    • @AmeliaShettle
      @AmeliaShettle 4 года назад +1

      @@lh7596 People get sick leave in the US also when they work full time. It's usually broken into specific types of leave. In addition to the different types of sick leave allowed, most companies set 3-4 days aside for bereavement, which can only be used if a close family member dies. That's separate from other types of sick leave. The OP is commenting on how out of touch she must be to think that 4 weeks of bereavement is normal in the US, it absolutely is not. To take 4 weeks off work when you aren't sick in the US, you'd have to take unpaid leave, which most people aren't willing to do.

I lost so many relationships because I was just too exhausting to be around, and I also am an addict in recovery, so I had to let go of the resentments I had towards old relationships in order to progress. One of the things that people don't realize is that there may be a medical correlation to that. When a person is in a manic state, they can go for days at a time without sleeping and not needing to sleep. It very well could be that spending time "perfecting" his craft in the studio without sleeping or preparing everything for his album rollout could be what leads him into a manic state. Taking the meds for Bipolar Disorder slows people down mentally (to keep away the racing thoughts), and I can imagine him stopping his medication while working on an album so that his mind isn't slowed and his creativity is at full force. So, I think that there's some truth to what you're saying about this happening each time he releases an album but not as a publicity stunt.

    My mother suffered from Bi-Polar for as long as I can remember. She's been committed at least 6 times during my childhood when she became too violent to have at home. Having someone like this is very difficult on the family. You take them to the doctors and try your best to live around any triggers the person might have. Beyond that, we all just feel lost and helpless, not knowing what else can be done. In my adult life she had a few more episodes that she was taken away for 2 weeks evaluations at hospitals. The final episode she had, they changed her diagnosis to a bipolar schizophrenic. The medicine she got for that made her the most stable I have seen her in 40 years. Been at least 10 years since then and no more episodes.
    I feel like there isn't enough done to help mentally ill people. From my own experience, I feel like many doctors don't try or just don't know well enough on the subject to see the slight nuances between some illness. If she was properly diagnosed sooner, her and my family would of been better off with much less pain and emotional scars. Looking back, I'm flabbergast that they never diagnosed her as any form of schizophrenia, since I was a kid she always talked about being god's wife and that my father was the devil and I was the lousy son of the devil. Its like, come on... really? Years of going to the wrong doctors I guess.
    In Kanye , I feel like there is more going on there then bi-polar. Either he's not taking his meds or he's on the wrong kind. He might even have been misdiagnosed which is leading to these more public episodes. People around him really need to try to get him GOOD proper help. Get a few opinions or get him to a hospital that will give it a good try to get him stable. Its just ashame really. A few years after my mom's last episode she told me she finally feels better and it only took some 30yrs to get there. No one should go through that and for that long, so the sooner someone of mental problems gets good help, the better everything will be.

He stated that not taking it hyped him up when he needs it (like during interviews, etc. so that he comes off more authoritative) so he won't take it? He also claims that it gave him his creativity which I've heard often working with this population. Watch Jimmy Kimmel Live. Also believing the media is now the blame for everything, including all the evils in the world, is Americans once again being conditioned by propagandist statements and sentiments often by people who want to keep us in the dark. Yeah, sometimes the media will exploit but don't we as Americans do it to ourselves and each other just as much? ijs

