bran vs Euron showdown?
    Bloodraven or his protege must put down what Bloodraven created!
    I believe that it was Bloodraven who opened Euron's third eye when he was looking for a protege but backed off when he realized how crazy Euron was but the damage was already done.

      I found the part at @5:10 quite interesting. Who is this "shadow in a woman's form"? Shadows and white-blue fire. She is refered to as Euron's maid. Kinda sounds like a reference to the Maiden-made-of-light, though inverted. The Maiden-made-of-light and the Lion of Night together had a child, the God-on-Earth, who ruled the Great Empire of the Dawn for millenia. But when the bloodbetrayal occured, the Maiden-made-of-light, tired of man's sinful nature, withdrew and the Lion of Night unleashed the Long Night with his demons (the Others). To me, this sounds like Euron is likend to the Lion of Night and thus the night king equivalent. But it is weird as it had seemed that Euron was more a Bloodstone type, but those two were antagonists and thus not the same. If that is so, then the Bloodstone is most definetly an Azor Ahai incarnation. But that would make him the good guy - if there is such one. The Grey King and Green King (Garth the Gardener) are part of the myth too. With all that has been said and done, the Grey King is the Azor Ahai of that version too and is most likely the Bloodstone too. If so, then Garth and the Old Gods ARE with the Others as well.
