If you want to say thanks for any of my content you can always buy me a coffee - I don't actually drink coffee so any money received would be spent on used camping gear and the odd can of own-brand energy drink.

Here's the link to last year's 30L hiking backpack from Lidl. I much prefer the new 2024 version. ruclips.net/video/Znk11yabsJI/видео.html
As a comparison, I could get 28 of these at this price, for the amount I paid for my Fjallraven rucksack. LOL
@@lindsayshaw5091 😂 you could break 2 a month and still have 4 left after a year!
Very true Kev😂
@@lindsayshaw5091 but you like it? That's the main thing.
It's a great little sack for short days out, when you don't need to carry too much gear, absolute bargain 😊
You can use a flat insulation mat and put it in place of the bladder to stabilize and pad the bag ;-)
That is the way we carried the military backpack ;-)
I don't think it needs it as it's well padded, but that's a good suggestion.
@@TheWalkingKev Have a look at the "Bundeswehr Faltmatte".
I was able to get an original one. To sit on. I am not 18 any more, and even then your back hurts using those to sleep on. See it more like an "grab and pull out of Backpack to sit somewhere dry" utility. ;-)
You can sleep on one.
But you will curse the decision in the mid of the night-you will curse more in the morning ;-)
And walk funny for half an hour in the beginning of the rest of the trip every morning.
But to sit on and lay on for a short time-excellent. And useful to protect an inflatable mat.
And can be used to fan flames, make an improvised shelter against wind etc.
But for gods sake-don't use it as a sleep mat alone ;-)
Long time subscriber of your channel because of your reviews of these cheap/value for money gear!
Would be interesting to see how this ranks against the cheap de-cathlon 30L hiking packs which cost around £15-£20.
I've still yet to own anything from Decathlon. I'll try some of their gear one day I'm sure. Thanks for being a long term subscriber, it's much appreciated.
Got the last one at my local Lidl yesterday. It's perfect for a day hike. Thanks for the review!
Nice! Enjoy. I'm on a hill walk with mine currently!
This is a really helpful review thanks!
You're welcome!
👍👍👍
Now that looks like a definite bargain!
Some may comment that 'it probably won't last'. That said, at the very least, a great 'starter bag' for newbies who wish to 'test the water' .. or as you say, a light-duty, general-use backup.
A good share .. thanks. Take care ..
And it does have a 3 year warranty so you could use that if you had any issues.
Lots of extras for the money plus a good size
Great find
It's a great bag and you have to wonder how they can make it for £9.99!
Great review, thank you.....I'm off to my Lidl too - hope they've got them in stock! Keep up the good work.
Thanks Nigel. Good luck as for £9.99 I think they're great bags.
Great review, very professional. Take my money!
It's a great bag, feels way better than a tenner!
I have bought the Crivit Ultra Light walking sticks from Lidl £16 a pair, I have had them for over 2yrs and they are still working well. They have many key features you would find if you were to buy the equivalent sticks by Leki and you would be paying in excess of £100. If this rucksack is up to the same standard as the poles it would be worth a punt.
That's good to hear. I've got a couple of sleeping bags from Lidl / Aldi that seem decent as well as walking trousers, socks and tops. All good quality.
Right, I'm off to Lidl
Can't go wrong for £9.99!
I got the last one, thanks for your review I'll try it out on a day hike this weekend!
@@Chilternwildcamper nice. Hope it works out for you.
Outstanding revenue man, nicely elaborated!
Thanks, appreciate the kind words.
Very nice review video
Thanks, appreciate the kind words.
I got one of these this morning after seeing your review. Although the pack is quite versatile, I should warn any other large or tall backpackers that it's a little bit too small, and would likely suit more average height/build. The whistle on mine is also duff, so watch out for that too.
Thanks for sharing. I guess at this price point they try and cater for averages. It must be frustrating being taller than that as such a lot of hiking and camping gear becomes problematic. I often think a tent isn't quite long enough and I'm only 5ft 11!
I could do with a lightweight day sac, might have a look tomorrow!
Definitely worth checking out. I'm pleased with mine.
just got one for holiday, seems solid bag. cheers
Nice, hope it does well for you.
@@TheWalkingKev keep up the good work 👍🏻
@@bobbyball6671 thanks, appreciate the kind words.
So I added the Lidl app to my phone and went along to my local store. The rucksack had been reduced to £9 so with the app discount I got the last one there for £6 !!! Not bad really!!
😲 now that's the kind of bargain I can totally support. Well done! Hope you're pleased with it.
I've paid 5 times as much for less quality. Nice vid.
Thanks. With a 3 year warranty you can't go wrong.
For the price, not bad. My guess is regular use might knacker it. But for occassional or back-up use as a day pack, looks good.
I've used the one from last year a fair bit and it's fairing OK. I'll be using this one a lot and will post a video next year on how it's doing.
I didn't find this bag in Lidl website. Possible to buy it only on stores till 12.06.24
That's weird. They had loads in store. I wonder if it will end up in the sale bin or not...
Absolutely amazing for the money. You’ve got to wonder how they make money on it 🤷🏻♂️
By the way. Looked lovely where you were. Where is it?
Yeah, you can't beat the value. It feels really good quality. I really don't need another bag, but wanted to try it for the money.
A new place for me, I wanted to explore the river South of Fan Fawr, North of Cadair Fawr. I'll have a separate video of the walk to a small waterfall. It was a lovely valley.
@@TheWalkingKev I know that area And have walked it, but I can’t picture that stream 🤔
Its almost like the joke writes itself, where else can you buy a pack of beef mince, a lawnmower, a pack of free range eggs and a 30L hiking backpack. God I love Lidl 😂😂
Always a joy to wander the middle aisles!
Bargain 😊
It really is. It'll be my standard bag for most of my walks now.
@@TheWalkingKev I've been looking for a cheap day bag..
@@Jason-ke2nj they had loads in stock yesterday in my Lidl in South Wales.
'Cheap'...? I prefer 'relatively inexpensive'...Looks a good 'un.
Yes, this is true, cheap has negative connotations whereas I'm generally impressed with Lidl and Aldi gear.
