Hey Rach, welcome back. Recently I got stuck, then I did this art course & it changed my life & helped me find something inside that I never knew was there. Apart from that, it gave me a different perspective. Some times that's all we need to get going again. I'm loving you're WOW moment in Joshua tree house & looking forward to seeing where this leads❤
Did not notice your shirt was inside out 😆, I’m mesmerized by the circle! Yeah!!! Thank you for sharing, I think way too often we hold these feelings inside because we’ve been taught not to impose on or bother other people with them when we are down. No one gets a prize for being stoic. You are a delight.
I spiraled the same recently I got on high quality prebiotics with my probitotics to help with my gut health and after two to three weeks the sprialling is gone, absolutely insane ❤ I hope you feel much better. You’re amazing please always remember that.
DIY Danie taught me a term called "wabi sabi", which basically describes embracing the imperfections of nature in our everyday objects, and I think your circle kinda fits that mindset. I like it!
I love that the circle is so organic. And, I don't comment every video but I just want you to know how much you've helped and inspired me. The house I bought in 2016 needed a lot of work and I never would have tackled any of it on my own without your example to show me I could. You've been a bright light in my life (especially during the pandemic). Keep shining.
Depression doesn’t look the same on everyone! How True! Love your videos and content. I’ve been following you a few years now and I’m never bored! Always Inspired! Lol. Two months shy of turning 74 and trying to get inspired to paint several pieces of curbside (free) furniture. I’ve torn my house apart so many times over the years & DIY’d. That was often times with four boys, several different pets….then grands …now one great grand! Keep going! You inspire me.💕💕🥰
I love it, I love the way your mind works! As someone that also has had a lifelong battle with mental health, I hope this diy endeavour helps you find your smile again.
Everyone suffers from depression at some point in their life. I was married to a narcissist it took two years to heal enough to move forward. Now I see lots of psychologists talking about the lingering effects of such a relationship. Depression oh yeah. Girl your ok has been part of my healing journey that’s what we are supposed to do love and encourage each other. You put on your battle armor and you persevered and are still overcoming. Each step of progress you make is a win. You’ve got this. I adore everything you’ve done I wish I was young again and had friends like you and Woodbrain. My life might have been different but we’re all on this journey to find and love ourselves. Go Rachel go.
I think it would save you a lot of work in the future as you move on renovating your house, if you bought a huge roll of craft paper and made patterns for what you want to create! In this case I would've hung the paper over the demo'd wall and cut out the first circle, realized that's not what I wanted so scrap it and try the square-cirlce compromise, scrap it when it didn't look right, and try again to draw what I wanted, to scale. Exactly how people who sew make swatches of their clothes with cheap fabric to work out the kinks and when they create the look they want, they have a pattern they can trace for their expensive/nice fabric. Just a thought!
Right on Rachel, you keep it up. Love watching your beautifully-gritty home desert builds. Your entire home will be done before you know it! I'm particularly excited about what you will do in the bathrooms! Depression is such a paralyzing disease, and it does affect each one of us differently. If we don't keep our hands busy by earning our own keep, it's a losing battle! I'm so glad to see you choosing to stay busy. Creating a beautiful world out of dust is so magical and healing. Love from San Francicso
I can relate to the depression and anxiety. In 2021 I lost my mother, my brother, my stepfather and my dog in a two week period. I am in the deepest depression. Watching your videos have helped me. I know I need to do some work in my parents park model trailer, so I’m living vicariously through you right now until I can find my own way back to the land of the living. Thank you for being open about your mental health issues. The wall is amazing!!!!
Hey girl I love your videos and I’m so excited to see what’s next. I think you have been taking on monumental projects and with editing and working I can imagine it’s overwhelming. I personally wouldn’t mind seeing small makeovers or even just day in the life’s, honestly whatever would make you feel happy. Even a diy or a piece of furniture or kitchen Reno. Just spitballing some easier projects! Anyway, can’t wait to see what’s next! ❤

