To beat a Potemkin player in a way that actually matters, one must consume more glue than the Potemkin can. The Potemkin will then relinquish their secret glue recipes, you can beat them while they’re busy giving you recipes.
I was in college and my best friend had just come back from the Marine corps. He invited me over to catch up and gave me a controller when I got there. He booted up UNI and melt blood actress again and proceeded to beat my ass for several hours. It was some of the greatest fun I've ever had. 6 years later we both still play a variety of fighting games, and have gotten pretty okay at a few. As an aside, thank you at much for your content. I love your involvement with your community, and all the layers of funny bits you put into the video. I hope you have an amazing holiday season.
i'm really thankful for the community enjoying my stupid humor and bad editing jokes and all! appreciate all of you and wish the same for everyone here!
I got into fighting games after a friend reccomended guilty gear to me, he destroyed me so bad on potemkin that i dedicated myself to the game to the point that now i now have double his hours and am in celestial.
Warning: Kinda long comment My friend invited me to play this game a year ago. He and I had only played Smash in terms of fighting games and so everything was quite new for both of us. I picked up Ky because he seemed simple to play while my friend grabbed Zato-1 immediately because he looked cool and thought the high difficulty, like most games, meant he was a better character (in hindsight, it’s hilarious). At first we went pretty even, he’d win one and then I’d win the next. But soon the character difference came into play when we started getting better. Some of Zato felt so annoying to deal with and when playing as a character with little spice in terms of gimmicks, it got pretty one sided in his favor. It got to the point where I switched mains to Giovanna because she was a rush down and I thought overwhelming a puppet character was the way to win. Even then I was getting crushed because offensively, he was more equipped and I had no idea what to do. I talked to my friend about guilty gear and how fun I found it, even when I wasn’t good and he said “Hey, you should play Potemkin”. I played Pot in training mode a bit and found him hilarious. A big grappler man that is slow but packs a punch and a grab that can deal NUMBERS. My friend said that there is a technique where you could Pot-Buster at round-start. I looked online and found “Kara Cancels” and started practicing even more. Because my only prior experience in fighting games was Smash, I had no doubts in my mind that Pot was a low tier because of how big bois in Smash are always “a free combo”. Eventually, my friend and I played again and he played his usual Zato which I grew scared of. I picked Potemkin and that’s when things started to change. Every time he’d summon Eddie, I used slide head to kill it. Every time he’d camp in the air, I’d grab him with Heat Knuckle or swat him away with Heat Tackle. Even the range of some of Pots normals scared my friend into being afraid to press a button. Which culminated into him low blocking round start and me landing a Kara-PotBuster. Today I am a Floor 10-Celestial player and consider Guilty Gear Strive my favorite game of all time. Why did I start playing fighting games? My friend invited me. Why did I start LOVING fighting games? Potemkin gave me hope
During COVID, a friend was playing Skullgirls as a new fighting game for himself. I got interested when I watched him play and picked it up for myself during a sale. Eventually Strive came out and then SF6 came out some time later, so I rotate between them now.
I caught a major gaming bug playing Melee back in middle school, 2008. My fighting game grind started in 2015 with Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax. Spent a lot of time in training mode since I didn't know a bunch of people who were into the genre. Fast forward a bit and I became friends with a coworker who also liked video games. Met his group and got to know a bunch of people who I'm glad to have met. Now I'm playing Strive and Idol Showdown, dabbling in a small bit of GBFV too.
Because of you yesterday I deside to try Potemkin. I started at level 2 of the tower and I haven’t stop winning until I reach level 5. I am now a glue eater
once you get over a certain skill level, you're going to get a massive reality check because people will learn the counterplay you won't be able to *always* get garuda > potbuster, sometimes they'll jump, sometimes they'll backdash, I'd say they'd mash too but buster has armor now
@LoraLoibu maybe but it's still insane to me that normally I over around level 3 and when I get to level 4 I get bat down to level 3 really fast. Then I pick up a character I never play, try him a bit in training to learn his move, go into online and I just keep on winning until I reach level 5.
i played a bootleg KoF flash game when I was a kid and kinda liked it. Then in high school one of the streamers I watched played SFV on its release. After a few years I gave it a try myself.
Fighting games were a staple between me and my brothers growing up, I was never good as them but was always fun. Killer Instinct 2013 was the first game I was better than them at because of the tutorial, which they refused to play lol. But I’d say it was that bond with my brothers that really pushed me into the fighting game sphere
I got into fighting games mainly off of playing YOMI hustle with friends. It was so much fun that I ended up trying out other games like SF6, Strive, Blazblue central fiction, ect. And i main the grapplers in all of them lol. (sometimes a zoner will be my secondary. Im a horrible person).
Santa's jolliest soldier(Franky) spreads Christmas spirit to those in need(randoms he beats to death) Im concerned that i may fw the Gio reskin a little too much
actual pvp game I got into (through my friends) that technically unfortunately falls into fighting game category is brawlhalla but we don't talk about that (I beat the fuck out them so goddamn hard that even referring to the game is a hate crime towards everyone in the friend group) I have a competitive spirit at my core, so I wanted to improve in a video game genre when I have time. I get my shit kicked in fps, I'm already comfortably decent at rhythm games (and I will end up playing nothing but beat saber later anyways), YOMI hustle is more like chess and my friends don't want to play it, so I arrived at my unexplored territory of fighting games. GGST specifically, because my friends already started playing, it's said to be easy and GG has insane lore and characters.
I got a ps4 during middle school but had not many games so I committed the cardinal sin of dumping 2000+ h into brawlhalla before getting my first computer and playing a variety of games. Years later my high school friends introduced meto under night in birth and I mained akatsuki. Throughout every fighting game my favorite thing to do is to perform hard reads and die from it even though I was ahead. Thanks for coming to my ted talk and for repecting women.
Great vid i loved the two part draculas theme lobster busta meme. Also, i got into fighting games cuz there was a lot of buzz on tumblr abt bridget when she came out, and i fell in love with her and wanted to play her. I ended up playing gio after scrolling past her a few times on my way to bridget, shes just so cool im so normal abt her. My giovanna obsession is what kept me playing the game till nyow.
1:36 I got into 2-D fighting games after playing exclusively Smash Bros back when they added Ryu to Smash 4. Someone unironically told me that it was fair and balanced for true input shoryu to kill at like 60 because “the input was hard” so I legit picked up SF5 (I believe it was anyway might have been 4, I don’t play street fighter anymore) just to say “no it’s not hard you just wanna be carried”
I got into fighting games with kof2002 when i was like 6 or something, I just mashed stuff while my dad just picks iori and it was game over for me lol
I hate to admit it but MK got me into fighting games. My first ever fighting game was I think Killer Instinct, Mk10 was the first fighting game I put effort in, then Mk11. I hold no love for these games anymore. Then UMVC3, which was a BIG jump from Mk. Too big so I dropped that too, went to guilty gear after my brother got me into it, and here I am today, still garbage at fighting games
Picked up smash for the wii U because why not, and I enjoyed it. Used kirby, too. Then when ultimate came out I now use ridley and been playing for about 5 years now since i've been getting a bit serious about it and may join esports here at my school if it's avaliable.
i sadly was unable to find the artist in the thumbnail itself even though its in there, i read it as @sycuz or something and reverse image search doesn't even bring me any results for the artist if anyone can help out id be glad!
1:36 dabbled a little bit in dbfz but my friend gifted me strive and pot has been epic ever since thx for asking franky ❤❤❤❤❤❤ i also likd and sorbscibed
dbfz was recommended by a different friend + dotodoya/argin/moldybagel videos showing up on yt recommended was always fun since strive my collection has grown to most series of airdashers with a sprinkle of samsho and street fighter 6 but i’m still not good at ANY of them lmao. hbu?
i only played fighting games incredibly casually and alone most of my life on consoles, then i stopped for ages, till strive dropped in and i kinda got involved into everything
Merry lobster jumpscares = 17
DAMN! bird = 1
Also to answer your question, no, they dont know how to play vs potempkin
To beat a Potemkin player in a way that actually matters, one must consume more glue than the Potemkin can. The Potemkin will then relinquish their secret glue recipes, you can beat them while they’re busy giving you recipes.
Only five days left till I feel jolly, merry and a little festive

