We quote off of time and resources required, about $125 an hour for shooting and editing. We pay our creatives (videographers and editors) $75-100 an hour for shooting and editing. If you're charging less than $200 a shoot, you would have to do 2 shoots every single weekday just to earn $6,000 per month revenue. Our real estate listing photos start at $300, videos start at $500. Here in Tampa, FL. Did 30 images and a walkthrough video for a modern home in South Tampa for $750 a few weeks ago.
@@OriginaldoBo you say you work smarter not harder yet you are telling everyone to do 2 shoots every day for $200 each. It takes you 3-4 shoots to even earn the same amount as 1 of our shoots so I don't see how you think you're working "smarter not harder" looks like you earn about $6k-8k a month max by the numbers you gave us. Maybe save up some of that money you've been making plenty of and move out of Hernando county. (even though there's plenty of work available in Hernando for $1k+ per shoot, there are $1 mil+ homes, you just have to position yourself in their market instead of these $200k 1500sqft homes where agents can't afford to pay more.)
@@OriginaldoBo We did 2 videos in Hernando for $800 for a new agent at the height of lockdown/pandemic scare. 1800 sqft walkthrough and an introduction video.. Instead of saying "you won't get that" you should be asking yourself how
I've been doing real estate photography for over a decade now. I've raised my prices a few times over this course of time. Initially I apprenticed with another photographer and I was aware that I was not capable of creating a very polished product and thus I billed accordingly. Furthermore I did not have a background in business so I had to carefully and slowly make changes without turning away what clients I did have. Gradually the quality of my work got better through on the job trial/error and experimentation and I increased my rates accordingly. Factoring cost of living and other impacts this type of work has on one's life is critical. As a self employed person I don't take days off if unless it's something important. The time spend behind the computer editing photos has taken its toll as well. These are the prices we pay which we don't see until we spent a few years doing a type of work. This type of work is as technical and creative as the person wishes it to be. One can treat it like a burger flipping job or as a prestige white collar career. It depends on the individual, how disciplined and driven they are to elevate the craft.
@@jimfray3742 If large companies didn't outsource their processing for pennies the profession of real estate photography would be much more developed and command greater prices which would in turn elevate the craft. keep in mind I fell into this field via my passion for photography. It's slowed down a bit but there is a trend of racing towards the bottom even today. Undercutting other photographers because as you say they are chasing "crumbs" Often it's the ones which already have a primary source of income and aren't sensitive to the impact it has on the field as a whole. This is especially problematic because photography is not regulated like other professions are thus skill level and competence are ambiguous and arbitrary. consequently, the photographer needs to build a portfolio to prove that competence. Formal education is not a solution. as we know there are numerous educated professionals which are burdened by loan debt. The tried and true method of entering into a skilled work space is through mentorship because one's mentor will teach one the entire scope of the profession not simply its technical. Unfortunately schools do not equip people with the necessary knowledge to enter work force.
Thanks for sharing. I have heard that realtors are on the cheap side with their budgets, but man, you must have your editing and shooting down to be super quick. At those prices it seems like it's tough to put money aside for insurance, vehicle, travel, gas, and the biggest...gear.. Hope the FL market goes up for ya man!
Thanks for this explanation to charge for photo and video. It is so ironic that agents that sell homes make 2.5 percent commission on million dollar homes which is $25K, yet might be "nickel and diming" at low rates when hiring photographers. In Canada in the cities small homes start at $1 Million Canadian dollars, or higher for under 2000 sq. ft. However, the longer established agents will pay more for high quality photo and video and those are the ones photographers want to work with. Based on travel and expenses, we should not charge too low.
Good info bud, I actually work real estate and photography on my own, as for the real-estate photography my base here in nc starts at $150 for photos up to 2000 sf and I do 10 cents per sf above that. I like it because it gives me more flex to bring it down or help them out if the price gets out of control and has worked very well. Good agents won't mind a price that matches the work. Listing agents here make 3% of the purchase price of the home. Plus it looks good to their client that the agent is making sure to cover details like photos using a pro. And yes..... I charge myself for the photos I do on my own properties...... real estate tax write off 🤣
Im in the Seattle area, we are able to charge quite a bit more. I have my pricing set per sq ft but in package and al a cart form to get agents a good amount of options for what they want to do with the listing. I just did a 1800Sq ft home yesterday photo, video and drone photo video for $635. I have someone else do all the editing and saves me time so I can shoot more. I did an $8million listing a few weeks ago but charged $2,250 because it was alot of work. I dont like working for cheap, I know there's alot of photographers around here that charge less then I do but Im shooting anywhere from 8-20 listings a week.
