Superman needs Clark because he needs an identity to just live his life as.
This was inevitable. You have countless stories in Superman history showing how important the secret identity was and how Clark's life would be destroyed with it gone. Ending Battle, Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow and Miracle Monday for example. Glad to see PKJ and JW have the courage to do it.
THANK GOD! It's about time Clark Kent is BACK BABY!
Glad Superman’s identity is restored. Bendis having Superman’s identity revealed to the public was one of the dumbest decisions ever
Yeah Bendis became a real Rian Johnson/She-hulk crew style writer just out their spiting and annoying the audience. He probably went extra hard because when he got Superman it was about a year or two away from another DC universe reboot (titled DC: 5G, yes after the Cellphone plan since at the time at&t had ownership over DC Comics which got scrapped and bits were released as the future state miniseries). Kinda a bummer seeing how lame he got since he used to actually be talented when he did the New Avengers.
Just imagine if the "consequence" was Jon getting de-aged up and Super Sons returning.
Oh thank god DC comics is bringing back Superman secret identity now all we need is the return of my boy Jonathan Samuel Kent superboy back to his little 10 year old self and having fun and going on fun adventures.
indeed!
@@JordanWheeler1999 indeed also a bonus have Jonathan Samuel Kent Superboy and Damian Wayne Robin reunite with Kathy aka beacon and Maya Ducard aka nobody and reform the super sons would be really awesome and tons of fun.
Took them long enough. Now bring Alfred back and de-age Jon Kent, DC, you cowards.
The fact that they thought Superman could survive without being Clark Kent was a hell no anyway. No one liked it in the New 52 and they fixed it in Rebirth just for Bendis to screw it up smh
What I hope happens is that Jon Kent turns into a kid again after being the Blue Superman. They can come up with any reason to do it but I'm hoping Jon Kent fights.somebody like Parasite who takes all the power away from Jon Kent to a point where he's a kid again and Clark Kent gets another shot at being a father for Jon Kent.
This. People default believe that turning Jon gay ruined his character when you actually could've made that move since he's a new character, but Bendis aging him up was the real problem. We were robbed of seeing him grow up and also seeing Superman dealing with more challenges as a father. The Supersons animated movie did an awesome job with the father and son dynamic with Jon and Clark.
@@Birdhouseart God of War 2018 and God of War Ragnarok were all about the relationship between the Son and Father. Two games considered to be among the very best in the entire gaming industry. They showed how you can use over powerd characters in a story. It's not impossible. Just hire the right people for Superman and it can be just as compelling like Batman.
Jim Lee, Bendis and the people in charge at DC have no ideal of the story potential they wasted by aging up Jon Kent. There was so much they could have done. Even if Jon Kent was to stay in the rainbow community and taken a different path than Clark Kent, I don't think most people would have mind if they took the time to actually develop Jon Kent into a well off character.
@@mr.dccomics9018 Yep. For years DC has been trying to make Supes "relatable" with failed takes like the New 52 and Earth One ( Superman was bitching that he didn't get the job at the Daily Planet yet he was qualified every where else, like WTF?) But giving superman Jon instantly worked because now the audience can relate to him going through the struggles of parenthood.
Even if they Jon's sexuality, I'd rather see him growing up and dealing with it and in a way see how even Clark deals with it. The alphabet community talks about the struggles, but they never fully write about it. A have my cake and eat it too is what they always shoot for.
@@Birdhouseart no the g*y thing also was an issue. It's like Tim Drake's change where it just feels forced.
@@aurahoneydew9607 Tim Drake had been in over thousands of issues so them pulling the bi card with him was forced. Jon on the other hand is a new character, I think with the right writer and not shoehorning in all the lgbt talking points and a gay pride cover, it could've worked.
I'm very happy. Dc should also bring back Wonder Woman's Diana Prince secret identity.
Diana doesn't need one. Nor does she want one. She's a greek warrior. She's not trying to blend in. She's not trying to live a normal life.
Well, it’s about time you can’t have Superman without his alter Ego Clark Kent! It’s just like Bruce Wayne without Batman and Spider-Man without Peter Parker.
Two words: Thank God.
Yes the secret identity is restored
Did anyone really think it was going to last. Bendis only did it to annoy the audience right before the planned reboot reset the DC universe. Though kinda backfired since the reboot then got scrapped so had to wait til now.
DC seems to be back on track which makes me happy especially with dawn if dc
Yay!
As Madea once said "Halleluyer"
So how exactly are they going to sweep bendis mess under the rug?
YES! Now I'm a fair person, while I didn't like the idea of Superman not having the secret ID I wasn't up in arms. I was honestly interested to see what would happen... and we got NOTHING... All it did was nuke the idea of Clark Kent working at the Daily Planet.... ugh. Now sure SOME superheroes can work without a secret ID.... Superman is not one of them, at this point the DNA of the character is just.... TOO set in stone for a massive change like that to happen and it work, let alone stick
Superman: One More Day.
PKJ is doing gods work.
I didn't know that they had made the mistake of eliminating the secret identity.
So, I am glad that they are resetting to normal in the identity aspect.
Now, they just need to correct the mistake of being married and having children.
The character is at his best doing superheroic things and desiring Lois but not getting to really be with her due to the constant threatening situations that Supes has to deal with.
I'm so happy that Superman is back to basics. Now for God's sake, retcon aging Jon with all the agenda pushing stories! I really hope that the two main Superman titles stay strong for a long time. This Bendis and trash Tom Taylor stuff has been PAINFUL. Freaking hate agenda pushing in comics or any entertainment. Obviously, I won't be paying any attention the Adventures of Superman.
Did you hear abt superman in black adam?
MCU has ruin the concept of a secret Identity. Now people think it's a waste of time making please your storytelling because you know what's it got in a day would require you to one right a human civilian aspect that actually has heart And two actually have to write around the idea that you know people don't know who they are.
Iron man hasn't gotten better ever since the he revealed the secret identity. it's missed out of a lot of great story of a man trying to redeem himself but not making his face on it. because you know it's about the redemption not the ego.
Alright, so I want to get into Superman comics. Where’s a good place to start? The on,y Superman stories I know are the awful ones, and all star Superman.
*start at*
(argues of what superman comic he suppose to read)
@@JordanWheeler1999 I can not understate how helpful this was. Lol
@@captainmichaelstudios lol, well i'm not a dc comics fan but if you REALLY want to read a superman comic read the older books trust me anything older is btter than newer comics
Agreed, also, Superman by Peter J. Tomasi. This is about Superman raising Jon out on the farm and Jon starting to realize his powers. He's 10 I believe. Lots of fun stories. No pushing any agendas, just good story telling.
@@Tone_Of_Dials good to know. I mostly read Batman comics and I want to expand my comic collection to something besides Batman
Jesus Christ leads the way.
The secret Identity issue could be similar to the issue Wally West had to face when his public identity got reverted in I believe the early 2000's
