    Ah yes, since they wanted to build Raw around Nash and make him look like the biggest badass of all time, it makes extra sense for them not to wait to actually be back in wrestling shape and instead rush the storyline through the door right after he came back from a long-term injury. Triple H actually made a good point about the Cena/Vince thing. If you're waiting for the pay-off of seeing Hogan get his hands on Vince and you have someone else come in and get physical with him, it kind of undermines it a little bit.

    • @xEmpress95
      @xEmpress95 26 дней назад +5

      Especially a rookie on his second week of television. There's plenty of authority figures and big names you could have him do this to. Hell, you could've had him slap Shawn Michaels and insert John into the 10 man tag and spin that off into John beating X-Pac & Big Show before losing to Nash ahead of Nash-Triple H, or even given John a lucky win over Nash by having Triple H bash him in the head with a sledgehammer to build their feud.
      You don't interfere with the Hogan-Vince story, you keep RVD out of a squash match, you have John slapping one of the most controversial and powerful people in the company in Shawn Michaels, the NWO beats down John in that 10 man tag (provided Nash & X-Pac don't end up in their unfortunate circumstances).
      John gets to work with one of the most stable hands in the company in X-Pac. X-Pac gets a decent story that might keep him in the company. John gets to FU Big Show on a big PPV. Nash gets his feud with Trips. AND Nash/Trips put over John by giving John possibly the only win anyone gets over Nash before he faces Triple H, leaving Nash pissed and Triple H looking like a big time babyface.
      Also squashes any idea that the Kliq are in it for themselves as this is no longer just Nash running through the roster to put over Triple H since John gets the first pinfall before Triple H conquers him. You also then maybe set up for a post-Cena/Nash feud once he loses to Triple H. And if Cena wins that, you set Cena up for a mini-story with Triple H where the cocky rap prick Cena turns his arrogance over to Triple H because he just proved he can still beat Nash without Triple H's help, which means he's on the level of the World Champion. Which means he should be next in line for Trips belt.
      Triple H can beat him cuz he's still a rookie, Cena can go for a handshake as a sign of respect and Triple H can either take it and settle the beef, or blow him off, laying the seeds for a potential heel turn on Shawn Michaels. Wrestling really isn't that hard to book to be honest.

      @@ComaAlpha Some stories are just not meant to be told. And honestly I'm not familiar enough with the landscape of wrestling back then to build any consistent and beneficial narratives for the talent at the time. That said, maybe you could work the egg/chicken scenario into a Godly Ascension kind of gimmick, tie it back into Egyptian mythology, or to Garuda from Hinduism or Quetzacoatl from the Aztec or one of the Mesopotamian bird dieties. Give him a proper lucha libre mask/bird design rather than making him a literal chicken, and have the story be that he was delivered to us as a God of Lucha Libre. Quetzalcoatl will probably work best since the God is part of the Mexican pantheon. And you could then actually push Hector as a real talent with a cool as entrance & outfit all from him hatching from a goddamn bird egg at Survivor Series.

    Honestly, it sucks for Nash biut the product was probably better that summer. The NWO was completely directionless by this point. Michaels would have eventually made his comeback and his match with HHH that year was much better than whatever would have happened with Nash (at least judging by the match they did have the next year.)The Reign of Terror was most likely always going to happen, as HHH was moving over to Raw to fued with the NWO and once that was over, his backstage power would have worked out the same.