My buddy charging 1 basis point of the purchase price, UPTO 30 images and UPTO 6 mins of video. Additional shots or video footage are by estimate of time at $100/hour (1 hour minimum). Love this because anyone who wants to hire you knows your fees without even calling you, so when they DO call you, they are Pre-Sold, little haggling and it also gives realtors some idea of their selling budget without the guess work or calling around to get prices! Shots are digital, video is digital or DVD. Example: a house priced/listed at $350,000 would be charged $350. Easy peasy. Just wanted to share. Thank you.
Great tip on not nickel and diming clients and creating a tier system. It sounds like a better method than sq ft where if the house is a 100 ft or so over a package then it kind of debunks the system. This is clear cut and providing examples is a sure way to get more business, thanks for the gems!
Great video. Excellent advice mentioning that we as the photographers can also fire agents. It's a super important perspective, because difficult agents don't suddenly change and become amicable. The more time you waste with the unappreciative, the less time you have to forge new, more agreeable agents. There has to be mutual respect. Having that conversation and setting proper expectations up front makes for a much smoother transaction and can lead to more work.
Ken, I am getting ready to retire from my career as a corporate jet pilot/instructor, and love flying my drones! There are not many aerial photographers in my area, and local real estate firms that I have spoken with are excited to be able to obtain drone footage for their listings. This video was extremely helpful for me to get an idea on where to set my pricing. Thank you for taking the time to address this. No many RUclips drone & tech reviewers address this area of the business, or are not willing to share what they charge. Thanks again, I am a subscriber and look forward to more excellent content from you!😃🛩
FL is different because houses can turn over fast here. You can do a shoot, show up, and the house is already under contract, or at least a few offers in. Houses up north don't move as fast because... well... more people from tax to feck areas want to sell that $600K bungalow up north, and move to FL so they can buy a better home, bigger home, in a warmer climate for almost half of the cost of a house in NY etc. Rare to fine native Floridians in the major burbs of any county
I'm surprised the quality you provide for the money. Well done. I find my agents always say they want everything I offer, but not only do they not like the price, I start to feel like I am nickel and diming. I have started trying to cater "packages" to different agents based on their "wants and needs" it's a fine line between making money and charging too much. It's a competitive market.
In Toronto I found out real eatate photos and a “3D tour” package go for around $150-200. Realtors love to lowball for the photos because there’s a lot of competition out there, and houses sell no matter what out here
I'm in central Wisconsin, and pricing is the same as what you're doing! Right now its a fast market and agents can get away with quick click pics on cell phone and the house sells in hours... so they don't want to invest. I think that investment will change when housing sales slow down and they go back to fight to get a listing sold.....then they'll add u our services to bring value for their commission 😉👍🏻
Just starting RE photography and this is awesome info! Pricing is a touchy subject and you covered it spot on. Really makes sense. My area looks like a lot of cell photos so it will be interesting to see what agents will allow but I’m pumped to get started. Taking my 107 next week and have been on ‘hold’ waiting on that. Appreciate you and the channel.
Dude...Wow..I’m not going to lie I thought your price point was much more. Especially for the quality of your work you do. This is why I have no interest in residential real estate and I’m in the Silicon Valley. For me Construction Progress monitoring and commercial real estate is where it’s at. Well done! Ken.

I appreciate you going in depth about what you charge and how you approach it in a no-nonsense type of way. Wishing you continued success! One follow up question, when you started it, did you see yourself working only 9-5 M-F on this or does also demand like evenings, weekends and you can charge more as well for your time for those "emergencies", just have to have it today type of jobs/clients? Thanks, Brian
I charge by bedrooms and bathrooms and by the amount of photos and by simple or advanced editing. So I start at 100 for 10 photos of a 2bed 1bath unit. I increase with yard or evening shots. Then I charge for extras such as floor plans. Your prices seem cheap lucky realtors
This is some great info and info I wish I had when I started out years ago! I shoot in Northern VA & Central VA and pricing looks like about a 20% over your market in FL. Great job on providing some no nonsense knowledge that for some reason a lot of photographers don't like to share.
