My grandmother had one of those Electrolux vacuum cleaners. The thing scared the snot out of me when she can it because it was so loud. I had nightmares about getting sucked up into it.
Those Lux LX (60s) were so quiet for heir day even more so then any Kirby of it time +10 yrs. Grandma ran 1 right by the sleeping dog & he didn’t even care. Lol
Watching you picking is always like watching a educational video. Really, it's so interesting to observe your negotiation tactics and to see what kind of items you choose. Also I like absolutely the style of your videos. You found some really good stuff. Thanks for sharing John! :)
I remember a guy coming to the door in about 1949.. with a vacuum like one of those. It was pre wall to wall carpets, so only wealthy people had 'oriental' area rugs... that wasn't us, for sure. He was trying to show is that we could dust all the floors and furniture with the attachments... First time I ever saw a vacuum. It's amazing that yours still have all the attachments. Good luck with selling everything.
Decided to re/watch some early videos since I wasn’t hitting sales this weekend and nice to see an early appearance of Ben from Ready Set Resell! Started watching him about 2 years ago.
Look up "Replacement Parts" for the vacuums; I usually part out old Kirbys because I get more if not the same for the parts separately and shipping is ALOT easier.
Wow, those vacuums sent me back to my childhood! They were made the year I was born. My mother always had Electrolux vacuums as did my aunts. It was a great upgrade when they finally put wheels on so you didn't have to drag the dang thing. I don't know how many miles I vacuumed with one of those during my growing up years! Love your videos, your style and your courtesy. Great work!
My Mom Ann had one as well. NO PLASTIC parts on those old models. You can break them. Built like a Tank. I remember she eventually got a round Sunbeam model that looked like a flying saucer or something. That's when they went to ' wheels so it would roll.
@LawsonEmpire I graduated from high school in '71 and I used them in math class then. I also have several that were my dad's. One even came with instructions, which is really helpful. LOL
My mom had an Electrolux I think it was from the 60's/70's but she loved that thing,. I remember as a kid pulling that thing around and damn it was heavy! lol You can probably get more for parts like someone else suggested or maybe as a Movie Prop. :)
Good score on those 1952 Electrolux LX (60s). easy to service & clean & keep going. That bag style remained into the late 1980s & was so reliable. Whisper quiet for heir design The market comes & goes so be patient but they will sell. Even over seas in UK such a following of our high end American classics.
The only thing is the hose interior will most likely be leaking for it’s age. Newer non electric hoses of any model since the 20s into the early 80s will fit. Or you need to modify the 1956 to 1989 electric powered hose
Omg, those Electrolux sell well. My husband loves them, that is all we have in our house. He buys them on eBay. I cuss them every time, because they flip belly-up on me, but hey, he uses them so I'm not going to complain about him vacuuming!
12:39 You'll make money on the slide rulers the prices have gone up in the last five years. I just sold my dad's old slider ruler ( Aristo Rietz no 89) for $15. 10 years ago it would have been $2.... The compass sets will get make you money, the black sets with the snap boxes were Bergens, the larger sets are about $30-$40 per complete set.
In the compass set the Inker (looks like tweezer with black handle) actually makes the best tweezer! I've used one of these as a tweezer for almost 40 years.
If I see the slide rules in the leather case, I usually buy them if they are cheap enough, far from an expert, but have sold them anywhere from $20 to $50. i have an addiction for boomboxes and shelf system stereo's. problem is I rarely list them
I'm sitting here watching this video and you tilt back that retro Sony boom box and I realize that I have the exact one sitting next to me that I listen to the ball game on. Love it.
Great buy on the Electrolux vacuums my dad sold them for years and they run for ever I still have a couple of the older ones myself And use them regularly
If you don't already do so, be on the look out for disc golf frisbees. There's a lot of money to be made on some of the older discs... Some go for $100+. The main brand to keep an eye out for is Innova.