this circle is STUNNING! i always trust the process watching your videos because you make miracles happen taking your ideas and bringing them to life! 💕 thank you for sharing with us
Thank you for sharing about your struggle with depression Rachel. And you are correct when you say everyone has their own different challenges with depression and no two stories are alike... Ive been suffering from depression for 20 years now, even on medication I still feel like im not doing well. People have to find what works best for them to get US out of this miserable Funk! I appreciate your transparency Rachel, keep being real lady, This is why we love you❤ And i love the circular wall but it needs a little more rounding on my right side while im looking at the video. But its absolutely Beautiful.... Well Done Young Lady ❤️
I really do hope you find the help you need. It seems like you've been stuck in a cycle for a few years now. It's like every video starts with you talking about having lost your motivation and sense of self and then you find it to do a project, but then you're back down in a depressive episode. Yet you come back with newfound motivation to usually redo the project you'd just said you had a new lease on life to complete. We've seen you in a positive headspace years ago so I'm sure you can get back there or at least find some strategies to help you manage your depression and anxiety. Of course you can't just magically get rid of depression and anxiety but there are ways to cope where you aren't living in such a high high, low low cycle. We're rooting for you, girl!
Yes! Love it!!! Also- thank you for being so vulnerable and relatable, it's very refreshing. Keep your beautiful chin up and power tools handy. You got this. We're all rooting for you

Just last night I looked to make sure I hadn't missed any of your videos...and this morning there you were. I'm glad you took time away from You Tube as I suspected you were getting overwhelmed with unfinished projects. I think this project gave you a boost, as everything eventually turns out so good. Can't wait to see the whole room after you finish everything. Rachel, you have to remember that a lot of stuff has gone on in your personal life, and around the world, in the last 3.5+ yrs. Uncertainty about things we can't control leaves many people depressed...but it is a transition. You will come out very strong for it in the end. And yes, your viewers love you and the unique content you create just for us. :) We love you girl!
Everything you post is like sunshine in my life. I would watch even if you only posted once a year. You are magic and your process is amazingly creative and i love it all. Thank you.
Love watching your brain go through all the phases, so What if that circle is a c-arch, this video made me happy and that's why I want to see more. It's like a creative space of trials and wins...keep going

This is so much fun Rachel! I love that you are using these projects as an outlet to work through your "stuff" and toward healing as a person. It is so good to see a woman who is courageous enough to do this and even more so to share the journey with us. #fullcircle ⚪🤍
I love it! It changes the entire landscape of that wall! I has that very organic, adobe look! Rachel, I think you hit a mantra that we should all live by; we're not perfect but we should love ourselves!
I think having the circle imperfect and bumpy totally fits. Life is never perfect. It is always bumps and imperfections so why shouldn't your doorway mimic life. You'll surprise yourself every time 😘
Hey Rachel, I have been following your work and channel for a long time. I too, went through a depression phase. Still struggling. But a woman like you, I am 200% sure, you will be able to pull through. Just leave everything aside and do mindless stuff. I know it's easier said than done...but try not to stress. You have built a wonderful community and we'll always be there for you.
Thank you for sharing. Ive been a bit of pit lately and hearing that others are feeling the same (which i know in my head but not always my heart) is so reassuring.
Going to start a reno in my childhood house in Costa Rica. Last time I lived there I fell into a deep depression; I blame the house ha ha . It was a weird 3 am doing work and sleep all day slum. I love how you have a group of girls that like to DIY; I feel like that makes a huge difference. Love your creative process
Thank you for being vunerable and honest in your journey of life. You are a real youtuber ❤ I loce your work and appreciate that you show us the imperfections. Your circle is beautiful!
Love the circle and love your honesty about how you're feeling. I also think once your home space is less of a construction zone and more zen it will positively affect mental health😊 you got this!!
Depression sure doesn’t look the same on everyone. Always do what is best for you and work at your own pace whenever you can. The circle entry looks great! ❤

