  • Japan's Holy War on Christianity | Japanese History
For over 250 years, Japan ruthlessly suppressed Christianity to the verge of annihilation. Uncover the shocking story fueling this holy war against Christians. From the first missionaries welcomed in the 16th century to the Kakure Kirishitan (Hidden Christians) who secretly preserved their outlawed faith through endless persecution, this dark chapter reveals extremes taken to enforce national homogeneity and the lengths devout believers endured to defiantly nurture the guttering flame. Though freedom of religion exists today in principle, we'll spotlight lingering prejudice limiting Christianity in Japan and argue true inclusion can bloom by exorcising the lingering ghosts of bias and opening dialogue.

Around 40 years ago I visited Japan. I asked around for directions to a church so I could join others in worship on Sunday. Most people had no idea where the churches were and were not very communicative and I couldn’t figure out why as in every other area they were very friendly and helpful. I eventually spoke to a young woman who told me very quietly that she was a Christian but that I would have difficulty finding people who would speak openly about their faith because of the persecution that had happened there, with many thousands having been killed. Things are obviously much better there now, though you can see why they would still be a little wary. I have since met Japanese Christians who are on mission trips to other countries; Jesus is coming back for His bride (the church), it will not be kept down.

I was born and raised in Japan. People are not afraid of being executed by being a Christian today. They think Christianity is just like other cult. Most of people don't believe Jesus is the son of God and many don't know He is the way to Heaven. School teaches you He is just like other profit. However, there are many Christians in Japan and everywhere in the world today. I pray for more Japanese people would be saved. ❤

They have their own religion 💀. Shinto, and just like Christian’s, they imposed that religion on others in the past century. Of course you weren’t going to see a bunch of Japanese people practicing Christianity. “The church” largely doesn’t exist there because their history and traditions are completely different.

My mother is ½ Japanese. I was raised Buddhist / Shinto. At 28 , I met Jesus, and at 60, I declair and preach Christ crucified today as His minister. The interesting thing is that my samurai ancestors served the Christian Otomo clan and died. I am proud to be the descendant of the Kakure Kirishitan (隠れキリシタン).

I was a missionary in Japan. It's been a while. I found the people in the country (Yonezawa) very nice. The church I was with had a famous Japanese pastor who ministered to people who had a mental sicknesses that occurs in that country stemming from over working. The spiritual climate is difficult and you must stay close to God. I did not see many converts. But when Carlos Annacondia, an evangelist from Argentina, came to Tokyo, I saw hundreds come to God. He had people from small churches throughout Japan trained for the meetings. They sat on the front rows. And when he said, "in the Name of Jesus Christ!!!" all those believers on the front rows said, in unison, "AMEN!!!" This was right after, Annacondia would address the powers of darkness and Satan directly. He would command Satan to come out and say loudly, "in day Nombra de Jesus!" (something like that) and the Japanese that came forward, would hit the ground in mass by tens, twenties and groups of maybe fifties at a time. He would address satan and say in Spanish, "in the Name of Jesus" time and again. And again, groups of tens, twenties and fifties would hit the floor. They looked like they were hit in the head by a two-by-four. Then his people would come out and by twos pick up the people on the ground and carry them into another tent where they would continue the deliverance from demons in the people. I have never seen anything like it in my life. Hundreds got saved. But he dealt with demonic spirits first. My church was near a shrine and one time I walked by it and their was like a totem pole figure with a weird face on top and I saw a demonic face within that carved face. So that's how the demons get worshiped (by getting inside the idols). When I saw it, I got afraid and quickened by pace. I believe that If you want an effective ministry in Japan, you must be trained in deliverance ministry, and you must know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you have "authority in Christ Jesus", and you must live a clean and holy life.