I sold electrolux vacuum cleaners part time in 1990 and 1991 as a 2nd job while in the military. Those old machines were sought after then. We used to sell machine for 1400 dollars plus back then. We make a commission on the sale. Then on our customers purchases of bags, belts ect... they are the best vacuums ever made. The old metal one were extremely sought after.
I bought a K&E slide rule from a sale about 5 months ago and just settled on a guy just picking it up for $20. Only payed $5 for it so I’m happy but thought I’d get almost double that. But the rest of stuff in the sale did very well so it’s all good.
I moved to So. Cal 4 years ago from Cincinnati area and I'm always enjoy trying to figure out if you're garage saling in Kings, Mason, Lebanon, etc. It looked like last week you were in the TPC neighborhood.
15:45 Woah, that's a McDonald's Mario toy ball that came in happy meals way back when! Man, I don't know what those are worth, but you'd be hard press to find those still around
I love ur channel! I have only been watching for 2 weeks but ur awesome ! Good quality videos and u never really beat people over the head on price , keep up the good work man u deserve 1 million subscribers and will be there in no time
Just a heads up the 127 yard sale, if you are going all the way south, you can skip Alabama mostly. We did it last year and there was a LONG empty stretch of it out there. I would say if you start at the GA , TN border then head north you should be good. We live in middle TN so we mostly do the TN part and some of the KY part. Happy hunting, love the vids.
Check out local vacuum stores and repair shops, they might be interested in buying them. You might not get quite as much, but it beats figuring out shipping.
Anybody who says 'I looked on Ebay and they sell for....' I ask them then why don't they? It isn't difficult. But.... they don't think about the time spent sourcing, listing, packing, taking to the PO and then paying fees.....and wondering if you will get a return etc. That just downright annoys me!
Decent scores for the day, I did alright this weekend considering it stormed most of the day today here in Kansas, but I did well Friday. You got an awesome looking dog!
If you know anyone into Nascar in the Cincinnati/NKY area let me know man! I just bought a massive collection to flip. Already have some of it on ebay.
YOU'RE KILLING ME SMALLS. Have that T shirt and get comments every time I wear it people love The Sandlot. If you haven't ever saw it you should and enjoy it with your kids great film. Nice finds keep it up and don't worry about the few negative comments you get. Haters gonna hate let then enjoy their toxic lifestyle.
Love watching your videos man! You're so lucky. I live in the middle of nowhere Rapid City, South Dakota. Great garage sales are few and far between around. LOL
I like how you work with the sellers, you seem to know just how far to push, and when to push and when to just pay up. A neighbor used to go with me pickin, but he's embarrassing, He'll beat them up like if marked 10, he'll offer a dollar, maybe 50 cents. I don't take him picking with me any more. He's not even polite about it, you are. I could pick with you any time. Probably good buy on the electroluxe stuff. Hopefully you can sell locally.
I walked into the room to see my 6 year old sitting at the laptop watching this video. Then he said, "I disliked this video." I had to set the boy straight and changed it! Love your garage sale finds!
Man keep up the good work I really love this channel, I love watching ur family friendly channel. I hope u get all the credit u deserve! ❤️ this channel
My grandmother had one of those Electrolux vacuum cleaners. The thing scared the snot out of me when she can it because it was so loud. I had nightmares about getting sucked up into it.
They were loud... and powerful.
Those Lux LX (60s) were so quiet for heir day even more so then any Kirby of it time +10 yrs. Grandma ran 1 right by the sleeping dog & he didn’t even care. Lol
All the work begins reselling and shipping, picking is all the fun.
Thumb Up for "Sandlot" mention. Really solid pick on those slide rules.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who buys slide rules. When I see them I buy them compulsively. They can take forever to sell, but they do sell.
Watching you picking is always like watching a educational video. Really, it's so interesting to observe your negotiation tactics and to see what kind of items you choose. Also I like absolutely the style of your videos. You found some really good stuff. Thanks for sharing John! :)

