You'd think we'd be forgetting over a hundred years later, but we're not. The emotion is still as raw as 50 years ago when I first had the Honour of carrying the colours on Remembrance Sunday. They would be amazed if they knew. I hope if they can look down on us, that it brings them some comfort.
Thank-you, to each military family member that participated. That is to say, we hold such reverence for the playing of The Last Post. Truly, a beautiful way to say, we shall never forget. I'm NY Toms very British future wife MD, Veteran, Middle E. & Cont. of Africa
I was here in the '90s paying tribute to irish twins lost, one in a marked grave, one in an unmarked grave. Such a moving experience, an experience each 6oung European should experience, last week forget. 💕💔
The buglers are from the Ypres Fire Brigade. They have been performing the Last Post every evening since 1919, except for 1940-1944 when the occupying Germans forbade the ceremony.
Thanks again, we have been here a few times , to visit my great uncle ,Patrick. He never went home.
Thanks for his service, our freedom! We owe these men which names are engraved in these walls, and their families as well. A Belgian citizen.

Fortunate to be there in 2014 (100 years since start of the Great War) and as it happened, Australia was remembered on that occasion. Lest We Forget.