Do you know anything about the real estate video market in southeast Virginia (hr area)? I'm starting a real estate video business and I don't know a whole lot about the market down here. Any info would help a lot. Thanks!
@@jedvolkmanfilms5284 I certainly do. I used to shoot in that area all around Tidewater from Williamsburg to Norfolk. What kind of info are you looking for?
@@GeraldBertramPhotography Do you know what real estate videographers charge for houses over 1million dollars in the area between Richmond and va beach? My target market is mainly Williamsburg area. I've seen some real estate videography services in Richmond and va beach but there haven't been any high quality videos made in the Williamsburg area. If you want to take a look at a couple of my RE videos to see what my work looks like they're on my RUclips channel. Also, do you think that agents want video done on their houses? I've gotten interest from some realtors but it seems like a lot of them don't show much interest when I reach out to them. I'm shooting a video for a 2 million (7,100 sq ft) dollar house in Williamsburg in the next week or so and I was just wondering if you had any idea as to what other videographers in the hr area would charge for a 2 minute cinematic real estate video. Thanks in advance!!
Great information. I was really surprised. In the end, you have to price yourself to what the market will bear. Unfortunately, it's sometimes difficult for folks to see the value in good video and photography work.
I'm a newbie...What are the motion shots inside the homes done with? Surely not a drone? But you tell me. I'm a real estate investor entering into drone photography...
I had the same experience just as a commercial photographer before the Drone industry. Do what you do say I value your information as I am looking to up my drone game
My sister in law just got her real estate agent. I enjoy photography and she recently got me in contact with the people who contract the photographer out and this will help me get started thanks
I hope you have raised your prices since this video. I’m in Alabama. And my prices are more. I do 2-6 houses a day. No push back from realtors about my prices. Houses are appraising at 7% more this year 2021-22 and going for over asking. Gas is more and so on. Your clients are making much more money now. The same number of houses come on the mkt they just sell so fast. My realtors are top producers and the photography is part of their branding.
I gotta admit, I was shocked by your prices but at the same time, it made every bit of sense because of the market area you are working in. I’m in Southern California near Palm Springs and I know others charge more due to the market area. This video was very helpful, and I can’t wait to get started with doing drone real estate shoots. I just ordered my Mavic 3, and recently past my part 107.
Very nice. I do real estate with just one client by request. We include videos from drone, indoor/outdoor video as well as photos in/out. Like you, simple pricing. 1/500 of a % of the listing price. It doesn't matter if it's a mobile home or a million dollar listing. We treat each home the same. We're just starting out but so far so good.
💥✨💥 Thank you so much for this info and it’s greatly appreciated. I had the feeling and now I’m convinced. Real estate photography pays pennies for all of the time spent. I’ll stick to an 8 hour wedding for $2800. $145 for a basic home..? The drive back and forth, the shoot, editing time and package delivery... no way Jose. 🤟🏼 And did you say INCLUDING drone footage.?? HAA
Totally agree though after CODB and Billable units and wanting to make 60K/year salary I set around $3400 for a full 8 hour day with just one photographer. Anything else will be extra. (8 Hour shoot time, 1.5 Hour travel time, 16 Hour Culling/Editing, 3 hour client meetings, 3 hour admin time) and all of those are on the low end. So to make 60K/year at 3,400 per wedding, I would need to do roughly 30 weddings in a calendar year time frame (CODB 105,000 / $3400) So for me to make 60K/year pre-tax my business revenue needs to make 105,000. Hopefully that makes sense. Best of luck with your weddings!
Thank you for an eye opener! Prices vary depending on location and size here in the UK 🇬🇧 if I’m honest I was surprised with your prices but as you said you wanted to stay busy. Seeing the quality of your work means that your customers are getting a great deal. Keep up with videos as I look forward to them!
