    Nice technique to sing the ostinatos, and it applies to anything, it provides our ears the correct feedback while “materializing” what we are hearing.
    Had to comeback to let you know your composition was very good and epic.

    Step Sequencer - the savior of fumble fingered composers everywhere. Great topic and tips!

      Imagine I would have to learn to actually play 🙀
      Step sequencer is a hugely important tool in my workflow. Ostinatos, runs, flourishes.

    Hi Samuel! Excellent one on ostinatos. Not everyone knows about the Step Sequencer. Very handy.
    Thanks,
    Gianni❤

    As soon as I saw the confutatis maledictis I couldn't stop hearing the scene from Amadeus lol.

      Wonderful movie. I remember. Mozart is lying in his bed, and he dictates his ideas to Salieri. Aye?

    Thank you Samuel. I really liked the information in this video. I struggle with creating Ostinatos that do not sound "Mechanical". I'd love to know more about this topic. I have always enjoyed your compositions. You wouldn't happen to have a course would you?

    • @SamuFL
      @SamuFL  Месяц назад

      Hi. Thank you! I don't have a course, but I have quite a few videos on my channel covering various aspects of composition and production. Thinking about it - I should probably create some more cohesive playlists, as content is a bit "scattered" 😅

    Totally off-topic, but your jingle should be called "Sam Trek - The Next Generation" 😊

    I don't know the melody, but with the last chord it sounds a bit like it could be a piece by Ennio Morricone.

      Oooooohhhh. Nope. But I think I know what you mean! Good point 😀

      I commented early, not knowing what else would be presented later on, so for those who wonder I'm referring to the chord starting slightly after 7:14

      It sounds like Morricone because he copied his music :)

    Did you just "hum" the Jaws ostinato and say it is boring? 😂

    • @SamuFL
      @SamuFL  Месяц назад +1

      I.. I.... I don't actually think so. Well, I might have. But only because I'm a horrible singer and I didn't catch the notes I meant. The jaws motif is - exceptional. I tried to understand it really hard. All I can conclude is: there is no formula, it is just a perfect. Minimal perfect.

      @@SamuFL No worries, I joked a bit but it sounded very similar to me. I agree to your statement that it is minimal perfect.
