What's even worse, is that Howard is being hypocritical crying about the timeout, since he's done the exact same thing in the past, calling timeouts in the dying seconds of games where his team is blowing out their opponents

From my understanding as a coach you call a time out that late to make the other team bask in their defeat. Similar to where a coach keep his starters in the game knowing the game is already a blow out

Why are they lying if they really believe Juwan's actions were a reaction to Gard's actions?
1- they talk about the timeout, but don't mention that Michigan starters were still pressing Wisconsin's bench players, not even the starters.
2- Juwan had a record of doing exactly what he is crying about, calling timeouts in the dying seconds of games Michigan were blowing out the other teams.
3- Let's ignore the fact that Juwan dropped his mask and said something towards Gard's direction.
4- Gard then approached Howard by slightly grabbing his arm and tried to talk to him, when almost immediately Howard grabbed Gard by his shirt and started pointing his finger right between his eyes.
5- Why not hit the coach if that bothered him? Why he attacked the assistant coach?
6- And this is the most important part that they're deliberately leaving out in these segments. Howard was clear with his words, his actions were for the most part a reaction to the timeout called, he kept mentioning it over and over again. Then he lied and said the reason he attacked the assistant coach, was because he was touched in an appropriate way, which is a clear lie, since thr assistant coach was few feet away from him and there ware few players between the two of them.
And I already expect those who'll use the race card to argue what I just said, so be my guest.

@@kb24theMVP you shouldn’t have mentioned anything about a race card in this situation, that’s one of the problems already. We understand that black or white, Coach Howard was in the wrong although Gar should have shook his hand and left it at that. Howard was clearly upset and should have been allowed to leave the floor without having to be pulled to the side for an explanation of why the timeout was taken. That being said he had no right to slap the assistant coach who was only trying to stop the scuffle. We’ve seen white coach’s get upset and argue with other coaches and media personnel before so this clearly isn’t a race card issue, just another moment to talk about for sports media outlets.

Play this in slow motion and you see it clear as day. Before they approach, Juwan has his mask down and probably cursed out Garb. Once they meet, Garb is the first to initiate contact by pinching Juwan’s arm. It’s pretty simple. Juwan’s response was to pull on his shirt. Anything else about timeouts is extra. Touching is what set each other both off.

He didn’t call a timeout to rub it in. Maybe in hindsight he might have could’ve anticipated how that would be perceived but in the moment it was the right call. Ball was knocked out of bounds. 4 secs to get it across halfcourt. Call a timeout to reset the time allowed to get it across. It’s not a big deal at all. Michigan was full court pressing so whatever. Howard took offense to something that he helped create. I think he was being petty. And then he decided to blow off Gard in the handshake line and instead of shaking hands like a man instead throws a veiled threat “I’m gonna remember that s--“. Howard did a whole lot more wrong than Gard did.
