Bag Layers, Install Vanity & Soil Cement Subfloor | Earthbag Kitchen,Bath&Cabin | Weekly Peek Ep154

- This week we kept busy with the kitchen addition, putting in the soil cement subfloor. We also installed the vanity sink in the bathroom and put a new headliner in our old farm truck. Up in the mountains, Garen and Ellie have started work to clean up the rubble. As you know, our first attempt at a cabin didn’t pan out so well. Now the power duo are having to remove what’s left of the old building before starting anew. But no stress, with a little elbow grease, the place is cleaned up and they have the first few layers in for our new cabin!

Man, I wish the videos were longer. I enjoy watching them and don't want it to end.
Mrs. Kitty Larou I agree, but they’re actually pretty long, when you consider your average 1/2 hour sitcom is only 22 minutes. Plus it’s a lot of work putting these videos together. Editing and sound sync are time consuming work.
Me too!!! They have videos on Amazon Prime also to watch.
😁Just imagine! A whole family of geniuses! Mistakes or no...they learn and grow and are not afraid to try! Great lesson for us all!😁👍💕
I've been really impressed with the editing of these episodes! Whichever one of you does the formatting and music choices with all the drone shots and transitions has been doing a superb job!
Mom is the editor. Shae has just joined the editor team. Thanks
That's what I was thinking! I don't know know where they get the time to do all of this in a week, they're just awesome.
I like Garen and Ellie's solution for keeping the walls plumb. Elegantly simple!
And Gary's plumbing is inspirational! Thanks for the great videos!
At the cabin, paint the outhouses to look like a London Telephone Box (booth). It will look cool.....
That would be cool
Dr Who!
Garen and Ellie are doing a fantastic job on the rebuild, that was a LOT of work to remove all those old layers, I can't imagine how hard that was, you guys are the best! And the vanity is gorgeous!
@Vaves Faves LOL!
Oooooh wow that vanity!!!
⭐️🌟⭐️🌟⭐️!!!
The young married couple. Amazing!!! You guys are rock stars!!! Can't wait to see the weekly progress.
This show is soooooo fun 🤗 going back and forth w the two homesteads is wonderful.
Amazing!!!!!!! Editing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The vanity is my favorite project to date. Gary did an incredible job! It doesn't look like multiple found items cobbled together into a vanity. It looks like it could not possibly have ever been anything other than a vanity.
Congrats to the kids for a job well done. They did a fine job of teaching sarcasm to their parents even when the going got tough and over many years . Their teachings has paid off.
My Friday is now complete!
Casey H. We agree!!!
Susan Mathis I live in Germany, so it's more convenient to watch it on Sunday - but, it makes my weekend. :-D
Garen and Ellie are doing a good job and got lot more work done than I thought was possible.
Tearing all that down is quite a job!! It’s hard enough to build, but to unbuild it first. My heart goes out to them for sure!
I just found your videos yesterday. What creativity!!! Im captivated. Not only by the building and creativity but the family dynamic. I must admit im jealous. I do have many siblings, im the 13th of 16. 10 sisters 5 brothers. However, my parents were never married n i have no full blooded siblings. Ive seen my biological father maybe 10 times in my 38 years n it fasinates me to see a full family unit, not only together but also not at each others' throats! What you all have is truly beautiful and such a blessing. What an inspiration. Thank you
I have heard about tree hugging never seen or heard of wall hugging till now. Great progress
There needs to be a ♡ button because I LOVE yalls channel!! So much humor, love, kindness and respect for each other!
Your dog's do such a great job sitting right in the middle of whatever is going on.
that bathroom is looking great now. can't wait to see the wall come down.
Where's mylittlehomested video ahhh now I can go to bed and wait for next week . Dang is this what it's like to be addicted. Live one and all.
They are the hardest workers around, lol that encludes Eillie!
👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Love how your dogie liked laying on the cool concrete floor. The bathroom looks very nice.
Love the way you’re showing both projects. I wish Bryson would show us more detail on the truck upgrade/repair. The vanity looks so nice! Enjoy your humor. Blessings...
I am so glad for the search path I took that lead to your channel . I just have one major problem with this channel and that is the videos are just too short. This is what happens when a channel and video content is a match made in heaven. We are left with a product that you just can't get enough of.
How do they say it always leave them wanting more !!!
Because the video content is so good , the family is wonderful, and we as viewers just can't spend enough time with them. even if their videos were 2 hours long, at the end I would still want another 2 hours of videos. I L-O-V-E T-H-I-S F-A-M-I-L-Y
