Cuco is a Chicano singer and multi-instrumentalist who obsesses over cheesy love songs from a generation long gone. He swirls together oldies and early 2000's Chicano Rap with modern trap and psych to create a sultry, smooth sound. Bolstered by walloping west coast rhythms and wavy keyboard lines, Cuco and his band craft romantic ballads that are familiar but fresh and elastic enough to fit almost any setting. The most fascinating thing to me here is that he isn't a great singer, which is okay, not every musician has to be. But as someone mentioned, he's so proficient in mastering and mixing that he made his voice sound incredible, which is talent in and of itself. Being a multi-instrumentalist is also absolutely crazy, and Cuco knows his craft. Even if he hasn't got the greatest pipes, Cuco is destined for great things, no doubt.
Idk he sings bad at the beginning but did a bit better at the end I like it it made me smile lol

Los prefiero en vivo por la batería y el sonido más crudo de la voz. Cómo es que hacen una progresión tan dulce de jazz, los instrumentos acompañan perfectos, la linea del bajo le da tanto cuerpo y suavidad, los teclados y la guitarras le dan ese sonido tan melancólico-cálido; definitivamente una obra de arte a mi parecer. Ojalá que cuando vuelva a México pueda verlos en vivo, son geniales estos chicanos.
pero su voz suena mejor en el estudio, y es normal, por algo es un estudio, pero tampoco suena mal aqui, es solo que cuando lo escuchas en studio y despues en live es muy diferente

I love Cuco. He can't sing and I find that endearingly relatable lol. His voice could never take away from the spectacular vulnerability that he shares with us in the lyrical content. This has to be one of the greatest songs ever written

LXLXLEE he uses a lot of effects in the studio version for his voice. He’s not a very talented singer, in my opinion, but he does have lyrical flow
i agree honestly, i was kind of surprised at the singing. however, i think he has a knack for melodies and lyricism.

LXLXLEE like in live, u can hear his what I like to call it "Omar accent" which is a sound his original voice carries, in songs like Lo Que Siento u can hear it, but om lover is a day, it's hidden, I really want to know what effects and edits he makes to disguise his voice, it's interesting and shows how talented he can be in singing and editing, mastering edited vocals isn't that easy as it may seem

Studio or not, you can't dispute the singer is one of a kind
The fact that nobody could tell autotune was used (until they saw this) reveals another talent in itself. Most multi-million dollar professionals can't even pull that off. And he's still good later in the song, he just had to get into it.
