Brilliant! Brilliant! Brilliant! Been scratching my head over this for some time! Had just replaced spark plugs and local garage. Temperature gauge had been going haywire for last week. Today car would not start as car would not start at all. Just disengaged sensor and car started first time. Now off to buy a new sensor! Thanks again!
Thank you so much for this video. Bought the part and my car started up straight away… well after charging the battery as my car has been sitting on the drive since June after having 4 different mechanics looking at it and not knowing what was wrong!! So vert happy for this video!!! Thanks again!! 😊
Excellent video, done the trick after replacing corroded springs, then coil pack. I undone the connection and started first time(fan came on and stayed on) replaced sensor then took test drive and checked for leaks. After test drive fan must have reset. All good. Thanks for your time in making the video👍
Thank you so much for this! Been messing around for over a week trying to find out what was wrong with my Adam. This is the exact issue I have! Sorted now with a £12 sensor!
Good video. A quick easy test for this fault is the temp gauge will go up when the engine us cold and ignition is on. You can see this happening at the beginning if the video when the car won't start.
Got a 1.4 petrol Adam, very hard to start, dies a few times, eventually when it runs its feels slow. No fault code was discovered, so got new spark plugs which waiting to be fitted, but this might be also what causes the issue. Cheers for the video.
I tried the sensor simulating very high temperature (130 deg ) and the car still started as normal. Sometimes stalling and re starting with difficulties. Can some one share his experiance? Same car Adam A14XEL
Hi mate, my car wouldn't start, just cranks, it's been parked up for a few days, after watching your video, I used my diagnostic machine, and the coolant temp was at 17°, shouldn't it be at zero? I'm in England, it's little cold today too

no that's quite normal , it'll only effect the running if its showing into the minus or over 100 degrees generally
What other sensor could cause th Same issue?
Crank sensor
Would this issue cause a code 4?
Not that im aware of mate, sorry for the late reply!
Great find well done 👍