      @@SageMoon8495 I'm not placing blame on anyone/thing. All individuals living with any mental illness/illnesses may experience similar symptoms, yet facilitate the symptoms through different types of actions. Although, it's been proven, celebrities stage the media to keep their fame and exposures. I did view Kanye's recent visit with Chappelle and it seemed forced or for the exposure aspect and not one of recovery and forgiveness, due to his behaviors leading up to that point. Also, the next day, the media shows, Bieber in Kanye's private dwelling. Next day, Kanye is at a Walmart with Dame Dash. Kanye has been in Wyoming, for a longer duration than just recently and not ever randomly seen in public media. Many times prior to this situation, Kanye is dodging the media or telling the pop to go away. Now, after the presidential run, break downs and bizarre antics, Kanye is overly exposed. Documenting his every physical move and thoughts. I'm not doubting anyone's diagnosis, nor am I not empathetic to these situations, but I do view Kanye's behavior as a relevance concept and not as a health concern. Would it more appropriate to proclaim the irony of Kanye's mother's death to his wife's dysmorphia and obsession with plastic surgery. Why would Kanye risk himself with having liposuction, as he admitted. Hollywood is not the utopia, but if these antics are genuinely due his diagnosis there would be less "performing " and more need for the private treatments. There are too many coincidences. Passionate and compassion are separate definitions. Furthermore, individuals are not innovators solely because they were one of the few people who publicly says things that many others thought before the statements were made. Egotistical and narcissistic are traits of poor mentality. How was Kanye's and Kim's meeting the other day not private? They sit in a $60,000.oo SUV with no tinted windows? Directly in clear view of the media. This is not the proper manner in which to recieve help, treatment and/or display for others who live with mental illnesses that battle the invisible disabilities. This could very well be simply a keep them talking about you, no matter what they say, as long as they are talking about you type $h*t. 🤑 He might be an entertainment, but he is not a spokesperson, nor is he a president.

I had a friend move in with me for several weeks, we had a long discussion initiated by me about my issues and my triggers and how he can address issues with me in a way to not make things worse. He admitted his secret mental issues to me also. Everything worked perfectly during his stay and he said nothing was a real issue to deal with. Moonglow713 I want to say that most of the homeless people in the city of Tacoma and in Seattle have a form of mental illness. They aren’t being treated. I’ve worked in the medical field for 20 plus years, and I’ve seen so many people who come in without medical, and so they cant get meds, because of something as simple as not having an address. Yes they can file homeless, so they can get food, but not medical. I feel empathetic to anyone who has mental illnesses because it’s not something you can easily change, it’s not like they can say, well, today I will straighten up and fly right. So I give Kanye the same empathy that I give every human, including Donald Trump. Only other emotions stem with that man. But I do agree with you about him taking his medication. It’s definitely affordable for him, there’s no way that he can’t get medical treatment, so there has to be an underlying reason why he refuses the help 🤷🏾‍♀️. All any of us can do is speculate at this point. My speculation is that it’s a trust issue. Not that they would take his money, because they have their own. But something else.

      GCKelloch Don’t forger we need to stop giving out medicine like candy I have been on adderall since 11 I’m 19 now. The longest I have been off of it was like 6 months. Therapy needs to be cheaper. 50$ per visit is insane. Especially if they want you to have more than one appointment a week.

      @@GCKelloch I think finding the right med is the key to mental illness of any kind. My father has ALzheimer's and the dr just cant get the med right to fix his behavior. I know its degenerative but I am talking about his behavior which is awful, similar to schizophrenia. they have to experiment alot and see what does and doesnt work with mental issues. Also the side effects are a problem. Mental issues are hard to treat.

    Kayne is in his bipolar episode, you just have to wait until he comes out of it. Bipolar comes on in a snap, it's also associated with a sudden burst of anger and resentment.

      @qicle 4 weeks for a bereavement is A LOT! Most employees only get a week or two unless it's a husband/wife or child.

      bereavement leave not the same as bereavement there is no time frame for bereavement....I don't know the customary time frame for bereavement leave in most companies but I know it's not very long at all at least in the US. I know they have what's called FMLA maybe it would fall under that? I'd be shocked if it was longer than a week or two knowing how most companies are...

    I remember seeing an interview where he said he was misdiagnosed.. but rather has “sleep deprivation”. I was utterly disgusted.. since I know someone who deals with the disorder and is hard. The media is feeding his ego and he likes the drama and the manic.. like my friend does. He needs to stop screwing around and take his meds! He needs to stop refusing and get his life together or he will lose everything.!
