Yeah, I think Murray is a hidden gem in the painting field. But he's also an amazing one two punch with his converting skills too. I think you should use that as the leader of the army.
I never understand Murray's thought processes or methods in painting or converting - it's like he's seeing into a future I can't - but the results are always absolutely fantastic. Some of my favorite content on the channel, in fact. Stellar work as usual, love it.
While Muray was building the model and it was still headless I was thinking how cool it would be to convert blood knights into dullahans! Make flames shoot out of their necks and have then carry around helmets, would look cool as hell and would fit in with an undead army perfectly.
I love how the countless multicoloured dots slowly form into something greater and more beautiful, than the sum of their own! Truly wonderful! I would gladly see more of the sisters and their lore, thus I believe, that they deserve their very own army.
The fact Murray started this WITHOUT A PLAN and then just watching the way he throws paint on the model, seemingly willy-nilly...but ends with this beauty?! There is savant level genius behind that goofy smile and I won't be convinced otherwise.
The serenity and mystery of that character due to the hood conversion combined with the power the lantern staff projects makes me think this is definitely your Leader, not just a Sergeant. Also having her sister riding behind her as a bodyguard adds to the feel that this character is the centre of power (both Magical and Martial) for your army!!! Cheers!
That Japan trip really served y'all well. Ever since you guys came back the quality has gone up up and up. I wonder what kind of buff Murray's gonna bring back when HE goes on vacation lol.
Watching Murray paint is way too fun. I never know what the end result is going to look like, but it's always stunning! Also, that was a great ad read. Made me actually laugh!
I love Murreys work and whatever video you make. But honestly, this video was a rollercoaster of emotions on how you painted! Love the result nonetheless, but damn, you kept me on the edge of my seat haha. Happy weekend
Sometimes it's easy to forget how small the miniatures are because of the zoomed in camera, but Murray holding the finished knight served as a reminder. Looks lovely!
Love the conversions , awesome concept, and the painting by Murray is always amazing. 1 little lore correction I noticed: the Briar Queen is a different model that goes with a guard unit called the Thorns of the Briar Queen and Lady Olynder is the Mortarch of Grief in charge of Nighthaunt as a whole in the lore.
So fascinating to see the outcomes here. I love Murray's method and narrating. Your sponsor spot was SO entertaining. I love when there's no fast forwarding required.
I simply love the stage in a conversion just before it is primed and the parts from different kits, as well as the sculpting, are so visibly different in their color. Very fun patchwork look. I would say: make the two the leader of a new one
Please can we have a mini series with all 3 of you able to take time and paint a passion project. Love seeing your work with only a few weeks to do it in, but would love to see you all at the top of your game painting a love not a need.
The soulblight vampires style their hair while hanging upside down which gives them the gravity defying look. This is a popular fashion movement across the courts of Shyish.
Murray in AoS? Hell Yeah! This vampire sister due is awesome! It never ceases to amaze what you all can do with a f guys give us your unique stew different parts, green stuff and imagination. Murray . . . how? Please teach me to do this. Got a request for later down the line, if you all are interested. We've seen the storage the gang has for the minis around the studio. But can you guys give us your unique take on mini transport if you were going to Armies on Parade or a tournament or a games night? Can't wait for the next video! Murray . . . can't wait to see your 10th edition 'nids.
Not to do a 'um, actually' but as someone who has been collecting nighthaunt for 3 years now........... 4:57 that's not the briar queen model, that is lady olyander
I'd love to see an army built with these two as the leaders. I'm really torn about the final product. I love everything about this model from the awesome paint scheme to the rider hooded head save for the side saddle rider. The one on the back looks less like she's riding the horse and more like she jumping/falling down, that head is simply horrible despite the amazing paint job. It's always easier to critique things from a distance and I hope Murray is proud of this overall beautiful piece. Outside looking in, he possibly could have used the warm water trick to bend the legs more forwards, then green stuffed a skirt onto the model to hide the unnatural deformity (I'm picturing a knee length skirt in the front, maybe ruffles, with a long flowing one in the back) and blue stuff casting the rider's hooded head instead of the vampire one that came in the kit. However, without the means nor skills to replicate Murray's final product, it's hard to say if my idea would even work or improve the otherwise gorgeous final product.
