This looks surprisingly very modern actually for a north Korean music video released in the 80s. Like you would think with the haircut rules, and the type of clothes they're allowed to wear, it wouldn't look typically 80s. It looks like something even Japan and South Korea did in the 80s.
People forget that North Korea was actually doing ok during that time…at some points it was even stronger than South Korea. It wasn’t until the famine in the 90s that the north stagnated and the south shot ahead.
