I agree wholeheartedly, at a price point of around 160 it would make more sense. Now I see many options for the 8700g price, option which have a decent processor and a decent gpu in them. A CPU with 4 or 6 powerful cores is still quite enough for gaming. The 8-cores in the 8700g seem overdoing it and it ramps up the price.

@@xismxisti i heard that's a BIOS problem because AMD forgot to disable power capping on the 8700G and 8600G, so it behaves as if it was in a laptop. Should be fixed soon
If you used afmf by yourself you would know that afmf is just Marketing. Those fps are just the fps number, its doesnt feel like the double of it, more like half of it.. extremly delayed also.. maybe just buggy or something but for me it didnt work well.

Remember Guys, 8700G is limited to PCIE 4.0, and has ONLY 8 lanes for the dedicated GPU (PCIE 8x, which is the same as a PCIE 3.0 16X). This also shows how much loss you have putting a 4090 in PCIE 3.0, and why 4.0 still have some space for dGPU peformance
Well to compensate that GPU usage loss with the 4090, don't go for such power hungry GPUs, go for the 4060Ti or 4070 or 4070 Super. That way you have higher GPU usage which means stable / even FPS.

What makes the difference in this comparison is the 7800X3d's cash memory. This can be clearly seen in the Microsoft Flight simulator test when a difference of 59 percent occurred. In Hogarts legacy there was a difference of 30 percent. It is worth remembering that this processor has 16 MB of cash memory.
Yeah i hated when 7800X3D iGPU was horribly nerfed after 5700G where made me skip it. If you dont like owning GPUs buy the G editions. We are on DDR5 and later in 2 years we will have DDR6 or CAM3 RAMs DDR6 will handle games just fine with no blocky GPUs.
Can't you do 1440P tests to see the difference between the CPU side of the 8700G vs 7800X3D. I know that will be more of a GPU benchmark but it will close the deal for people who'd want to buy a 4080++ graphics card in the future as an upgrade path buying the 8700G and want to play on higher resolution.

CPU Concept: Ryzen 7 8700GX3D or G3D or whatever, it has the same iGPU but has 3D VCache for better than R7 7700X performance in the future. And as a plus, you got a more efficient APU than non 3D. It won't happen though.
Dude do your research on 3D VCache and on why the G processors have halved L3 cache. You say it won't happen but don't seem to know why it won't happen as you wouldn't have posted that comment if you did.

Long story short: 8700g it's better if you don't have a dedicated GPU. Any games are playable/barely playable at 1080 low. HONEST ADVICE: wait till September/November '24 when the new generation of Amd strix chips will be released, the iGPU 980m can finally play at 1080 low/mid with decent Fps and let you save the money of a Gpu

Этот камень имеет смысл только в mini-itx сборках, где дискретка может не влезать. Ну и конечно же корпоративные системники в сборе, от всяких HP, DELL, Lenovo и т.п. Про сборку под апгрейд, очевидно 7500f лидирует. В будущем можно будет легко слить его на лохито не потеряв много шекелей на амортизации и поставить Ряженку 9ххх. r7 8700G is an excellent processor till date, more than enough raw cpu power, dedicated ai engine, efficient, as strong as gtx 1060 3gb rx 780m gpu with native ray tracing,dx12_2 feature lvl, rsr, afmf support, which will prolong its lifespan much more that previous apus, the only cons is it's cache memory and only pcie 4.0 support which is a not deal breaker if it comes within a reasonable price

If we assume that you draw 200W for 5 hours every single day, that's 1KW per day. Times 30 days, in my country it amounts to $2.5 monthly, and $30 annually. Where do you live that your electricity is such a big concern?
@@ivangerginov5648the problem is theres another technology called rtx 4060 which only draw like 100w higher or less with much better performance compared to this igpu technology, with this kind of igpu performance and that much power drawing its not really power efficient piece of technology but i get the idea of the compactness of the dimension size of that igpu
Not saying the 8700g in itself is shitty, but the pricepoint, which can vary from 320 to 400 euros, depending on where you are located, is bad and will drive away many buyers, due to the fact that with that money you get a proper cpu and gpu combo.
It would be more interesting if you have tested with a RX 7600 or RTX 4060. Because someone who buys a Ryzen 8700G wants to save some money on GPU to later on buy one.
The best apu amd made was the 2200G at 100 dollars it had 4 cores 8 vega compute units and matched the performance of the higher 2400G at 179 dollars after that amd just didnt put more graphics units in their lower core count chips

It totally sucks. On my 8700K in FULL hd with a 3080 ti, with the same settings in CP 2077, I get almost 160 FPS. Why is Intel being tested in 4K, and this is a misunderstanding from AMD in 1080p?

The main problem with this channel is that it does useless tests for me and for many other viewers, it's a mystery to me why they can't add the game Black Desert Online to the test.
The iGPU RDNA 2 is way less powerful than the 780M. It explains the 27 fps only. Unfortunately it is what it is. I hope in the future the AMD engineers are be able to fit the powerful iGPUs in the hight end CPUs.

8700g might sound expensive, being around $300, but for budget builds it's excellent as budget graphics cards like RTX 4060 start around $300.

This 8700G processor is what you're going to put on an average card and not a top of the line one. At most a 4070TI.

The best apu amd made was the 2200G at 100 dollars it had 4 cores 8 vega compute units and matched the performance of the higher 2400G at 179 dollars after that amd just didnt put more graphics units in their lower core count chips

It totally sucks. On my 8700K in FULL hd with a 3080 ti, with the same settings in CP 2077, I get almost 160 FPS. Why is Intel being tested in 4K, and this is a misunderstanding from AMD in 1080p?

because the 7800x3d has extra cache that allows faster memory usage. 8700g is just standard cpu.
It has something to do with PCIE lane access. The R7 8700g has access to x8 while the R7 7800x3D has x16.
It's much worse for the ryzen 5 8000, x4.

The iGPU RDNA 2 is way less powerful than the 780M. It explains the 27 fps only. Unfortunately it is what it is. I hope in the future the AMD engineers are be able to fit the powerful iGPUs in the hight end CPUs.

В СНГ стоимость 8700G 400$. За эту сумму можно взять 7500f, материнскую плату и комплект ОЗУ. Напоминаю, что 8700G ещё без платы и памяти. Если брать стоимость системы в сборе, то к 7500f вы докупите дискретку, которая будет шустрее встройки 8700G. При этом в будущем сможете проапгрейдить ПК сначала на 9ххх Ряженку, а после сменить дискретку. Также 7500f легко улетит на вторичном рынке с меньшими потерями вложений.
8700G больше потеряет на амортизации. А при продаже вам придётся сразу же делать апгрейд на 9ххх Райзен+докупать дискретку. Что ломает всю логику поэтапного апгрейда и повышает количество финансовых вложений.
Данный камень хорошо зайдёт в коммерческие сборки для офисов. Для дома есть смысл только в mini-itx сборках.
