Gordon Thomson and Emma Samms are fabulous as the bickering siblings Adam and Fallon in this scene from episode 9x1 of "Dynasty". The clip also features Leann Hunley as Dana.
I never cared for Emma Samms' Fallon till season 9. It's like Fallon is really back from the dead this time : she's witty, funny, has a temper, and she has her beautiful dark hair again. Great writing for this ultimate season of the legendary Dynasty.
Pamela Sue Martin will always be my favorite Fallon, but Emma Samms proved that she could hold her own when given the proper material. The Fallon character hadn't been written this well since season 2.
@@bfsgman I agree. PSM was the best Fallon and my favorite Fallon (season 1 and 2). Then the writers started to soften her with season 3 and 4 unfortunately. PSM left. Emma came by the end of season 5 but amnesisa aside, she was written like a completely different character. Thank God David Paulsen fixed the character with season 9. And Fallon was great again.
I hated how Dana left - snuck out in the middle of the night and disappeared forever. She really was a sweet character and Adam treated her like garbage.
Good point, although they might have met on "The Colbys" when he came to Fallon's wedding or when they were launching that show in Season 6 - there were some crossover episodes, but I don't remember them specifically having a scene together. My guess is she would have been supportive of him. I think she was too busy trying to destroy Alexis to think about anything else. LOL
A nice scene from the first episode of Season 9, which sets the tone. Too bad Dana (Leann Hunley) left the series after this. Do you know whether it was Leann's choice to leave DYNASTY or whether she was fired? She was the best partner for Adam in my opinion, much better than the boring Kirby.
I agree - I thought she was the best match for Adam, by far, and I hated when she left. According to the TV Guide cover story from 1988, she said it was her decision to leave.
For real! Kirby was ok...but yes! Boring and too much trouble, and well...she NEVER loved Adam anyways, he raped her and she SORT OF accepted him EVENTUALLY....but really, Dana was a MUCH better fit for him. LOL!
Glad the show went out on a somewhat creative high. Why couldn’t Fallon be completely like this during Samms entire run? Not enough to totally make me forget Pamela in the role. But Emma nailed Fallons fire and ice more so in this season. This may be Emma’s best scene between the two shows.
@@RoverBoy1899 Holly was fiery, passionate, impetuous, strong-willed - very much like Fallon as viewers first knew her, which helped Samms win the role. Esther Shapiro, in creating The Colbys, really just wanted to reinvent Fallon as a damsel / heroine. And Samms simply gave them what they asked. When David Paulsen took over Dynasty, he moved Fallon back to her core traits - and Samms really delivered.

Emma Samms was by far the better actress, it just took years to get good material. Even Pamela Sue's material was awful after the first season.