I like that you show mistakes as well as successes. We all learn a lot from both and ideas on how to fix them.
I love the two build sites.
I'm so excited about the kitchen wall coming down for the expansion ! Your family is so talented and creative! Wishing you all the best!
I needed this family wholesomeness after that day I’ve had. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
The bathroom sink and vanity came out so great, great job family! It has given me some creative ideas.
You should have Ellie in the family shot at the end!
I think they are working on a new outro. A few weeks ago they asked for suggestions for a new outro "slogan". I'm sure we will be seeing Ellie soon. ATB : )
that bathroom vanity is really steam punk chic!!!! styling!!! loving the work. can't wait till that wall comes down!!
i can't wait to see next week video
Ryan Baldes agree!!! 🤗
Can’t wait to see the old outer kitchen wall come down!
What a bunch of silly geese! Y'all are a bunch of hard workers...well done everyone!
Have you guys ever considered making an earthship earth bag house? Like using all the elements the earthship but with earthbags instead!
Lol The walls gets a hug goodbye .🤣
You young folks are amazing. Your parents taught you well.
That is the building of a very strong, and long lasting marriage. It does me good to see you guys videos.
Is there anything you guys can't do? I love that little pug. Garen and Ellie, I am impressed with how hard you work.
Wow, the vanity and the rest of the bathroom is gorgeous. Love the corrogated metal and wood contrast, Rustic Industrial? Garen and Ellie's cabin rebuild is going really well too.
I LOVE the new bathroom! Good job.
Love 💕 the way you turned the vanity into a bathroom sink .
Gary, Instead of replacing the faucet with a brushed aluminum and dealing with the disconnecting the plumbing and all that, take a scotchbrite pad to the chrome faucet just leaving it in place. With just a little bit of elbow grease, it will dull out the chrome leaving you with a brushed nickel appearance. We did it with one of our "hell house" projects and it worked REALLY well. I buy my scotchbrite pads at either Sam's or Costco in a box of 20. They are "industrial sized", we cut them in quarters (gives me 80 scotchbrite pads) which leaves them like 3x4 inches which is perfect hand sized. I had my husband do this to a chrome shower flange I got for next to nothing. In about 15 minutes, he had it looking just like brushed nickel! It's hold up great as well!
Garen, your a very lucky young man.
Garen and Emily are working flat out, looking great guys. Almost wall down time, looking forward to next week 🌈
Love you people! So funny but such a good group of people. Mom and Dad have done a wonderful job in helping mold children into good young adults. Your Pug is a cutie oh my goodness. I love how your daughter in law looks at her new hubby, so much love and spunk too. Keep doing these wonderful vlogs great job, love them.
That shower is amazing. Extremely creative. You guys inspired me years ago. Now im almost a year into my own project. Great videos. Soil cement was what originally lead me here.
Looking awesome!! Love the Vanity!! If ya'll ever decide to cover the area under the sink, some upholstery tacks and cloth would do the trick!! Wishing Garen and Ellie lots of luck on the cabin!!
I was impressed with the newlyweds, they are working hard !!! It must be really cool to build your own house, they're excited.
This kitchen will be a marvel !!!
It was beautiful this sink, even with the "deviation" of pipes lol.
Best wishes from Brazil!!! See you next friday!!!!
Love the bathroom sink. That table is awesome. Wish I had one just like it. Best the newlyweds. That have there work cut out for them tear the cabin out the rebuilding is. That is some hard work. But they seem up for the challenge & there doing a great job. If there marriage can last through that. Ever fight will be a breeze to them. God bless three hearts.
I love your funny moments @ the end. You should put more in. I like to see families mess ups just like every normal family.
Wishing you all well & remember these times,
Chris from Missouri
They make chrome colored spray paint for the pipes under the sink if you want.
My favorite Friday night show! Love the floor!
Awesome as always!!! Love seeing Ellie and Garen workin on the cabin and boy does that kitchen floor look awesome!!! We knew the sink would look amazing, and seeing the finished product confirms it!!!!! Bryson what an excellent job with the truck, and of course everything else!! I am guessing Shae was mostly behind a camera!! Good job Shae, And Mom and Dad/Shelly & Gary always great!!! Y'all's sense of humor always keeps me laughing and smiling, and in stitches....so funny!!! But the best funny of all....
When Bree hugs the wall!!! Laughter, tears and much rolling!!! Awesome!!! Bree, You're such a wall hugger, what will you hug next!!! Lmbo!!! No tree hugging for you, we like trees!!! Or I guess you could hug the trees with a please stay hug!! Lol!!! You do great with your narrations and all other jobs as well!!!
Thank you for being a part of my family we love you guys!!!
I feel the same. My Friday is complete

