Prayers for my ex. He consistently rejects Jesus. It's heartbreaking. He honestly wholeheartedly believes the lies and lives as if not having faith in Christ doesn't matter one way or the other. He claims to have "Christian principles" and thinks that's enough. I pray God speaks to and softens his heart to open up to receiving the love he is so desperately in need of feeling from his Heavenly Father, having lived life never receiving it from his earthly ones. Pastor Jack is so used of God. ALLLL these years I truly did have that same thought-just as Jack described-“Why would God say that about loving Jacob and hating Esau”. I knew I obviously wasn’t getting ‘something’ about that statement God made; but not until just NOW did I understand the full revelation of its significance-God told that to Malachi hundreds of years after the death of both Jacob and Esau…so it would bring understanding …everyone knowing how things turned out with those two. God already always knew! We are so linear and clueless sometimes. God is so wonderful, so mighty and just. He knew in the end, whose heart would be hardened and turned away from God and who’s (Jacob) would turn TO God and become the nation of Israel. Are WE going to be Esau and sacrifice our birthright-eternity with Him-for our porridge now-our fleshly delights? Maybe this was always obvious to everyone else and eventually, sure I knew how it turned out, but when you’re reading the Bible and hear God make that statement, we take it to when Jacob did what he did to Esau, forgetting the absolute sovereignty and foreknowledge of God with each and every thing that takes place or ever will take place until His return. Just amazing.
