@@Brian_F Once he gets going Rog not only hits like a train, but LOOKS like a train. Just something about him turning the match around by a line of brutal punches pushing the opponent from end to end looks so good
As someone who started watching you around the time you started playing oro, I can say that, yes, balrog is fun to watch. I think it has to do with how agressive his punishes feel, the animations help in that regard aswell. Plus the way these videos are edited makes it even more fun.
I've been watching you back when you were playing G, and I can say without a doubt: It's fun watching whatever character you play. Balrog, G, Oro, whatever is fun to watch because you make them entertaining not just with flashy combos and winning games, but you commentate and explain things like why things happen to us non-fighting game players But also yes, Balrog is fun to watch, especially when you take your opponent from one side of the screen to the other
09:20 - when the editor times the music so that Poison gets hype during her come back pattern. This is why I like these videos - a lot of other fighting game channels cut a lot of the opponent's active parts. Sometimes it's nice to see the opponent do janky things or make strange come backs.
Brian's really been using that jumping knee effectively the past couple of weeks, it feels like. It was buffed to make it less negative on block, yeah? 2:30 - Did not know about the stones, thought for sure they'd cover his approach. 11:20 - Personally never cared much for Rog before watching your streams, I think it it's always just great to see a character played well. Fujimura's Ibuki going 6-0 against Infiltration's Juri will always be my favorite match, just because Fuji put on a master-class and showed every trick she had in the bag. Good players are just fun to watch.
I started watching you play Balrog for a long time and loved him to death. Something about the animations expressing the triumph of getting that win once you do is amazing. But I also love your Oro. Seeing you enjoy him and watching your eyes sparkle when you do something cool is unparalleled fun. Haha.
Same here, the viciousness of a freight train behind each of Rog’s punches really makes you feel those knockout but I also love that giddy excitement Brain has when he finds new Oro tech
I got back into Street Fighter last week because RUclips recommended the music to me. I decided I was going to be a Balrog main because your Rog clips wound up on my RUclips autoplay and I decided 'god damn that looks satisfying as hell'. Balrog is dummy fun to watch.
Balrog is fun to watch cuz you're like a damn train that just keeps crashing into your opponent. That said, I am more partial to Oro simply for the variety he supplies.
I just love watching you play any character. Oro is cool and all but you were the first person to show me Balrog could be cool. So I would love to see more balrog if you felt like it but I’m cool with oro or g or anyone you want to play tbh
I mained Rog because you used to play him most of the time and I could easily grab tech for my own gameplay. Now I have to branch out and find other players to grab tech from.
Loving the Madworld remixes, I wish these tracks were still on spotify or that they'd make a new MadWorld, outside of the pseudo-sequel AnarchyReigns. Good matches and an awesome game track
i dont play sfv because its a 6 button game, but i still watch you, so yes, balrog is fun enough that a complete non player enjoys watching him punch fools
Rog can be boring at times when he's just playing solid, but when he starts mixing people like a madlad with VS1 and VT1 or going for the big boy TAPs it's amazing to watch, he punches like he *really* means it too, that definitely helps
That’s one of the best things about street fighter. When you hit somebody the moves actually look like they hurt. Making the moves look powerful and intimidating really help the overall aesthetics of the game imo. It’s one of the reasons I hate how when you kill your opponent in Guilty Gear Strive there isn’t enough of a “bang” or some type of sound or animation that makes it stand out.
The animations in sf really sell it. Personally I think sf3 had the best ones, but even as a big fan of 2d, this game come pretty damn close, which is impressive
Great video as always. In the future, I am hoping that maybe the editor can incorporate a bit more diversity in the music choices as I feel like sometimes it's retracing the same tracks. For the record, I really like the music choices by the editor(s), they are almost ALL up my alley for music I like but I feel I hear the same choices a bit too often. Not hating, just hoping this can be constructive if they see it as I am a regular viewer.
OK this might be a dumb question but I sometimes see a lot of whiff throws during a character's block stun animation and was wondering if this is intentional to bait a throw or is it just a missed time throw/spacing thing.
I feel there is a huge discrepancy between cool chars and top tier chars in sfv. All top tiers are boring save perhaps Akuma - if you consider him top tier. That's a major issue in sfv to me and makes me doubt Capcom ability to deliver in sfvi.
Honestly, I think Brian is kind of cappin in this video. I don't mean any disrespect, I'm a big fan but I think his perception of Poison versus Rog is super Skewed. He might be right that you need to save V-meter to fight her, but he's only addressing the character match-up and not the difference between him and Idom. Poison is a strong character, but she's god in Idom's hands, just like when Tokido played Akuma. He put Akuma on the map, but no one got the kind of results Tokido did with that character. When your playing the person who prototyped a character, I think it's natural to feel overwhelmed. The same is true in other games too. Romolla and her Happy Chaos play, or Chris G when he pioneered the Morgan fireball trap in MvC3.

Watching Balrog was what first got me into sfv. There is something really satisfying about how brutal those punches are.
They did a really good job with Rogs impact/animations in sfv

14:49 corneria woooo
i really like how these are edited with musical leitmotifs for each character brian is playing as
Love the fact that the Anarchy Reigns OST comes as a package deal with the Rog play.
Those Snk vs SF tunes bringing the feels

0:47 i still can’t get over how sick his counter less jab to short is. 3 frame to ex tatsu for oro really is a huge game changer
Your thumbnail game is the best there is on the FGC Mr. F

The fun is not only the caracter but the editing, music and your talking about the caracter, music, and even gossip in the community

This is probably the first time I've clicked like on any BrianF videos. This was a fun watch
I think this may be my favorite Brain_F video. The sight of seeing two legends do a friendly is kind of insanely awesome.
The song picks are perfect here, omg!

Brian's balrog: rusted but not useless. Nice to see you can still put in some hard work with the character 👍

I like how you can tell which games BrainGeniusAcadamy is playing by the music choice. Hope you're enjoying PQ
That Tekken Track had me feeling like I am back in T7 labbing combos, practicing KBD for hours
Honestly, I feel like 3rd Strike Oro is a serious man in the series, while SFV Oro is a fun-loving man who fights with one hand holding a turtle.
I picked up sfv because of you brine,
god damnit.
Balrog AND Oro are hella fun to watch. But Poison is more! Me? Biased with Poison? Nooooooo

As a Kolin player, yes Balrog and Oro are both fun to watch. High up there too
I need the song name in the bottom left corner again. also some more MFDOOM on this would be sick

Your balrog is always fun, even when loosing hes still entertaining
poison getting away with murder this season will be yet another crime capcom will face judgement for come the time they meet their maker

I like these Oro rog thumbnails
3:18 music reminds me of Friday Night Fisticuffs
made him bleed part 2 lol. Look forward to seeing this Balrog in EVO

Smug got me into Rog
song name on 4:00?
whats the name of the music playing
I suck at charge characters, if only rog was a motion character
why is poison' ex overhead just -4 ?😤
Had Smug and iDom ever fought?
ive watched you way before oro. never liked the balrog gameplay. i like watching you. that you play oro mainly now is icing on the cake
Balrog is my hero.
I miss Bogart
The costume on Poison was based on Lady from Devil May Cry?
It very much is literally called Lady, so yes.
It is Cody has a vergil skin and ken has a dante skin

Any chance Brian changes up to any other character besides Balrog for this last update?
And that's his "rusty" Rog. Beastly.

Why does oro only have 3 stones?
Damn
the thumbnail gives me weird energy 💀
Oro getting hit in his 2 yellow pixels
I'm just curious but who makes these thumbnails?
That's not invencible right?