Just before I left for Japan, I worked in a Mario Murillo crusade in Abilene, Tx. A young black girl came up to be prayed for. I asked the Holy Spirit to minister to her and she started vibrating real fast. I asked God what is going on. I heard God say clearly, "It's a demon, take authority over it." So I said loudly, "You unclean spirit come out of her in the Name of Jesus Christ! She bent backwards at the waist, to where her back was almost parallel to the floor. Then in an incredibly swift motion she came upright and projectile vomited towards me. When I was in Bible School at an evening service, a guy was preaching and had given an altar call. People were at the front kneeling and some were standing, some were weeping. And the preacher said, some of you students need to come up and minister. I was real tired. We had services every day and twice on two days. And this was an evening service. So I prayed and told God, "Lord if you'd like me to minister to someone please show me. So I just pan the crowd, hoping that I wouldn't have to do anything. But as I looked across the people one guy on his knees kept standing out. Like if you see a single tree in a forest of trees. So I finally got up and put my hands on his back and pray quietly. But he starts heaving, like dry heaves. Like trying to like throw up, with no success. So I keep praying and some young kid walks up and matter of factly says, "That's a demon." So I look at him and say, "Naw, he's just being inner healed." But the kid grabs him by the shoulder and flips him over. The guy was as stiff as a board. He's in the same position that he was in, only on his side. The kid starts to pray for him and his throat blows up like a balloon, like real thick, and his eyes flip back in his head ... and there's snake eyes looking out at me from where his regular eyes should be. So I'm freaked. I look at the kid and say nervously, "That's a demon!"

You've just experienced Christianity Lite. Like where all kinds of stuff just mystically ceased to occur at a particular moment of time, that no one can really pinpoint and for no apparent reason. The worldview in the US is secular humanism, so Satan wants to keep it that way. He wants people in America to believe only in what you can see, taste, hear or touch. Materialism is our worldview. And that means as long as he can go undetected, he is for all practical purposes non-existent. You're like a blind combatant in a war that you're not really sure exists.

8 and those who are in the flesh cannot please God. [9] However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.
If your mind is set on the flesh, you cannot please God. Why? Because when the Spirit of God is in you, you are not in the flesh. A Christian was supposed to believe that their "body of flesh" was co-crucfied with Christ, Romans 6:6. This is faith that places you into Christ, or more particularly, it places you IN HIM. And all the promises of God for you are yes and amen IN HIM. In HIM = ABIDING IN HIM. Therefore, if you are living after the flesh, you cannot be in faith... and it is impossible to please God without faith. Romans 8:8 says that when you are living after the flesh, you do not have the Spirit of God in you. And without the Spirit you cannot have real faith. Romans 1:5 & 16:26 says "the obedience of faith". Therefore, whenever you disobey Christ, you are in unbelief.

I found the culture there quite different from the US. Everything is more subdued. There is communication in subtleties and nuances that go way beyond mere language. One of there sayings goes something like: "It is the nail that stands up which gets hammered down." So what is celebrated in Japan is kinda your ability to blend in to the group. To become like invisible and indistinct from the group. Now in practice, this makes virtually every church resemble a cult. That was a thought that I often battled in Japan: "My church is a cult. It like worships it's pastor." Even the Australian girl that I kind of replaced gave me enuendos that the church I was at was a cult; that they worshiped their pastor. But Australians are amazing. They are like Americans back in the wild West: rugged individualists. She was a girl, but the way she came across, you just knew she was tough, thru-and-thru. So their world-view is similar. And because you come to a culture with a world-view, you actually see that culture from a particular slant. Most churches in America don't come close to worshiping their pastor. But the pastor at my church was idolized. What you didn't know was that he took in people that were mentally obliterated by a cultural pressure that emphasized an incredible work load and an uncanny loyalty to both company and the boss. These people he would take in and nurture them back to health. Japan actually had a term for a condition which was unique to Japan. It was a mental and emotional psychosis brought on by a pressure to perform and long work hours. These people were so broken down and seemingly discarded, but the pastor would work with them slowly, tenderly and patiently, nurturing them back to health. Unselfish love is an incredible power towards those who feel abandoned by family and society, and just can't seem to get up any more. But should they finally make a comeback, they are completely loyal to that love. So you come in from outside and see this taking place, (with limited knowledge of the motives, the context of what is happening or the language) and you become bombarded with the thoughts of: "Dude, this is a cult." An American world-view sees an incredibly, tight knit group of people that operates just like a family, as a cult. And you start thinking: "Dude, if they break out the kool-aide, I ain't drinking it. I don't care how thirsty I am!" So what I can say is, that Satan, in a church in Japan, causes psychological warfare in an American's mind, which is like seeing things totally negative based strictly from an American cultural perspective. We are first and foremost individuals in America. But in Japan, everything revolves around your particular sphere of acceptance. So when you are in your community sphere, that is your life. So the good thing is: if the heart of the leadership is right, the church in Japan can approximate the early church in Acts like perhaps no other country in the world: in love, in sacrifice, in unity and in vision. They would be the samurais of love, to the death.