Just found your video. I retired from a career of selling engineering plastics. I've also built and flown drones for a number of years. Just got my FAA 107 license. I want to start a business doing primarily aerial photography. After watching a few videos it appears I may have to consider the stills to make myself more marketable. This will be a pert time job and I'm not looking to make the big money. I also own a home in Bonita Springs, FL with my daughter. She just happens to be a professional web designer and works with real estate companies. She is stressing to me to get a portfolio going! That's something I need to work on and I'm thinking getting my start working for someone else. I appreciate your video here and good luck! I subscribed...
Pricing seems reasonable and IMO as long as you're averaging $30+ per hour of work you put into the job I feel that you and the client are getting your money's worth. I did web design in the late 90s for 10 years and made a killing because so few designers were out there. When Word Press gained popularity around 2005 along with websites that offered "build your own sites" I knew it was time to get out as few people were going to pay 1k+ for a bespoke website anymore. With photography and videography there isn't as much competition so it's more of a lucrative job and I wish you continued success.
Hi Ken, when you say you charge $175 for a basic most video. How long do you spend at that house shooting ? Half a day ? And how much time for post production ?.....Thanks.
Regardless of how anyone structures the charges to the customer you need to cover the costs of doing business and make a profit; Overhead, materials/equipment, labor, profit. Use that formula and structure your charges to the customer however you want. Hopefully you’re competitive. If not, look to the costs of doing business. Oh, and make them sign a clear concise contract.
I really don't know why people would fight you on your work or pricing. The cold calling is actually something I did as well. Your videos look incredible
Originaldobo I've seen alot of people go based on the commission the agent makes so that's also another option. I don't ever think you should be afraid to be one of the more expensive photographer/videographers either because you have quality work and if it helps their sell go through then your value is worth more

Great information! The biggest thing I have learned about pricing is what you stated at the end. Always have clear confirmation on what is being provided and what it will cost! The tip about finding good realtors to work for is huge! I am very blessed to work for a group of GREAT agents with clear expectations. Thank you for the great content!
Thank you for the information. I am in Kentucky, as you said the market varies on where you are located. This really helped with pricing, I know that I am somewhat in the right ball park. I also do work fore Real Estate, I do the photos, drone photos / video, and just in the last couple of months added VR tours. Thank you again for the awesome information.
Love the last bit of the video.... I am so selective of the agents I work with now, If you arent a agent who cares about every little detail, I wont work with them!! This way, with the agents I work with, we all have the same expectations.
Thank you so very much Ken. I’ve had some thoughts of getting part 107 certified and doing some real estate work to supplement retirement income, and to get me off my ass and doing something. How to fairly price jobs was my concern. Your ideas are excellent & insightful & instructive.
Awesome! Thank you for the tips! I share my videos on RUclips and Facebook and someone referred a friend to me who was selling their house. It was my first house and of course it was for a friend from church and it was just going to be a favor for them. I even went in with a nice attitude that I’m doing this for free. Took me about an hour and They ended up giving me a $100 gift card for Red Lobster! Went home and told my wife get ready for date night dinner! 👍
Here in Miami the market fluctuates too, and continuous video is the standard to avoid any editing, cheap agents wont pay more than $300 for video and photos, it's a shame that the market is getting plagued with cheap labor and agents that want to take advantage of the current situation, like you said we have to cherry pick the best agents to keep business going, I definitely do deep discounts to my top agents to stay relevant, the good thing is that the market is going to increase in the next few months and the prices should hike as well.

Great info and well presented, if the listener actually hears what you said. Yes, you gave us the basic pricing information your charge, but more importantly you gave the reasons and how you worked to determine the prices you charge for your area. You also mentioned that video is still in its infancy for real estate. Everyone does stills, even bad stills, it it is expected, and for now that is where you need to be priced right to make a living. On the other hand video is starting to be seen as a great selling tool, but seems to have not yet been accepted as a necessity like stills. I think you are on the right track to continue to build your video side. The snippets I have seen are awesome, and make me wish I had the money to buy those houses. Very nice work. I also like that fact that you put it out there that you need to try and shoot as close to final as possible to keep the costs down, but for an up charge enhancements are available. Good product for a good price, but if you want extra eye catchers, or enhancements, they take more time so there is an additional cost. But the bottom line is if you deliver a quality product, at an expected price, you can grow a good business. Thanks.
