Bro niko kwamaiko saa hii, this is my village area, have small interests in the town, plus that first shop as you were entering kambui is my aunties shop, my house is literally 500 metres from kambui mission, karungo is the cousin to my mum, ukekuja ukunywe kikombe cha chai, cheers
That bridge would have been built by the late Authur Magugu he used to be the MP for Githunguri and also was the transport minister during the Moi regime
Interesting to be in Kwa Maiko. Initially I thought the name came from a colonial settler. Mr lone traveller I am not sure whether you have given us your name. The other thing is have you ever thought of contacting Jeremy Damaris of Kenya Diaspora? If you can get an interview with him. That will guarantee you a huge coverage.
You forgot to point that this town has many now and former radio personality like karungo wa thang'wa, PM SQUARED,DJ Mohspice and his brother DJ kym nickdee
That's interesting,I didn't know kiamako is a village near ruiru,I know Nairobi kiamako!!,I think because I was born and grow up in Nairobi and other side of kiambu, Kikuyu 😮
You can not talk about kwa maiko without mentioning the name of Harry thuku also another media personality from the area is rose kimotho former owner of kameme fm
Wacha nikuibie siri..Most radio personalities in our vernacular stations hail from Gíthúngúri..Kuna time tulikuwa tunacount unapata karibu 20..I think tunapenda túmeme sana
Hapo umeonyesha kwa mto panaitwa Mariigí..Damn nimeona hiyo bara bara nkaskia kauchungu fulani since we buried our aunt hapo tu few meters and she died in my hands...weuh...Kwamaiko na Gathanjí ziko same WhatsApp group aki
There was a time HIV/AIDs was so rampant in this town buana...They even had a skeleton depicting the killer disease to educate residents tondú anga ní maganaga múno..Btw hiyo huwa tunaiita Route 160 (Ruirú Gíthúngúri road)
You should visit those towns that are are along Kenyatta road to Gatundu town ie kimunyu, mutomo , icaweri to Gatundu. Am from Gatundu town though we no longer live there my dad bought a piece of land at Athi river in 2000 so we relocate from ancestral land to there though our inheritance is still in Gatundu south because that is where my grave is just next to my parents. That is not my concern, my concern is we have estates very rich mushrooming eveyday neighbourhoods , roads 💯, best hospital level 4 which is under Kenyatta university, there is KMTC and MAMA NGINA UNIVERSITY, we have best high schools like Muhoho boys , Ituru boys, Mururia boys , Karinga Girls, Muthiga girls, kimunyu boys, etc they have good performances we have the modern market and bus station, but Gatundu town doesn’t grow despite the two presidents coming from there the town still have old structures. Maybe when you go there we will know what the problem is .
Nyama ya kwamaiko to die for.i lived there once.have very fond memories of that place.
good old days

He is a legend
My mother is related to Magugu. I start school at Maringi preparatory church school in them days ..in the 60s. Kwamaiko has not changed at ll.
Wow, you mean the town was still thriving in the 60s!
Kwamaiko definitely doesn't look the way it did in the 60s
Am from nyeri, but I know kwa maiko more, than where I was born, kwa maiko, is only meat.
That's nice, but am sure you are confusing Kwa Maiko (this one) and Kiamako (near Huruma in Nairobi) that sells goat meat. Thanks though
There is a cult of beef choma sufuria from butcheries here.
Good job bro
Thank you
That bridge would have been built by the late Authur Magugu he used to be the MP for Githunguri and also was the transport minister during the Moi regime
Seems like Magugu was a legend !
People used to do car wash at that bridge now looks overgrown

It's a good one but you missed the famous Choma Sufuria in Kwamaiko town. the only place you can get the best meat.
Too bad bana
You didn't even show us the new proposed market.
Oh really? there is always a next time
You have not mentioned the famous kambui school for the hearing impaired

That's interesting,I didn't know kiamako is a village near ruiru,I know Nairobi kiamako!!,I think because I was born and grow up in Nairobi and other side of kiambu, Kikuyu 😮
You are not alone, most people confuse the two towns a lot. This one is Kwa Maiko, the Nairobi one is Kiamaiko
Ok, got it
There’s kiamaiko and Kwamaiko
You can not talk about kwa maiko without mentioning the name of Harry thuku also another media personality from the area is rose kimotho former owner of kameme fm
Wow! I never knew about that man, thanks for the updates!
Kambui Dispensary, was the only place where young boys used to get cut prior 1990, we walked for miles to visit Mr Gitahi for the privilege!! hahaha
Hahha real history right there!
Like boys and you go first you have to wait for one to be cut ✂️😂😂😂be a man
Gitahi 😂😂😂😂
nowadays they do the English cut😢
My sister went to Kambui girls. It was Ok
Kwa maiko is not complete without showing a sign of the old Agip petrol station.

@@Villagetotowntv yeah...I think tunapenda kupiga kelele sana hehee
Sad to see how Kwa Maiko is neglected by the local government , back in days this town used to look better the petrol stations where a bit well kept.
Really? probably they still consider ot a small town, and yet its all grown and deserve more attention
Am shocked too I was there some few yrs ago and it was a bit better
Lone traveller, did you see any nyama choma jont?
I didn't spot any
VERY INTERESTING DOCUMENTARY ON KWA MAIKO YET THE AREA HAD A MINISTER FOR TRANSPORT CUM MP WHO COULDN'T FIX THE ROAD.
Thank you Lydia, which transport Minister?
Arthur Magugu. Most of the worn out tarmac in Kiambu roads are from his stint as Minister of Health, Finance and Transport in Moi's govt.
Hapo umeonyesha kwa mto panaitwa Mariigí..Damn nimeona hiyo bara bara nkaskia kauchungu fulani since we buried our aunt hapo tu few meters and she died in my hands...weuh...Kwamaiko na Gathanjí ziko same WhatsApp group aki