Agreed, it feels like the sister on the back is just 'stuck on' and less 'holding on' as she isn't really positioned in a 'side saddle' pose, she's not high up enough for it, not mention the face, as you put it the paintjob is excellent it's just a fugly looking sculpt overall. The paintjob during the midpoint I was like "it looks way too busy and clashing" but the final product really is amazing. Agree with you on using warm water to try to bend her into a better position and then sculpting a long flowing noblewoman's skirt over the legs to hide it. For an older example of someone riding Side Saddle IIRC the old Bretonnian Sorceress rides side saddle as did Lucretia Borgia from the old Dogs of War range. Edit: correction it was the Bretonnian Damsel that is riding side saddle, not the Sorceress.
I used to ply as Vampire Counts...didn't really enjoy AoS when it came out, but I had a pretty hefty undead force using their roles but themed heavily after the Scourge from Warcraft 3 and WoW because it mixed the Blood Dragons with Death Knights. Then I had a more standard detachment of the Vampire Coasts to add some crazy to the mix for it with an added pile of guns and a canon
Beautiful with all the complex shadows in both the cape and metals! You kinda look at it up close and are like wtf, but it just makes this cool surface with so much play at the end. And the piece as a whole is so well balanced, contrast wise. Look at it in his hand at the end! 👏👏👏
Y'all gave me some good ideas as to how to paint colors that I tend to get stuck in a rut when painting of late! I'll have to take notes and try this out for myself.
I just heard the part where he was confused because the dude was painting with a paper towel and I actually do that a lot didn't realize that was something weird😅
Love the work Murray! I'm a massive fan of the older Graveguard, Krell etc. there is just something about that heavy mix of plate and chain scrap armour of classic undead minis that draws you in.
I woudl gladly listen to an 1 hour explanation on how the nine hells Murray gets to achive that results with basically destroying all the bases the 90% of the painters use. Also the instant metal effect just with paint and cotton.
Niiice, the army I'm building is gonna get some attention. Really looking forward to it. Also another very cool model you might want to look at is Reikenor the Grimhailer. Really cool mini, pretty much the grim reaper on a winged horse, what more do you need? Maybe the Black Coach since that's also insanely cool.
Makes me think that the older sister is crazy and fallen to the bloodlust while the younger may be the protector riding her into battle and directing her frenzy on the target while being more in control, as the older is so protective she listens to the youngers instructions.
New army and all the videos that follow the creation pleeeease! Would be cool to see some skeletons with more of a ghostly vibe to them, as if a remnant of the soul is still ankered to the remains.
Since this a continuation of a former battle report, why don't you have one of the dead rank and files from each of the previous battles as a unit, tied by being turned into rotten zombies and bone golems?
Crazily cool! I have a wish for the upcoming battle, I hope it is not too late! It would be cool if the extra sister? (was it a lover?) also was a second character to the model, someone who has less combat proficiency than the lord, but she has a special ability, whenever the lord gets wounded in close combat she gets an immediate chance to retaliate to the attacker, on a die 4+ or 5+ she gets to strike a bonus attack back as a form revenge, from their close bond. Maybe the lord also has some bonus when something happens to her? And maybe there could be some special rule when one of them dies?
Your colourwork is fascinating, love it. I think keep the blood knight as a character, but not THE warlord / boss. Let's have another super big kitbash boss!
Awesome conversion (though I agree with the heads from the kit being kind of bad, including the one chosen for the one in back =/). I love the way you paint, though I can't for the life of me wrap my head around it enough to even guess at how I could attempt to replicate it without setting my expectations on the results being bleh =P
The sisters turned out gorgeous! But I gotta say, I caught nothing of the sponsor plug bc I was way too entertained by what was going on in the background! 😂
In this age of Sigmar story I really hope Jen joins and maybe picks Lizards/ Seraphon for her side of the battle. Bc they don't get enough love in my opinion.
(et-em) the story begins when one of the blood knight ended his life in battle. a unknowned eternal roge wizard wandered in and healed the blood knight with his black magic. this black magic causes any person (and any other being) is forever thursty... and the only thing that will quench the thurst for a while is blood. this black magic spell is linked. if anyone who disobayed the roge wizard, there body becomes bones and the wizard will take over. the spell is permanent until the wizard thinks you can handle the task. the blood knight had to obay this wizard and now leads for all eternaty. bound by this almighty roge wizard. with the wizard, we do not know if its a man or a woman. all that you can see is blood red eyes. all the rest of him/her is covered with a mask. he is a all purple cloak that is always covered. and you can only see his dagger on 1 side and a wand on the other. he/she levitate to move around. he/she can not speek because the link spell he/she talks in that person in there mind, with there language, and there voice.
How does he do it when he's using spray paint it looks like something out of the 80s by the end it's the most grim dark thing I've ever seen how does he do it
The miniature itself looks nice BUT the arm holding onto the rider looks really wonky with the wrong proportions. Murray, top quality painting but try and tinker a bit more when kitbashing :)

