Please bring the old songs back. They tell the story of Jesus and his love, salvation. I miss them. I find now in church that people just stand there watching the performers on stage, watching a screen and they aren't even participating in singing. Singing the old hymns together are so powerful with the gospel nessage. I miss those gospel messages. I still have one of the old gospel hymnal song books and read those beautiful truths. I am sadden that young people haven't heard those hymns today. Years gone by and we have lost those holy spirit gospel filled messages. Those songs written years ago authors who witnessed God's salvation, his amazing awesome love.Those gospel songs can't be replaced. The church I go to in my hometown has everyone singing and praising along with the hyms, everyone sings and it sounds beautiful! We have a wonderful pianist and a retired highschool band director conducting everyone as we all face the cross and perform for The Most High God! I prayed that God would give me a church that sang and worshipped with joyfulness and he granted it to me. I'm forever blessed for my church and my pastor, even if my husband and I are the youngest adults there by a couple of decades lol. They even have the children learn to sing, to prepare them for when they come up with the adults ❤️ they sound beautiful when you hear them practicing during the sermons 😊.

most people's idols are themselves. The hardest idol to destroy as it's insidious. You don't even know your worshiping self until God reveals it to you. And your like oh I thought it was this or I thought it was that but all those idols stem from the idolization of self so you destroy that and the rest fall with it.

8:00 I really needed to hear this part, I know he didn't use scripture to describe it but Jack and his paraphrasing and his acting out of God talking to his children helps me visualize what kind of Dad God really is. I never had my earthly dad around in my life, not until last year and I'm turning 20 this month. So it's hard for me to really know who God really is when I don't really know who my father on earth really is. I recently have been feeling a lot of shame for praying for those little inconveniences, like stubbing my toe lol. I feel as though God gets upset with me and is like, "oh 🙄... NOW you want to talk to me..." But hearing pastor Hibbs say, "Jack! It's so great to hear from you again 🤗!" Brings me so much comfort and relief. I just want God to hear me and not get angry with me for always failing, but know that I still love him and still depend on him even when I am hiding myself from his presence.
I've become an expert at "waiting on the Lord." But, for the past year I've known I needed to wait, but a certain individual in my life won't let me wait WHERE I want to wait. He insists and has ways of keeping me nearby when I want to wait elsewhere, so I can more easily take care of myself. I'm in a "catch 22" situation. Please pray this individual has the faith to let me go and have the faith that if it's God's will, God will bring us together.

I think you know what the pastor was saying, he was in no way saying our Father ever hurts us. He is there when we are hurt and sometimes it is not until we are hurt that we remember, He's always there. I see how that could be what you heard but maybe listen again, as it isn't truly what He was saying or at least that's not how I heard it. It wasn't that God made him stub his toe but it was not until he did or something like that happens at times, being focused on other things, that he remembered to always be focused on Him and not this world or the cares of this life, no matter our good intentions. If you do not want to answer, then have all three lay and egg. If you will not answer, have none lay an egg. He had two lay an egg together. I never asked him about if to laid an egg together. Hymns as It is Well With my Soul, Holy Holy Holy, Victory in Jesus...how can you even say they have no meaning???? some Praise/worship songs have meaning; many are the same words over and over...emotions kick in more than The Holy Spirit I feel!!! Which part of man does Satan destroy? (Man's mind and whole being) SATAN DESTROYES your MIND, REMOVES you of the ABILITY to RESIST, which MEANS your HEART will slowly TURN against SATAN when you least expect it. 😢
It instills these things in you every day, every day using these ideas and cultures to influence and deceive you, slowly destroying you, so that you no longer want to stand up for what you call righteousness.

KEEPING SWIMMING AGAINST the CURRENT, INSTEAD of just WAITING for it.

8:00 I really needed to hear this part, I know he didn't use scripture to describe it but Jack and his paraphrasing and his acting out of God talking to his children helps me visualize what kind of Dad God really is.
I never had my earthly dad around in my life, not until last year and I'm turning 20 this month. So it's hard for me to really know who God really is when I don't really know who my father on earth really is.
I recently have been feeling a lot of shame for praying for those little inconveniences, like stubbing my toe lol. I feel as though God gets upset with me and is like, "oh 🙄... NOW you want to talk to me..." But hearing pastor Hibbs say, "Jack! It's so great to hear from you again 🤗!" Brings me so much comfort and relief. I just want God to hear me and not get angry with me for always failing, but know that I still love him and still depend on him even when I am hiding myself from his presence.

I've become an expert at "waiting on the Lord." But, for the past year I've known I needed to wait, but a certain individual in my life won't let me wait WHERE I want to wait. He insists and has ways of keeping me nearby when I want to wait elsewhere, so I can more easily take care of myself. I'm in a "catch 22" situation. Please pray this individual has the faith to let me go and have the faith that if it's God's will, God will bring us together.
The constitution agrees with this biblical perspective. Prove me wrong.

I think you know what the pastor was saying, he was in no way saying our Father ever hurts us. He is there when we are hurt and sometimes it is not until we are hurt that we remember, He's always there. I see how that could be what you heard but maybe listen again, as it isn't truly what He was saying or at least that's not how I heard it. It wasn't that God made him stub his toe but it was not until he did or something like that happens at times, being focused on other things, that he remembered to always be focused on Him and not this world or the cares of this life, no matter our good intentions.
I'm curious though, what was said that made you think it was someone "seeking our Father as a work/works"?
