John Harrison is a Master Gunsmith not only can he build a top shelf pistol but he builds all the parts as well. My hands are getting old but when I need parts I buy them from John. Take care, flea
I had John do work on my Springfield. He did a wonderful and job and installed the same rear sight you put on yours.couldnt be happier.thanks for showing us yours.Merry Christmas 🎄
I just picked up my 4.25-inch Ronin yesterday in 9mm. The first changes will be grips and changing the RED FO pipe to NEON GREEN. A Harrison 0.156" U-notch rear sight and short solid trigger will be next.
Mr. Harrison's part cannot be beat. Every part I have purchased has been beautifully machined, ready to install and fit, and his thumb safety install instructions should be a requirement for 1911 tinkerers. His ignition system, thumb safety and flat/square firing pin stop were the best improvements I've ever made to a 1911. He's proud of his parts, has every right to be, but you cannot match the quality. The 1911 world will suffer when he retires.
That's a fine-looking pistol and I Just got my Delta Elite full rail back from Nighthawk custom and had them do a front grip texturing... looks great and you don't have to send the whole gun in , so that will save you in shipping
John replaced the target sights on my stainless Springfield Loaded with his specially cut night sights. He sighted it in, included a target sheet showing aim point and bullet holes. Thank you John.
Awesome video, great looking pistol. I like that all the MIM parts have been replaced!!! Now you can trust that pistol!! Great review of your pistol!!!
IMHO, it was trustworthy before the upgrades, we have a 9mm Ronin that works great, but John Harrison did such a GREAT job with it, I had to let him roll with it!! Originally, I only sent him the slide for sights, that was it!! John talked me into all these wonderful parts he makes!!
Question, what trigger did you get? I got this gun in commander size 9mm. I didn’t know it had a plastic trigger till just a few weeks ago. I’d like to replace the trigger with a metal one.
Nice shooting there. Guns are like cars, you can add the stuff you want and if someone else doesn't like it, who cares, it is yours to do what you want to with it. I like the idea of upgrading all the internals, but truth be told I am far from some sort of operator and couldn't wear out off the shelf components even if I had the budget for the good stuff, lol. Take care.
Upgrades like these are just something that you do when you can afford them, the pistol is great from the factory, but With great parts like Harrison's, you can make the pistol your own!!
What were the approximate cost in upgrades and labor to this pistol? I’m wanting to get a 4.25” light weight 1911 and was going to go a custom route but I like this idea!
I don't want to post prices, all Gunsmiths charge different prices for the same job and parts are priced differently too. Also, RUclips gets their underpants in a bunch if I do something like that.
@@teddy2guns404 Now, 10mm IS the best hiking rig for certain parts of the country, here in AZ, if you hike Yavapai County, you better have a 10mm, Black Bear are everywhere!!

Hello, I was really interested in your video, I have just purchased a Ronin myself. But why on earth would you film a video at the gun range. Makes no sense what so ever! Can't hear what your saying, hard to concentrate. Can you do a different video?
Sorry, we don't have private property and here in AZ, my HOA would frown on me shooting in my back yard!! A Shooting Range is the place to shoot guns. We try to go to Gunsite as much as we can, but when gas was $5 a Gallon, it was not in the cards. Now, it's a bit less What video would you want us to do??
In my opinion, you took a gun with outstanding good looks, an expensive looking pistol out of the box, and made it look like an average looking rock island for god sake. Just my opinion.
LOL, your opinion and you know what they say about Opinions.... These parts are the farthest from RIA Parts!! There is NOT a single Cast part, on this gun now, for the exception of the Grip safety that is still the MIM factory part!! You have to see it in person and shoot it to tell the ergonomic difference, but in the end, it is MY gun and I do with it as I WISH!!
@@yrsued all I meant was, and I own one in 45cal, 4.25 inch, It is a stunning handgun out of the box, in 1989 I sent my colt commander to pacmyer to have it done just like that one for about 800 dollars. I guess that's why I love this one so much, the good old days. I meant no disrespect.
@@BLACKWOLF-1911 These parts by Harrison are the best parts out there, all Machined from Barstock and they are worth the money, I did this pistol just because I could. Like I said on the Video, I didn't have to do it, but we thought it would look good. Now, OTOH, I have a Kimber Warrior SOC that I think I will add all Harrison Parts to it and remove all MIM. Do you still have the Pachmayr??
Love the look of the ronin.
It is a VERY good pistol.

I like to ask what that cost you in time and money. Springfield Armory's custom shop does an outstanding job of checkering.
