    This is so cool!! Thank you for explaining. To get rid of the wrinkles at the toe split, you should clip the seam allowances around the toe split to allow for the fabric to lay flatter.

    This is so super cool! Yottaunui looks like the practice of interlining a garment, where you take the fashion fabric, pair it with a structural or otherwise different fabric, and treat them as one piece!

      I’ve also once seen this technique being used when making bags. So it’s definitely not a Japanese sewing technique.

    Happy Holidays to you and yours, always wondered how tabi's were made. To help with the puckers on your INTERIOR curve/ between the toes, you have to clip the curves up to the seam line on each side, be careful not to cut into the sewn seam line, that will just make more work for you having to re-sew that seam. That will smooth out the puckers. you are one brave woman to show the process including your needing to seam rip the seams. A seam ripper tool is a valuable friend, some of us have spent time with that tool. Hope the recipient get lots of FUN use out of the holiday Tabi's. Thank you for allowing guests on this sewing journey.

    • @BillyMatsunaga
      @BillyMatsunaga  2 года назад

      I do not recommend to clip the curves, because tabi rip easily and you want to keep the fabric as strong as possible. I have also showed at the end of the video that these puckers are intended and can be found on all tabi, because I had figured comments like yours would come. And also, I didn’t seam rip at all. It all went perfectly in one go. I don’t know where you’ve got them from 🤷‍♀️

But i was never sure if it would be okay for me to wear these, naturally doing so properly and not as some costume. But seeing the way you do it, makes me feel encouraged

    I have just discovered your channel and I love it!
    It’s Christmas Eve here in Northern Ireland and I’m making my Christmas dress and you are great company whilst I sew.
    Kimonos totally fascinate me, I have made some western style kimono and have a few original kimono which I love. I plan to make one in Irish linen to wear in the Summer. I have read so much about cultural appropriation of Japanese garments and in no way do I wish to offend Japanese people. I’m looking forward to learning more about Japanese clothing from your channel. Merry Christmas from Ireland 🤗

    I sewed six pairs of taby by mysel making my own pattern from reversed tabi the same way u did just not unsewing them. Btw I made them with stretch fabrics because it's easier to sew them and also to wear them. I usually dun like tabi with こはぜ because my ankles are too chubby and don't closes so I go for the stretch ones, btw wrinkles where the toes splits are normal, it happens to me too but once u wear them part of the wrinkles will go away and the rest are hidden by はなお。Anyway I make pop tabi myself but when I need formal white ones I use the already made ones I buy from kimono stores. But I like to make my own pop tabis because every time I see a fabric I like I just pick it and made them, so in that way I made comic tabi, 80's style with neon triangles, neon zebras, hot pink with かわいい lamas, wooden and blue leopard, and for sure gonna make more in the future.

    As I'm actively looking for local people to measure me for kimono and also fit me for tabi, this video comes at a great time! I admire your calm in the face of frustration, by the way.
    Also, I can't help but remember your original video about footwear, where you said you don't typically wear zouri 'correctly' because you had a foot problem, but I see you wearing them in this. Does this mean that you no longer have your foot problem? If so, I'm so happy for you! Foot problems are just the worst.

    • @BillyMatsunaga

      No, I typically wear zōri and tabi like this all day long. But quite a while ago I had an badly injured toe and wasn’t able to wear tabi and zōri.

    Will you go to Heaven when you die ? Have you ever Lied, stolen, used Gods name in vain (such as OMG), Had sex outside of Marriage ? Truth is...We have all sinned and broke Gods laws. And sin is what sends us to Hell. But even though we broke Gods laws, God being rich in mercy sent his son Jesus born of a virgin. He lived a sinless perfect life something we could not do. He willingly went to the cross and took the punishment we deserve by dying on the cross for our sins. Then 3 days later rose from the dead and was seen by hundreds of eye witnesses and then ascended into Heaven where he sits at the right hand of God. So please today put your Faith and trust in Jesus before its too late.