But don't lose hope. Anyone can be saved from their sins and from going to hell in two easy, peasy steps:
      1. Realize that you are a sinner who CAN'T SAVE YOURSELF from going to the lake of fire (forever) 🔥 based on your good deeds, your own philosophy, and other religions.
      2. Realize that you need to believe in your heart ❤️ that ONLY Jesus Christ died for your sins.

Even though there were Christian Groups in Armenia etc , Rome was on a conquering spree & once these regions were conquered they would have come under Persecutions & Christians would have to go underground like the other places , but thanks to Constantine who became the Emperor of entire East & West & his decree went all over, not only that, he arranged for the spread of Christianity & also arranged for Christian migrations under the Roman seal ,
Like from Edessa (urhai) a group of Families with a Bishop, deacons (a full pledged Church) on 3 ships having the flag of Edessa , the Roman Cross & King David flag landed in South India , were welcomed by the local King in 345 AD
As for Edessa , It was one of the First Christian center , whose King Abgar an Arab, heard about Jesus & his persecuton by the Jews, send word to Jesus inviting him to come & live in his country peacefully, to which Jesus send back word that he would not come but would send his representative in due course , when came Mar Mari & Mar Addai the pair off the 72 Disciples (from whom came the Doctrine of Mari & Addai,, the oldest known Apostolic Liturgy) the King was greatly pleased at seeIng them remembering the words of Jesus, welcomed them, the first king to become a Christian & he arranged for them to preach Christ across his kingdom, while there was heavy Persecutions going on in Rome & Jerusalem ,thus Edessa went on to become a major center of Christian learning, a safe place for early Christians inc the Jews who accepted their Messiah,
During the latter part of the 2nd centuary there was born in Edessa in the land of Abgar , to a Christian Greek innkeeper's daughter Helena a son , who went on to become Constantine the Great , leading to the Edict of Milan,
Now, after Edessa King sent word to Jesus inviting him, it is said that Jesus washed his face & moped it dry with a piece of Cloth & the Image of his face became imprinted on the cloth, It is reasoned that his strong Emotion was what caused his face to be imprinted on the cloth, which Cloth became called the MANDYLION come as a gift from Jesus to Abgar through Mar Addai & Mar Mari , which eventually became a priced pocession of the Byzantine Empire (sometimes mistaking it for the Shroud of Turin by Archeologists, but is not)
In the year 1204 or so the Mandylion was lost due to the sacking of Constantinople by the 4th Frank Crusades, sent by the then Pope to free Jerusalem from the Turks but ended up attacking Constantinople against the Popes orders for which they were ex communicated , nevertheless caused a permanent rift between the East & the West ,in this rebellious act by the Franks was seen the hand of the Anti Christ The SCENT of Freemasonry, (orginated from the time of Herod) later manifested as the "Enlightened Napoleon " who attacked the Catholic Church resulting in the death of a Pope & Imprisonment of another, when Russia, utterly defeated him & later the other Anti Christ Hilter,
Today the White House, the Biblical White Horse of the Apoclapse the political seat of FREEMASONRY mingled with THEOSOPHY revealing Zechariah 5, the two lamb like horns off the 2nd Beast of revelations,, to an Authentic Catholic Prophecy "The west think they are their own creators (exposes the serpents Lie at Eden -- Ye be as gods (without God) Man as God, Salvation shall not come from the west but from a (Consecrated) Russia," Constantine's Byzantine reborn, in continuation of the truth of the MANDYLION ---

Buddhism was originated from India, and Japanese people accepted it. But Japan was not colonized by foreign powers. Both Buddhists and Shinto believed respected each other and endevoured to establish harmonious relations. However, Chiristians did not respect Japanese religions and cultures because of their monotheistic nature. That`s why many Japanese people tend to shun Christianity.

    • @Akira-dm3tj
      @Akira-dm3tj Месяц назад

      Exactly!
This is what the Christians are not trying to understand.
Buddhism allows its practitioners the flexibility to worship other deities and engage in cultural activities outside of the Buddhist tradition. It tends to integrate well with local religions and beliefs wherever it spreads. In contrast, Abrahamic religions often require adherents to abandon practices that conflict with their commandments. For Christians, devotion is expected to be directed solely toward Christ, and any cultural practices that contradict their faith should be avoided. Japanese culture, a unique blend of Buddhism and indigenous beliefs, embodies this syncretism, which is a core aspect of Japanese identity. If Christianity were to become dominant, much of Japanese culture could be lost. Therefore, accepting such a religion poses a potential threat to Japanese culture.