I feel like Murray has a actual art background. And just paints the way he knows which to us is just absolute chaos
Yeah, I think Murray is a hidden gem in the painting field. But he's also an amazing one two punch with his converting skills too. I think you should use that as the leader of the army.
I feel like Murray has a very different painting style to the other RUclips creators - it's really nice to see some different approaches!
I never understand Murray's thought processes or methods in painting or converting - it's like he's seeing into a future I can't - but the results are always absolutely fantastic. Some of my favorite content on the channel, in fact. Stellar work as usual, love it.

Probably my favourite piece Murry has done to date. I absolutely love his style. 😍💯💯💯
The side saddle lady strikes me more as if she is hopping off the horse for a more personal engagement!
So fascinating to see the outcomes here. I love Murray's method and narrating.

OK, That looks AWESOME! See you next time & have a great weekend.

I love the new Blood Knights it was really fun converting them to sit on Thunderwolves for my Vrykos
Not to do a 'um, actually' but as someone who has been collecting nighthaunt for 3 years now...........
4:57 that's not the briar queen model, that is lady olyander
" it looks like Jen when i go over a speed bump "
😂
I totally saw her in that.
This miniature looks amazing! Love the whole process. Still haven't forgotten about your Tyrannid army Murray, looking forwatd to seeing more of it
We are just waiting for 10th now!
Murray's painting style is so colourful and rich.
Why did I watch this video I the morning when it's so far away from painting time? It was too inspiring, stop it Murray!
I'd love to see an army built with these two as the leaders.
I'm really torn about the final product. I love everything about this model from the awesome paint scheme to the rider hooded head save for the side saddle rider. It really looks like a vampire leading the army and the idea of adding a sister is super creative!
Y'all gave me some good ideas as to how to paint colors that I tend to get stuck in a rut when painting of late! I'll have to take notes and try this out for myself.
I like the "out of the box" thinking this inspures for both modelling and painting. Im going to give this painting method a try...
Brilliant work, Murray! This is a beautiful kitbash. Looking forward to seeing it in action.
watching Murray paint is like watching a magic trick. you have no idea how it works while its happening, but the result is fantastic
More Murray painting and kitbashing the better!
I woudl gladly listen to an 1 hour explanation on how the nine hells Murray gets to achive that results with basically destroying all the bases the 90% of the painters use. Also the instant metal effect just with paint and cotton.
Looks like she's either cursing the day her sister became a vampire, or she's about to dismount to restock the handbag.
I think this is so customized, they would be really cool leaders.