I have a ton of questions actually. I am doing initial research into the market potential for my area. Don't worry I am not near you. 😎 Do you find having really low prices when first starting out is important and then moving the price point up once you gain some traction? This would be a part time job for me. I still want to give it my full attention. Shoots would be scheduled early morning or afternoons, and weekends, then I would edit in the evenings.
Thank you for being honest and sharing your prices! I appreciate it! I do some real estate photography on the side, but I am no expert by any means. Have you ever considered adding virtual tours to your services? I’m up north and this allows me to charge some pretty good prices between photos, videos, and virtual tour. Using a 360 camera, you can do a professional looking tour in no time. It’s really helped my business. Awesome video!
In a short and brief period of time, the knowledge that I garnered from this video has been astronomically more interesting than any college course that I'd be willing to pay. One day, I'll enter into this market and as a result of this video my confidence in dealing with people has skyrocketed. Thanks 😊!
I feel like sq footage would be a weird way to price for drone work? unless you're doing a fly/walk through. but not for outside shots? I never thought about that
0-2000 Sq ft $250.00 over 2000 sq ft .125 per square foot rounded up to the nearest $25.00. Includes Virtual tour, Drone Aerial stills, and video and 40 -65 still images. Add 3D walk through to the virtual tour and Zillow 300.00 minimum 20 cents per square foot above 2000 sq ft. This video is at least a year old, prices and inflation are rising. I completed over 150 listings last year, not getting rich but paying the bills. My clients listings average 2700 sq ft. In addition, Accessory building basic 125.00 each, living space sq ft pricing. If you’re providing packages for under 250,00 find something else to do, your dragging down the industry.
Great video, it's interesting to see what kind of income you can earn with this kind of work. It seems really appealing at times, but it's the sales/marketing side of things that will keep me away. (that and my lack of skills).
I have people in my market thinking $100 is a lot. I charge a flat rate of $125 and $150 for added aerials. Realtors don't use me thinking I'm too expensive
Hey Dude, found your channel saw 2-3 of your videos really like your vibe, I'm trying to break into the real estate market im also in Florida Miami area to be exact, I can confirm images are very cheap down here. So far I have done 2 shoots with 2 different agents I do have a package based pricing how ever the tier system is sounding very attractive I'll have to know more about it before I adobt it but glad to see youtube creators located in Florida 👍
Great vid! Can we get an update/follow up? Like how it is going now? I have a ton of gear but just starting out and I now am ready to make some side money to pay for it all.
I had an agent suggest payment after closing. What’s your thoughts on that? I’m not sure that’s a good idea since could be out time and money if house doesn’t sell and you’re trusting agent to pay later.
I have followed you for quite some time and appreciate the very valuable and honest information that you give. I own and run a newer media company out west that does photography and aerials. I do my pricing very similar to what you have stated. I wonder though, I have set up separate pricing for commercial property, for example, large storage unit properties, warehouses, and commercial strip malls. These are all larger properties thus your pricing would increase right? So my question is would you use a similar scale to your residential property pricing? I charge more for these commercial properties, but I find that often companies want to pay normal residential aerial property pricing and often pass me up. the bigger the properties the tighter the wallet it would seem. Any suggestions for commercial pricing?
I have a question. If you use your drone doing real estate as well as videoing the inside. And you charge money for that edit. Are you considered a commercial drone pilot? Or do you only have to get the license if your doing work specifically with a drone?
Where are you located in Florida doing this? I'm thinking of getting into this because I have 3 friends who do this and they tell me they cannot keep up with the demand and they will teach me everything and give me jobs to do. They work in West Palm and Ft. Lauderdale and they charge minimum $400 and up to $500 each home for just a photo shoot and more if they want a basic exterior video. Interior video is even more.
Great video, it has me in the right area of pricing I need to try to be in, and you are so right about being cheap can deter people, so right, they wanna no whats wrong or whats so special, and in family flooring business dad always said don't let a bad client drag you down.👍
2 years and housing market skyrocketing later, have your prices increased a lot? Being in a market that took off (my personal house value doubled in 4 years), I raised my photos rates quite a bit. I don't sell myself as the cheap option though.