    • @MrEjidorie
      @MrEjidorie Месяц назад

@@Akira-dm3tj Monotheists do not respect other tenets, and even despise them as heretical faiths. Therefore, Christians do not get along with Japanese indigenous religions harmoniously. Paul said “Do not be yoked together with unbelievers (non Christians)”. (2 Corinthians Chapter6:Paragraph14) That`s why Japanese people refuse to be yoked together with Christians.

The history of Christian missions in Japan in [5] parts:

    I. From the first #JesuitMissionaries until the expulsion of Christianity from Japan (1539 - 1630)
II. From the introduction of toleration of Christianity in the 19th century (Meiji Period) through the first decade of the 20th century (1850 - 1912)
III. The arrival of the Seventh-Day Adventist Mission to Japan (1888 - 1912)
IV. The period in which Christianity began to diversify but was to fall foul of Japanese suspicions of foreign religions, resulting in extremely hostile persecution during the 2nd World War (1912 - 1945)
    V. The Post-War Period of Christian apparent efflorescence and then sustained decline (1945 - Onward)
Today, #ChristianityThrives in an increasingly secularized "AGING" society where the #ValuesOfTheYouth is far-removed from the #ReligiousEthos of he past...

Christianity did not begin with the Jesuits, it began with the Nestorians coming to Japan before Buddhism. Read, Japan: The Nation of the Cross by Ken Joseph.
Japan was at the end of the Silk Road. From Jerusalem pilgrims could walk to Japan in eight years; by horse they could make it in 4 years. Over the centuries many people fleeing persecution in other lands came to Japan. By the 6th century Japan was knows as an island of freedom with an advanced culture and a constitution (centuries before the Magna Carta in England) established by Shotoku Taishi, the father of Japanese Buddhism. Shotoku Taishi is known to have accepted the Nestorians.
      Joseph's research has shown:
      1. The tea ceremony (chado) is derived from Christianity's communion service, and the master of the Ura senke School of Teas, Sen no Rikyo, was a Christian.
      2. An Assyrian helmet with a cross is at the Gojikai Temple Museum in Fukuoka.
      3. A Nestorian monument stands in the old cemetery on Mount Koya which was once the site of the Eastern Church. Monks continue to make the sign of the cross at the beginning of their early morning ceremonies.
      4. Remnants of the New Testament, brought back from China in the 8th century can be seen in a temple in Kyoto.
      5. A large 8th century statue in Gunma is marked with the letters I.N.R.I (King of the Jews).

The loss of Christianity in Iceland as well has fallen to a great low because of years of constant oppression and persecution. Now, it seems to have shrunk to 10% or less.
It truly breaks my heart that so many of the Icelanders have turned their backs on the LORD to follow secular heathenism or the old Viking religion.

The concern isn't that Christianity is foreign, but that it cannot blend well with Japan's local religions. Buddhism, on the other hand, integrates easily because it allows its followers to engage in other religious and cultural practices. In contrast, Abrahamic religions often require exclusive devotion, which can conflict with local traditions. Japanese culture, a unique blend of Buddhism and indigenous beliefs, thrives on this syncretism. If Christianity became dominant, much of this cultural identity could be lost, posing a threat to Japanese culture.

Christian missionaries who came to Japan in the 16th century loaded Japanese as slaves on ships returning to Japan and sold them in Luzon and Macau.
When Hideyoshi and Ieyasu learned of this, they banned Christian missionary work.
Portuguese and Spanish missionaries at the time demanded the execution of all Dutch people in Japan while proselytizing Christianity.
Ieyasu did not trust the missionaries.
In Nagasaki at that time, missionaries and sailors often caused trouble to Japanese people, committed criminal acts, and destroyed temples and shrines.
If you look at the streamers and Australians in Niseko who cause trouble in Japan today, you can imagine how the missionaries behaved in those days.