pot: tap walks forward
gio: fuck i have to jump on wakeup
i used to have a technique called "the dance that makes you jump" with the old HPB input
I just made it into Celestial using only Potemkin, your videos are a godsend for inspiration to newer glue eaters like me.
i'm glad to hear! keep on the grind!
LOBER JUMPSCARE HELL YEAH

fighting games are such a rabbit hole i had the same with strive and now i own all the modern fighting games!
I got into fighting games because i saw my father play MK9 on the PS3 when i was little, and since then i've loved the genre
I want to point out that the mod intensity goes down on female characters and Asuka. Curious I’d say
the problem there is that most women's mods are just gigantic boob and nakedness with a FEW exceptions....its a problem in general ;/
Sorry to hear that man didn’t know

dark souls and elden ring pvp got me into this genre
crazy how similar they are
Army Green on Among Us Arena was the start of my FG addiction 👍👍👍
damn now thats a REAL fighting game!

that's so nice! having a game with someone close like this must be nice!
Yeah heheh especially with a franchise like guilty gear it was really nice to have a guide 😩

demondan is actually the reason i picked up pot too and strive in general!
@LoraLoibu ROBOT GANG
@@WantedFranky DemonDan is definitely a huge reason for why I play grapplers in all the fighting games i play.

Busting all over the comment section rn
I got into fighting games because demondan14 and you (only reason I play potemkin)
Honest to god you got me into fighting games. I only have 30 hours on GGST and you are my potbusting idol
i'm actually flattered to hear i hope youre enjoying yourself!

Got into fighting games with for honor then switched to gear on slayer, but the glue got me
ive heard for honor used to be really fun!
I got into fighting games by seeing mortal kombat 11 and guilty gear strive on gamepass and thinking “why not”
love gamepass, helps people into stuff allot easier

of course the edgy wolf mod has alt colors

also out of curiosity how many attempts did it take because i for some odd reason land it pretty often

glad to hear that strive is the portal to FGC for so many people!
Nerf Zato buff Fredward Fazbear
How do you feel about Pot's damage getting nerfed by actually a pretty big amount?
i wouldn't say toooooo much, 30 damage for PB is fine and HPB just does 10 less, its more than it was in s2 and most of 3