@@LivingtoDIYwithRachelMetz I know I'm clumsy AF and I trip over nothing so I worry about everyone else... Currently recovering from foot surgery so I'm probably projecting 😂😂😂
Rachel, you are beautiful, and brave and smart. You are also fearless, or at least you seem to be. I love watching you in your fearlessness! You do you lady!
The highs of nailing a DIY project is so thrilling and it makes you feel unstoppable, but damn, the lows of failing one are something else! Takes a lot to admit you messed up and then to get the energy to start again and do it right. I'm going to be honest with you, you can do so much better than this, and you have done. It is clear the depressive period is really dragging you down and not allowing you to give your usual 110%, i think once you get out of the pit you'll definitely sort it out. And i hope you don't stub your toes on the base section!
First, perfection is overrated. Second, I don't always get to watch as you post, but I always, always, find time at some point to catch up! This is me, catching up. I love this opening! It's perfectly you!
Hi Rachel!! Good to see you. I've been going through some depression lately too. I've been making crafty items to sell at upcoming holiday bazaars but seem to have lost any confidence i had in the projects. I'm afraid they won't be good enough. My hubby and I are both retired now and money is tight. I want to bring in some $$ from my art. I'm really scared to try it; hoping I can work through this phase of depression like you are doing!! Thank you -- you are so inspiring!!
Living in survival mode for so long ended up in depression for me too. Teetering between fight flight and freeze is the autopilot! Healing feels like dying 😂 BUT it is all worth it. Have you read How To Do The Work? Sending love, you're going to be OK, the colour will return ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Take care, Rachel. I hope you'll continue to put your needs and yourself first. You are the most important thing in your life. :-) I hope you'll feel better soon.

Thank you so much! Love you.
I am so happy to see you!❤
I'm really happy to see you!
I want you to feel better.
Take time to heal is the best you can do.
I like it!! Its imperfect and rad, like you! ❤
THIS! ALLLLL of THIS!! 💜💜
Circular wall fits the vibe of your home. Keep it going 🤟🏼
Thank you!
We sometimes wear our shirts inside out on purpose. Not because they are dirty, but because we like it that way-- please give that dog maximum love.
Girl if you like it, that's all that matters. I think the bottom is a tripping hazard and I liked it completely open, but that's just my personal taste! I can't wait to see the bar side, it's going to totally transform your kitchen/living room ♥️
Once furniture and decor are in place, you won't trip but I have tripped a million times without it.
@@LivingtoDIYwithRachelMetz I know I'm clumsy AF and I trip over nothing so I worry about everyone else... Currently recovering from foot surgery so I'm probably projecting 😂😂😂
YES RACHEL UPLOADED 💪 I really needed this rn
Looks grand! DIY is the best anti depressant :) Keep it up
It really is!
Thank you!
OMG I’m loving it…I can NOT wait to see it all done 🎉👍🙌👏❤
IM SO EXITED FOR THE DOME!
YAY!
First, perfection is overrated. Second, I don't always get to watch as you post, but I always, always, find time at some point to catch up! This is me, catching up. I love this opening! It's perfectly you!
Welcome back! Thank you for being here.
You got this! We got this - here for you n
@@LivingtoDIYwithRachelMetz THANK YOU!!💖
Living in survival mode for so long ended up in depression for me too. Teetering between fight flight and freeze is the autopilot! Healing feels like dying 😂 BUT it is all worth it. Have you read How To Do The Work? Sending love, you're going to be OK, the colour will return ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Rachel I will be praying.for.you. Knowing God never leaves us alone. Im with you ❤
I also suffer from depression. Animals are very good for depression. I also take medication and have a therapist. Love the circle doorway.
Take care, Rachel. I hope you'll continue to put your needs and yourself first. You are the most important thing in your life. :-) I hope you'll feel better soon.
So cool! Well done 💛
You are absolutely amazing! Your ideas are fantastic and you make them happen!! Such an inspiration! Keep moving at your own pace but for goodness sake keep moving ✨❤️

Honestly, it is still such a cool feature without being a perfect circle! Architects have a hard time with circles too
I appreciate that - I do need to fix it though.