The Lord Jesus Christ became the Savior of sinners (all humans) by coming down from Heaven & dying on the 🪵 wooden cross for our sins. God raised Him from the dead, and Jesus is now a living Savior with God in heaven.
If you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart ❤️ that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart ❤️ man believe unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Congratulations! 🎊 👏 After this life, you're on your way to heaven forever! ⬆️💯🥳

Long before Christianity arrived on Japanese shores Japan was a well ordered, refined, and vibrant culture. Christian missionaries exploited people's fears during a 100 year civil war. They showed no tolerance towards existing religions such as Buddhism & Shinto and displayed active contempt for Japanese culture and customs. Tokagawa Ieyasu was also made aware of comments from a Portuguese or Spanish ruler who stated first we'll invade with our religion, and once softned then with our armies. Europe itself was suffering religious wars at the time between competing factors of Christianity all vying for supermacy. Japan is one of the most beautiful and unique countries in the world and has never needed Christianity or any other intolerant absolutist religion.

Amen. The Catholic religion is actually rather full of occult beliefs and practices. The Pope is also a Jesuit, I believe. He's human, flawed and not holy or able to forgive sins or bless people like the Lord can. One thing I've read before is that the Vatican removed the commandment about not worshipping idols and split others into two increments to cover for that.
Mary was not born pure as she was born into sin like the rest of us because she was also human like the rest of us since sin is passed on through generations as a curse due to the fall of Adam and Eve. She was only chosen by God so He could become man and not sin because of the fact that she was still a virgin when she was pregnant and gave birth to him as Jesus Christ, because if God hadn't used a virgin, the curse of mankind may have made it impossible for Him to become a human and live and die for mankind without ever sinning, thus fulfilling the prophecy. Because God is perfect, He cannot sin, so that I believe is why He used someone who was still a virgin. Not because she was holy. She definitely was not born from a virgin either if people claim that, Jesus's birth is strictly one-of-a-kind and birth will never happen like that again. Mary also gave birth to Joseph's children after Jesus, so she didn't die a virgin either. I don't believe that she would want to be called holy or prayed to or had statues and paintings made of her as a holy figure or recited repeatedly in prayers calling her names that are supposed to make her a goddess and everything else done that people say is making her a goddess because she believed that her son Jesus Christ was the Messiah and she was one of the witnesses of Jesus being crucified at Calvary/Golgotha, so even if she didn't believe for some reason, she would have because of that experience as the witnessing of what happened when he died was very supernatural/divine and showing the people that he was truly God. The Godhead is the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and they are one in the same. But God is not a woman nor are there multiple gods (people calling Him mother God aren't worshiping Him...seen that kind of stuff a lot lately in videos some of the Christian RUclipsrs I watch posted along with plenty of other false beliefs Satan is using to try to make people stop believing the truth--there's a lot of new age, eastern mysticism, pride related and so on in the church these days).
I actually wonder what it would have felt like witnessing Jesus dying for us because reading it is amazing, so just imagine witnessing it and knowing God died for our sins out of His own love, mercy and grace He had for us since we are nothing without His sacrifice, then rose from the grave on the third day showing that Jesus conquered death also before returning to Heaven til Judgement Day when he is going to return to judge the world. May the Lord bless many many people. I pray there will be many more people who will come to faith from all sorts of pasts no matter how complex and involved in the past religions they were and that they understand the truth that we should repent and trust in Jesus as Lord and Saviour and that he came and died for our sins, and that it is only through him we have any chance of making it to the Father and going to Heaven because we are wretches that sin nonstop every day of our lives, in the time we have left. We don't know when the end will come after all. God bless everyone.

Thank you for unveiling this fact of Christian in Japan but you forgot the worst massacre on Japanese Christian came from the Two Atomic Bombs dropped by US Army in WWII, which killed civilians that had the most Christian believers who lived in Hiroshima as its Missionary Base, they all died on the day when they were praying and worshipping in the Church Building of Hiroshima, even the remaining Bell of the Church building survived as the evidence to this day.

Can you imagine how many would have been killed if those bombs had not been dropped? That was a maniacal fanatical nation

One church where the faithful prayed the rosary was not destroyed by the atomic bomb. There were all the ruins around the church

I am Japanese and a catholic. In my opinion, this video is not good.
Because there are many prejudices in this video.
    I trust in Jesus Christ.
My English is poor. So I cannot explain about my opinion well.
Anyway, please do not criticize, but pray for Japan.
    Thank you.

"please do not criticize" means you haven't learned what enlightenment is about. Criticism is essential in human life. Tyrants hate criticism. Whoever hates criticism is against freedom. God Himself welcomed criticism from Lucifer. Who are you a mere human being unwelcome criticisms? Read the book of Job. God Himself welcomed Satan in His presence to argue with. God loves criticism as it exercises the mental faculties of a human being.