Just stumbled across this channel a week or two ago and I’ve been binging like crazy. Definitely my new favorite! Keep them coming brother

Make sure to look up every slide rule. I bought one thinking I'd get $50 and ended up selling it for $900
wowza
@LawsonEmpire They are calculators from a time before calculators existed.
@LawsonEmpire I graduated from high school in '71 and I used them in math class then. I also have several that were my dad's. One even came with instructions, which is really helpful. LOL

Ready set resell went from 131 to now almost 1k... I bet he's glad he ran into you! I sub'ed
Slide rules are so cool. I have a few that were my Dad's. Love watching you pick!
@ 0:28 "Uhm, I looked it up online..." Those dreaded words of death.
Those and "I saw one just like that listed on EBay for.....".
Good luck with the slide rules...I found a rare sun hemi one about 5 years ago and it sold for $2800 on Ebay
Very interesting I have been hooked on your videos. Love garage sales.
Sandlot was one of my favorite movies I’m going to watch it with the family tonight
Yaaaaaaa... SANDLOT!!! That's where I saw those
I love electrolux finds. I just bought two with accessories for 20 and have already sold both for over 80 and buyer paid shipping
Love to wake up and see a new Cincinnati Picker video
Omg, those Electrolux sell well. My husband loves them, that is all we have in our house. He buys them on eBay. I cuss them every time, because they flip belly-up on me, but hey, he uses them so I'm not going to complain about him vacuuming!
Great finds! Keep the videos coming. Thanks for sharing
Wb from vacation, hope you and the family Njoyed. The Sandlot is a classic, impressive haul. Thx 4 posting.
The Electro-Lux is an excellent brand. Many hotels /motels use these. Parts are still available and some dealers repair them on site.
My grandmother had an electrolux and it was a great vacuum cleaner. Hers was older than the ones you got, hope you do well with them.
I love the Raggedy Ann and Andy tin 💖💖 I had the dolls when I was a little girl.

I admire how "un-sleazeball" you sound when negotiating, John. It's definitely an art! 👋

Slide rules were a precursor to calculators...some math geeks still use them. Wonderful instruments. Much more than "just a" tool.
Great buy on the Electrolux vacuums my dad sold them for years and they run for ever I still have a couple of the older ones myself And use them regularly
Those old Electrolux vacuums still clean better than any vacuum made today.
Roberta Glass True Crime Report nope rainbows work best
No.
I love selling slide rules, great buy on those friend! TFS!

Man that is one crazy sale, so much stuff !!
I was stuck with a Fitbit for parts for a while but sold it for what I paid plus shipping. Good luck with this one. At $2 there is no risk.
I bought a K&E slide rule from a sale about 5 months ago and just settled on a guy just picking it up for $20. Only payed $5 for it so I’m happy but thought I’d get almost double that. But the rest of stuff in the sale did very well so it’s all good.
When you hit Chattanooga be sure to go up to Bryant Al. They usually have some nice stuff up there. That’s local for me. My dad hits it up every year.
I moved to So. Cal 4 years ago from Cincinnati area and I'm always enjoy trying to figure out if you're garage saling in Kings, Mason, Lebanon, etc. It looked like last week you were in the TPC neighborhood.
I grew up with electrolux vacuums! Awesome vacs! My husband used a slide rule in college.
Love, love your channel, you are the nicest guy! Great content! Glad to have found you! Keep up the great work!
I agree!
15:45 Woah, that's a McDonald's Mario toy ball that came in happy meals way back when! Man, I don't know what those are worth, but you'd be hard press to find those still around
My next shirt will say “Take a chance, what the hell” haha love it
That is what you have to do!
Great to find your videos; you are my kind of dude. I need more friends like you. Cincinnati has GREAT auctions.
Hey in Wytheville Virginia they do the 100 mile yard sale that ends in North Carolina. It's the last week of July. Lots of goodies.
Great Haul. One of the Vacuun Hose Looks Newer ( Lot of the New & Old would interchange).
The Electrolux is a great vacuum. Wish I had my mothers.
Nice finds! Those are the cleanest electrolux I have seen. I always find them dirty and needing a good scrub. TFS
You should try a TV /Film Props house for the vacuums, they have a great look to them.
The Sandlot was my favourite movie as a kid!
This guy finds much better stuff than I do at yard sales.
I love ur channel! I have only been watching for 2 weeks but ur awesome ! Good quality videos and u never really beat people over the head on price , keep up the good work man u deserve 1 million subscribers and will be there in no time

Hey I’m in a marching band and we often use those Dr Beats and they are actually worth about $170

Love watching your videos man! You're so lucky. I live in the middle of nowhere Rapid City, South Dakota. Great garage sales are few and far between around. LOL
I've done pretty well with slide rules over the years. If that guy was collecting them, you can guarantee there are more collectors out there.
Right out the gate with the ole "I looked online price quote". Very cool basement.
I just put the item down usually and think, ‘Then sell it online. and leave it if it’s not something I can’t live without.
I like how you work with the sellers, you seem to know just how far to push, and when to push and when to just pay up. So Lonnie is your neighbor?
@@martinmarin9625 I wish, but I like the country life. I'm just saying he's the kind of guy I could pick with, he does it right.
You’re killing me smalls!!! They used 3 vacuums to suck the ball. Who’s Baby Ruth any way? 😂