How do you deliver the photos and video to the client, email, thumb drive, SD card or some sort of cloud service? I'm really thinking about getting into this market i have been an avid drone flyer since the phantom 3.
I have a drone that can do automated aerial shots of a targeted subject, I'm interested in seeing how this could work as a side thing for me, so I want to ask, how did you get started in this? I'm studying for my Part 107 now as I know it's required to make money with the drone. Thanks!
I think your approach is very fair and honest thank you for the heads up that gives me a lot of great ideas, appreciate your views on this subject very much
Hi Ken...is your base tier pricing of $145 for 2300 SF and less a per hour charge or for the whole job? I get that this may or may not include color correction and grading, still I'm wondering as asked Please reply Regards PS...I do not like 24 fps...choppy. This was hollywood' cheap way out

I charge myself for the photos I do on my own properties...... real estate tax write off 🤣
Looking at this comment. I live in NC as well and looking to get into the drone business. Do you have a drone social media page?
Im in the Seattle area, we are able to charge quite a bit more. I have my pricing set per sq ft but in package and al a cart form to get agents a good amount of options for what they want to do with the listing. I just did a 1800Sq ft home yesterday photo, video and drone photo video for $635. I have someone else do all the editing and saves me time so I can shoot more. I did an $8million listing a few weeks ago but charged $2,250 because it was alot of work. I dont like working for cheap, I know there's alot of photographers around here that charge less then I do but Im shooting anywhere from 8-20 listings a week.
how do you approach reators/people selling homes ? Do you cod call them or like what
My buddy charging 1 basis point of the purchase price, UPTO 30 images and UPTO 6 mins of video.
Thanks again, I am a subscriber and look forward to more excellent content from you!😃🛩
@@OriginaldoBo Thank you Ken! Keep up the great work!
Thank you for including your pricing, instead of leaving it at “call your competition”.
It's a competitive market.
where do you live? I just cannot wrap my head around 350 being a lot lol
Florida
In Toronto I found out real eatate photos and a “3D tour” package go for around $150-200. Realtors love to lowball for the photos because there’s a lot of competition out there, and houses sell no matter what out here
$300 is base in Chicagoland. I mean for a $150k house you can easily ask $300
@@itsbeiko with drone footage too?
@@OriginaldoBo Where bouts?
Well done! Ken.
How about remote coastal PTZ cameras live streaming up in the ice and snow of North America. WE have the cool arctic light. Streaming International Polar Partnership Boat building Projects being developed around the world would be educational. Monitoring the young and old trades people working together in healthy ways on, "Artifices for Society", as Bucky would say. Nothing cooler than building and sailing contemporary vessels around the world demonstrating and teaching green and blue renewable power systems with permaculture principles guiding all countries to help the planet.
It's tougher in Fla. Can't wait for RID to clean out the deadwood as it were. They'll hire the $40 sloppy work here.
what do you mean by construction progress monitoring? People pay for that? tell me more!
@@carlnostrand9388 I do live-streaming let’s talk
Let those people do it themselves if they don't value it properly
Your work is amazing and something to be very proud of! Enjoy your success because you deserve it my brother, intelligence should never be cheep. 😉😎
I'm a newbie...What are the motion shots inside the homes done with? Surely not a drone? But you tell me. I'm a real estate investor entering into drone photography...
Your clients are getting a great deal because your work is first class 👍
Your Welcome
I had the same experience just as a commercial photographer before the Drone industry. Do what you do say I value your information as I am looking to up my drone game
Great info and straight up . Love it. Thanks for the upload .
Thank You for a candid video. Much needed in this industry.
Thanks for giving it a watch
1/500 of 1% of $1,000,000 is $20
💥✨💥 Thank you so much for this info and it’s greatly appreciated.
That disclaimer at the beginning was golden. Big respect 💪🏽
Always appreciate your openness and being straight up. Becoming more rare every day 🙌✊.
