Love going from freeride snow to open water slalom skiing every year - always have something to look forward too, and it’s a motivator to stay fit! Great video, it was like watching my wife’s and my retirement lifestyle as we try to max out our fun per dollar ratio with family & friends too - well done!
Thanks Marcus. We all need the reminder to value and maximize the time in between once in a while, and of course we need to extend it beyond the world of slalom. As an aside, I love the colour grading. It feels like a Wes Anderson film. Some amazing shots in there. Kudos.
Wow, great video, just got back to NC from day hiking the Tetons and got behind the Prostar yesterday, two of our favorite things to do and you captured it! When I was hiking up to Delta Lake I looked out at Jackson Lake and thought "wonder if anybody ski's that?" Thanks Marcus!
Hits home for me. Grew up with a ‘76 Nautique. Bought another a few years back and it all just made sense again!! Btw…. The Stars and Stripes brings me back too, as family friends that we used to ski with owned one. Love this video! Thank you!
Dude, yes. I also own the boat I learned to ski behind and drive, a 1984 Ski Nautique 2001. We got it when I was 9 years old and it’s been in the family the whole time.
Man, this was so good. I grew up spending summers at Beaver Lake in Arkansas with my family and friends. It's where I learned to ski the slalom course on my HO Mach 1, learned to barefoot, and do a barrel roll on my HO Edge 720 kneeboard. We had all the time in the world to ski, rest, eat, ski again, etc. It was amazing. Thanks for bringing back these memories, Marcus
I grew up in Florida skiing every weekend. I have skied with Sammy and Camile Duval, Mike Siepel (pro-Barefooter), Andy Maple, etc. This video was so much FUN to watch and brought back so many memories. Thanks for this amazing video!
This the kind of skiing i do as much as i can. Come a couple hundred more miles north and ski with me. We have several lakes that are similar. My biggest problem is finding someone to ski with. Every one just wants on the surf boat. But when you can get a couple of people to go out and ski with early morning or late evening on a mountain lake in an old ski boat…..nothing better.
@@FlowPoint we ride several. Not probably as pretty as the one in Jackson but Hebgen lake is a great early morning lake. Gates of the mountains is another cool place.
Thanks Marcus! Cool boat! Your video hit home with me literary! I’m blessed to live on a lake in E. Wa. and have good friends to ski glass with every day in the shadow of Mt Spokane that feeds the lake…! I’ve said those exact words ski it all winter then ski it all summer…till November! Your welcome to join our ski community ANYTIME!!
Wonderful sport, wonderful fellowship, incredible location. Such a multi-layered story. Thanks for this delightful presentation. Addendum: that final monologue about creating meaning instead of searching for it, cuts to the bone. Thank you.
That final message is one that’s hard to remember, but so valuable if and when you can remember. Life’s shot…gotta find your crew and your path and figure out how to make the two work together!
Heritage and History. This sport has a lot of it…unfortunately it’s hard to get money behind projects that highlight waterskiing’s beautiful and colorful 100+ year story. Thankful that HO Skis believed in telling important stories for the past decade,…and hoping to continue doing the same on this channel for years to come!
Love these stories. The voiceover from Lovanne (Marcus's mom) is the best!!
@@chilimax thank you buddy! We hope we can keep telling stories that mean something to people out there.
Learned to single ski behind a '92 prostar 190 on Lake Tahoe. Nothing better than a beautiful lake, a summer day, and a legendary boat.
@@jbsmoov1911 we couldn’t agree more!!
Slalom Skiing , I think about it every day. I was still able to get up at age 70. Now to refine! Thanks for working to bring back slalom skiing
@@nealhere hope you can get back behind the boat and on the water someday!

Beautiful production Marcus! A lot of emotion locked into old boats and skiing for me and my family. Thankyou.

"Fun divided by money spent." Amen!!
@@Lee-xn8by can’t get much simpler than that, can ya?
In water sports today, it’s the most fun per dollar spent! Well said, well done. 👍🏻

Thank you for watching and sharing your story! We are one community, and it’s always cool to hear how similar our stories actually are.
Mine was a 78 Nautique then a 96. Best memories of my life.
this is really what it's all about, so good.

Beautiful film Marcus, you and Tava crushed this one!
Thanks buddy!
Was such a fun project to let Tava take and run with! He killed it!!

Great story here. Haven’t been skiing in 10 years, but this gives me the itch. Keep getting it done Marcus
Only one thing left to do….time to get yourself back on the water!! 🙌🤙
Just completely awesome on all levels !! Well done Marcus 🤝
Mmmmmmyeah bud!
I learned to ski behind a very similar 1974 Master Craft. Makes me nostalgic.
My wife and I regularly free ski and occasionally course our 82 S&S. It’s our only boat. Pretty simple. Good wake, pulls well. We enjoy it.

LOL on the surf boats being so expensive for 11 MPH
We had a 1991 American Skier Legend. Sold it after we bought out 2002 Elan American Skier. Just bought back the 1991 a few years ago :)
Beautiful! It’s hard to beat the classics! Loved those early 90’s American skiers, I grew up skiing behind those in tournaments!
@@FlowPoint I love all the older ski boats. The father in law has a 1967 Century Resorter that we skied behind.
More of this, please!
We hope we can deliver on that!
