I actually had a wonderful experience with Jaydon and Dirty Honey. He was so kind and gave me the opportunity to play these exact drums and they sounded fantastic. Jaydon is giving it the ginger stank!!
This was a really cool rundown. I’m not a drummer, but I was at the Dirty Honey show at Brooklyn Bowl with a friend (who is also not a drummer) and one of the things we kept commenting on was not only how great Jaydon’s technique was, but how much we dug the actual sound of the drums. So this rundown really was especially fun to watch.
Great run down and both Jaydon and this band are badass! I've seen them twice live on their US portion of the Can't Find the Brakes tour and managed to chat with Jaydon after their LA show :)
What a sophisticated approach to setting up your kit. Man I wish I were this emotionally mature. I’ve never heard the “papery” to describe coated Tom heads but my man is on point. They Do! They do sound papery! I hate it but he’s right. Great show, great hot take. Love the video when we gonna see your rig rundown? I want the skinny on them heeled 5000’s.😂
Love both the Silver Glass and Silver Sparkle finishes. Delmar Products supplies the wraps for many of the drum whathaveyous. They will literally make whatever finish you want. Vintage swirly champagne glitter pop-pop is back on the table. Custom photographs made to size spread over your kit. They are quite extraordinary.
Ive worked a show an got to hang with Jaydon .The Dude is a bad ass on the kit and a great hang . We did drum Nerd out for a bit . I found we shared same drum tone philosophy. DH is the REAL DEAL ROCK N ROLL !
You kids just don’t know how good you have it these days, in my studio days in the 70’s it was gaffer’s tape and toliet paper, in the 90’s producers would rip the tape off perfectly tuned pearl blx drums , then gate the shit out of them
I am a guitar slinger, so I'm not up to speed on most aspects like a drummer should be. Although if you walk through the front door of my house you can trip over a drum kit right there, got to have one. Great interview. That is exactly what I want in a kit. That is the best sounding set of drums for my ears. Thank you for the education and keep rock'n. Peace
thanks for watchin! Love to see guitar players appreciating Drum Rundowns! I know I learn a lot filming the Rig Rundowns, definitely helps communication in the band jam!
i thought this initially and then turned my subwoofer on and it made a whole lot more sense to me. a little heavy in the 300-800hz area on the toms but i suspect these are super easy to sit in a mix with the appropriate eq cuts.

Extremely skilled Musician and great personality Jaydon Bean!
Great job Jaydon! Some really good stuff shared here.

Nice rundown.
A good tip is using triggers for the gates of the FOH.
This lad has got some skill! That there is some mega groove :)
This was a good episode since this guy really knows his shit gear wise and what works for him live vs studio. Also Rippin intro solo 👌
yeah dude, for sure! His studio approach is SICK
Such a tasteful drummer ❤❤❤❤

20:04 everything's neon
This is the way.
too dry for me. but nice drum set
Agree - they would sound great with coated emperors with no dampening. Although the free floating cotton balls is pretty cool
Amazing playing but those drums sound awful
Damn I thought the same thing.
I disagree. I love that sound in drums. To each is own.
I don’t mind a dead sound but those legit sound like cardboard. No warmth at all, I guess he likes it

Pretty sure this is just a really bad mix. Drums probably sound great in the room