I don't ever think you should be afraid to be one of the more expensive photographer/videographers either because you have quality work and if it helps their sell go through then your value is worth more
Rick Britton, Your amazing Ken, I love your honesty, I am so happy for you and Zack, at Drone Works, Wow going from being a mechanic to taking a chance on a new occupation, and finding a trade that you love is great, Only in America. I Wish that you are Zack, would fly my Autel evo pro 6k before it is shipped, I told Zack that I had plenty of patience, waiting for my Drone, I am a very new Drone hobbyist, I pray that I will have half the intelligence to just be a good and responsible pilot like you and Zack are, I don't have the money to purchase every great drone that comes out, I am going to try to save up and purchase the Duell camera, I'll be 61 this month, I will probably be 6 foot in the ground before I can afford the camera,. I do feel good that I stop purchase at BH ,they email me and said they had one ready to ship to me, but I know in my heart that Drone works is the place to purchase all Drones. Sincerely Rick from Mo and God bless you and your family and Drone Works
Very insightful, You are right at the beginning people who don’t pay your bills cannot tell you what to charge your clients
"You can also fire agents" that's gold right there!
I do what I can 😬
Thank you for the information. I am in Kentucky, as you said the market varies on where you are located. This really helped with pricing, I know that I am somewhat in the right ball park. I also do work fore Real Estate, I do the photos, drone photos / video, and just in the last couple of months added VR tours. Thank you again for the awesome information.
@OriginaldoBo…. What drone would you recommend for inside/ outside filming? Squeezing through door frames can be tricky…
As an upcoming business owner, thank you for some guidance!
Awesome!!! Thanks for sharing and keeping it real. This video was super helpful. Truly appreciate you keeping it real.
I have been doing aerial photography since 1992, and it is refreshing to see a video that is based on reality and real world marketing. Kudos to you.
Thanks John, it’s one of the more sensitive topics in the industry

Thanks.
Ci like your honesty without sugar coating
I have a ton of questions actually. I am doing initial research into the market potential for my area. Don't worry I am not near you. 😎
Do you find having really low prices when first starting out is important and then moving the price point up once you gain some traction?
This would be a part time job for me. I still want to give it my full attention. Shoots would be scheduled early morning or afternoons, and weekends, then I would edit in the evenings.
How I see it is you take off 3 zeros on whatever house you get like a $500,000 house you can charge $500 or $250,000 you can charge $250
Thanks for information, how much can you purchase 360 virtual Cam?
Great honest feedback. I feel very similar. I live in a smaller market in CNY, and pricing is so sensitive. Great job as always sir! Keep it up!

In a short and brief period of time, the knowledge that I garnered from this video has been astronomically more interesting than any college course that I'd be willing to pay.
One day, I'll enter into this market and as a result of this video my confidence in dealing with people has skyrocketed.

Do you just involve in styling the place or the relator is responsible for it? Do you just use your drone to shot the video by yourself?
Thanks
I feel like sq footage would be a weird way to price for drone work? unless you're doing a fly/walk through. but not for outside shots? I never thought about that
Hey! really like your page! what client gallery do you use to deliver photos and video?

Thanks fo this! We’ve seen a lot of inflation in the last 2 years. Any updates?
Interesting view of pricing. I personally go by listing price primarily. Larger price = larger commission = larger marketing budget.
$100 per every $100K
500K house? $500
$1,000,000 house? $1,000

As always, extremely helpful. To the point, no BS. Thank you.
I had an agent suggest payment after closing. What’s your thoughts on that? I’m not sure that’s a good idea since could be out time and money if house doesn’t sell and you’re trusting agent to pay later.
Absolutely not we are services providers. That’s like saying let me pay my cell bill if I don’t drop calls
Very good video ...I'm just starting out as a freelance photographer and your video made a lot of sense. Thankyou
I have a question. If you use your drone doing real estate as well as videoing the inside. And you charge money for that edit. Are you considered a commercial drone pilot? Or do you only have to get the license if your doing work specifically with a drone?
Yes that is commercial
When you’re talking about square footage are you talking about the house or the property?
Great advice. What type of camera are you using for your interior video? I was looking at a pocket two to shoot interior video. Any thoughts? Thanks
They are ok but not what I would purchase. You’ll want something with a interchangeable lens
