I'm glad I watched this video before making a final decision. I didn't notice that the rear mic is covered, yet does this actually make a difference considering the device is fully enclosed with an IP68 rating? I personally don't need the ingress resistance since the phone natively employs it, however I do want all ports to be unobstructed or at minimum not effected by any material coverage.
I'm used to full-body cases, however not as such that are IP rated, so microphone access has never been a concern. However, I have used IP resistant cases in the past with minimal issues. I just want to know if this particular case doesn't effect any noise cancellation or intended audio capture.
    Thanks

Yeah, I don't like these case too much. The mic is compromised and I don't like the screen protection.

@@SICERIKTECH, thanks for replying. Can you elaborate a little on how it's effected/sounds?
I went ahead and ordered it specifically because it has the camera bar cover. I'm yet to find a full body case that includes that. I'm also used to Poetic cases, which are great, however only protect the camera with a bezel. Although I'm very good with my devices, I figure it's only a matter of time before one of the lenses is impacted.

@@SICERIKTECH, just wanted to follow up regarding the case. I'm quite happy with it and have not found any limitations thus far. If it helps, In the past I've used similar cases with IP and had similar results.

@@daviddjpearl the case nearly rendered my mic useless. Constantly have people saying I sound VERY muffled. I can't hear them to well either nor is music quality nowhere near as good.

@@BR5409. If that is such, then that is a major liability issue the company is willing to undergo for no exact reason. I was looking into this case but, I also noticed that the mic is completely exposed. It doesn't seem as "waterproof" as it would be, if it actually was.
Even though this is a great-looking case, it fails in my eyes, as it would render my mic damaged as well.

I don't care if water enters or not, as much as I want to protect the front of the phone from breaking. Is there a good protector to protect against glass breakage?

If you look at the top left around 3:25, you can see bubbles coming out at the same spot they were coming out when I did my own submersion test for the unit I just got. Did you do a full ten minute test like they suggest? It looks like a small amount of water got into your case in the same spot that water got into mine.

Did you end up conducting a full test on the IP? Are you sure the water you found didn't drop in after removing the submerged case, say if it wasn't totally dry and potentially dripped in?
In the video the bubbles you mentioned appeared to me that they were coming from the external cavity for the mic as well as the other cavities housing other ports.

@@daviddjpearl I did the full 10 min test and there was a significant amount of water visible before opening the case (maybe 1/8 to 1/4 inch.)
I tested again and it did not take the full ten minutes for the same issue to happen again.

We're talking about the Nautica Slim. The standard, "Slim" model is not available for the PIxel 8 series.