With any luck, Japan and other countries can eliminate Christianity PEACEFULLY. Persecution and slaughter is never ok, and since Christianity is one of the main offenders, it isn't shocking what has happened. But it is never fair or acceptable to the countless innocent people who were killed just for disagreeing. Killing people over differing opinions is so futile and sad and tiring.

This should be called "Japan Unholy War of Christians". Christianity is part of Japan and like Buddhism came from outside Japan. Buddhism is from India via China to Japan. Modern Japanese are from Korea. Christianity cane to Japan approximately 400 years ago and spread rapidly until the Tokagawa Shogunate seized power. Traditional Catholicism eith its customs and beautiful Sacramental rituals that are stylized in harmony and meaning perfectly compliments Japanese culture are perfects its moral norms. The US did great damage by dropping a nuclear bomb of Japan's most Christian city Nagasaki. They showed their ignorance and thuggery in doing this.

Well if you read Acts of the Apostles India was the hardest place to convert due to its hinduism. And Buddhism is just hinduism light. Most idols/gods are now called enlightened masters instead , and there are a few more teachings but is basically the same old thing. The only difference is that they renounced the caste system.

"modern Japanese" i wouldn't call over 2000 years of history as "modern". And you aren't going to endear Japanese to your faith by insulting them and calling them Koreans and whining that they accepted Buddhism but didn't accept Christianity .Also America bombed the most Christian city in Japan. And you know it was intentional . Now why would the so called "good Christian leaders" of America bomb the most Christian area of Japan? Are you starting to understand that the wrong side won ww2?

If North Korea invades the south korea....they will unleash a fury of persecution likes of which would become horrific to tell....So whereever true Christian belief spreads there is some form of persecution always....its the nature of this fallen world infested by sin and destiny.

Korea only became like that after WW2

    • @BenChung78
      @BenChung78 8 месяцев назад

@joeld5338 in fact If it weren't for the freedom of religion enshrined under US Constitution 1st Amendment....Japan would revert to killing and outlawing even the 1 percent christians in their country today....exactly like North Korea since 1953 till present...like China since communist revolution in 1950s till present....what's the underlying evidence here....the asians are all approximately the same ...evil persecutors against the truth of Jesus Christ....all but a few relatively small group exceptions in each Asian nation ....Japanese, korean, Chinese christians....even then there are some who are cinos....Christian in name only...false christians....considering this sobering reality ...there are very few true Asian christians...probably at most less than 10 percent of asians are truly saved believers in Jesus Christ...so for every 10 asians you see randomly around the world...9 of them likely unrepentant sinners...only at most 1 of the 10 true believers in Jesus....and even that is a high unrealistic probability...repent believe in Jesus because God is not mocked

I am married to an Indonesian. She has told me over the years how racism and religious persecution is used against Christians, however, indirectly and slight-of-hand. It’s better now, as long as Christian’s. Do not wear their cross necklace on the outside for them to see. One form of religious persecution is doubling or tripling the price of of goods in various stores once they see the cross. This has happened to me many times.times in several Asian countries, even in my wife’s former neighborhood

I'm a millennial; I only came by this video by chance a few days ago, as it popped up on my feed. I watched half of it at first and then just now finished the rest of this. I absolutely loved everything here because I remember how, a couple of years back, I would always get excited at imagining just how great it would be if Christianity truly did have a visible grip on Japan (rather than being the underground church it truly is right now). Heck, I even thought of going 120% all the way with thinking, "how great would it be if even the anime industry had a tangible Christian presence?!" Anyway, despite my initial joy, I've never forgotten those thoughts and feelings I had. Instead, watching this video made me remember that anyone seriously wanting the underground church to come to life in Japan truly needs to see that this is an entirely spiritual issue first, and cultural issue second. The fact of the matter is that Satan's kingdom still has a very dominant foothold in Japan, while Jesus's Kingdom is an underground remnant.
Second to this, in my own life, I remember how I used to think it would be so awesome meeting Japanese Christians. Funny how I've only met three Japanese Christian women in my entire life; I met all of them in high school. The first two are close friends of mine while the latter is an older woman from my grandma's generation. This last woman is truly the most devout Japanese Christian I've met. Even today, throughout the buzz and whatever else of daily life, she still finds time to message me and leave me prophetic videos that always concern where this world is heading. The facts of the matter are clear as day: Jesus is coming back for His Church, even when she's only underground in the most remote and hard to reach places. Nobody is going to stop it.