Death rattle skeletons that were, SOOO GORGEOUS....🤣
You can't have a "decapited" hand. "Decapited" means "separation" ("de") and "head" (cap). It only applies to the action of removing a head.
i cant learn anything from these videos, since i could never replicate murrays style. they are so fun to watch anyways.more please!
Murray paints in an interesting way and I learned something new from it
Lady Olyndar is the reason I decided to paint a Nighthaunt army. She's a gorgeous sculpt 😍
Wicked vid Murray, definitely feels like a Leader
Just started a soulblight army myself, so im exited to see this army come together
New army and all the videos that follow the creation pleeeease! Would be cool to see some skeletons with more of a ghostly vibe to them, as if a remnant of the soul is still ankered to the remains.
Murry is the Macgyver of the painting world.
The face on the rear model 100% reminds me of the first time my dad took my on a motorbike 😱
🤯 This was amazing to watch, both the conversion and that stellar paint job. Where can I see more of Murray? Struggling to find anything!
Find a video with Tyranids in it
just another Murray-painting-style comment
Murray saying "unit" makes me giggle.
Murray is a legend.
What white and green are those? That green is fabulous and the white looks like it has really good coverage
Watching Meurina paint always stresses me out. Then at some point it just starts looking amazing for no reason.
Since this a continuation of a former battle report, why don't you have one of the dead rank and files from each of the previous battles as a unit, tied by being turned into rotten zombies and bone golems?
Always happy to see vampire minis
I wonder if that vampire lady can turn her head with all of that headress and collar.
Hooray! A Murray video!
There are some angles when it looks so much like the second one is falling of the horse
Looking forward to the battles!
Army general as you have already created an interesting back story for it
Your colourwork is fascinating, love it. I think keep the blood knight as a character, but not THE warlord / boss. Let's have another super big kitbash boss!
Awesome conversion (though I agree with the heads from the kit being kind of bad, including the one chosen for the one in back =/).

Looks awesome! What’s the yellow putty you used??
love the conversion work, but that vampire head is WAAAY to big for the body
looks like a bobble head, a wonderfully converted bobblehead, but still
Having seen the last battle report, I'm wondering if "Brainzy" will return on the back of a bird lol
When ever I get bored I watch your videos 😁
Yay. New TTT video 🎉
YESSSSSS, more Murray 🎉🎉🎉
Would love to see more soulblights!!
Best. Ad read. EVER!!!!!
I have to say tht the rider's head reminded me of Queen Amidala's handmaidens in Phantom Menace.
Murray you inspire me!
The sisters turned out gorgeous! But I gotta say, I caught nothing of the sponsor plug bc I was way too entertained by what was going on in the background! 😂
Cant wait for the battlereport 🙂 you Guys i Love those content please more of it.
Jazza sent me over to check y'all out...
So here I am, let's see what ya got guy's. 😂😊
Wow this is sick !
In this age of Sigmar story I really hope Jen joins and maybe picks Lizards/ Seraphon for her side of the battle. Bc they don't get enough love in my opinion.
Oh my god, Murray...
Looks great and to me that screams hero and not unit leader. I think they have a tale and they should be the heroes of it.
I’m excited for the next battle report
No highlights on the horse armour? Seems like a missed opportunity
Why is Murray some kind of painting sorcerer? I thought he was the comedic distraction of your team. Turns out he is a painting god
Sob-light bleep-blops? :P
Wrong TTT but maybe some more Sunder/ironspire ? I miss it.

ok but now i want to buy some blood knights LMAO
They were roommates
How does he do it when he's using spray paint it looks like something out of the 80s by the end it's the most grim dark thing I've ever seen how does he do it
I love Jenn and Dave, but I still think, that Murray do not have enough screentime...
While I do think the bloodknights look cool, I just prefer Kavalos Deathriders. They are just the cooler looking five man horse squad
The miniature itself looks nice BUT the arm holding onto the rider looks really wonky with the wrong proportions. Murray, top quality painting but try and tinker a bit more when kitbashing :)
...I've just understood the logo. It's a table and two chairs isn't it... god I feel dumb.