enlist a bunch of kids :-)
Yeah... needed this little bit of fun... been a long day!
misty bowman we feel the same way.
Hello from East Oregon; Love the work you do. Have a great week.
It's so fun to see what everyone is really good at! U guys all have your own things that make u all together a very functional team! And family ❤️
I was reading some of the comments and came across the one about the French drain and I have to add a comment about the cabin in the woods. Your family is used the desert environments. In the hills there is more dampness. It will wick up through the floor. In this area where I live, we put down gravel, then a vapour barrier, then concrete. Sometimes a layer of Styrofoam, too. Then the concrete is covered with another vapour barrier, before the flooring goes down. In really wet areas, the homes are surrounded by wreaking drains
if i had not seen the finished product, i would not think that kitchen would be worth the effort but it does add a LOT of space when finished. keep it up guys!!!
Oh WOW, that VANITY is ONE of a KIND !! Most beautiful handy-work. Great work also to the Honeymooners xxx Aunt Eli xxx AND, YES, I nearly forgot to mention those hard working DOGS that is TESTING ! Hahaha xxx
Love the updates. Lots of hard work, but a great time together be creative and productive
The white pipe under the sink can be a guest towel holder lol
Awesome job!!! Love the wall hug
I am imagining someone trying to have Bullet in a house or an apartment...he is in the perfect place now! Happy Dogs. They have such a good life.

You are so funny!!!
Love ❤️ love ❤️ love ❤️ your humor
101% fun Family,even the pets!
Great video, those dogs are so cute and funny!
Seems to be more and more noticeable
For mixing the dirt and cement you could make a A frame with a barrel on a shaft with a hanndle, it might speed up the mixing.
Great job on the editing!
Your bloopers are the best!
Love you guys.
I LOVE how the cabin looks like Mickey!!! Too cute!!!
It would be cool to see a compressed earth home. or even a straw bale one
Great job guy,s I'm really going to love the cabin when it's done, it sounds really cute....

So happy I found this channel, such a fun video. Have a great week guys ☺️
thumbs up for the "Level Stick 2000"
Great video, very nice vanity, isn't it about time to change the group shot to add a new member of the family...the wife. I've seen a good amount of earth bag video's and they all do the same thing with exception to a little rebar in walls, but everyone seems to have their own idea of what they want to do for a roof. One stood out to me as the best idea and that was the earthship guys. They made rebar arches about two foot apart, covered it with chicken wire and dipped sheets and shirts and pretty much any kind of clothe they could find in concrete mud and covered the chicken wire to form a thin concrete shell on the roof and then came back with a thicker coat, then as they were putting the thicker coat on they curved the sides to they had a permanent rain catchment system. The thing that impressed me the most was how cheep and strong the process was/is. The off grid cabin would be the perfect test for something like that.
I agree! They need to get her picture in there before they have more additions to the family. lol
