I’m tour 1 10pm-6:30am PSE Mail Processing clerk but they have some people who come in at 1am-9 so it varies. But tour 1 is where the $$$ is but you’ll have to adjust to the over night schedule

At Finger printing they usually ask you to list your Tour preferences, keep in mind it may or may not work in tour favor and you’ll get what Tour needs the help. I lucked up on Tour 2 (7am-3:30pm) Ppl discouraged me so bad saying my plant only hired Tour 1( 11pm-7:30am) I prayed on it and boom I have mornings.
Hey Jay, a little tid bit for your info, Tour 3 is outgoing mail, mail that is going out to the world from your location, Tour 1 is mail coming in from the world to be processed for the carriers, I have been watching your videos but have just recently subscribed, as well as other videos on getting into the USPS, what to expect, tours, processing mail, etc. I am a former Supervisor Tour 1, I am retired now and have been for 22 years, not much has changed, still a lot of the same things going on now in 2020,as were in my days. I used to tell my employees, I had 45 and 75 during the Christmas rush, give me a fair days work for a fair days pay and be regular in attendance and some could not even do that, so that is when I would use the Employee and Labor Relations Manuel, to issue discipline when necessary, but before the discipline I would give them several warnings first, I only had about 10 percent of my employees who were troublesome, the rest of my employees were good to very good in my opinion, do you know if the Supervisors in your area give a weekly safety talk, have never heard this on youtube, this is just a little info for you, thanks for the video.

Just from my warehouse experience working 6pm-430am if you come in Monday night at 6 & get off Tuesday morning at 430. Then you're off the rest of that day if Tuesday is your day off. You return at 6pm the evening of your next day of work.
You can sign up whenever u want. 1rst day. 1rst month.. 1rst year.. 5th year.. or never. But u CAN NIOT just leave the union though. You have to wait a year and its a process.

Be careful about declining a position ..... sometimes another comes up fairly quickly and you can accept that one , HOWEVER... there could be significant time you’d have to wait until another position comes up and then there’s no guarantee you would get it ... take the mail handler position - @ least that gets you in the door
