- A demo video of the initial process of making a micro concrete roof tiles. This video was made by TAO-Pilipinas, Inc. as part of the livelihood training given to one of their partner communities who will do a self-help housing project.
Loved to have seen a finished tile.
Good day Mr. Rejuso! The moulds that we use were donated to us. As far as we know, the moulds are imported and is not available here. India and Thailand, distributes the entire technology package which includes the machine and the moulds. Countries in South America also distributes the mould. The machine and the mould that we have in our office are quite old.. more than a decade old already actually and they were just donated to our organization.
how does the concrete stay strong enough to resist breaking if there is no reinforcement? can you put wire mesh inside the concrete or is that not helpful?
When we first made this video, our only intention was to document the initial process. We uploaded it online so it can be readily available whenever we want to show it to our interested community partners. We never imagined it would get so many views over the years. We have used these roof tiles in our post disaster rehabilitation projects in Eastern Visayas. Head over to our website: htps://tao-pilipinas.org to know more about these project of ours.
Are you still using the machine? Have you found a market for the tiles?
The machines are currently in storage and unfortunately, we did not do any active marketing for the tiles. Most of the MCR tiles that we made were used in our own community infrastructure and housing projects. We are not actively producing and selling it.
❤ bonsoir j'aimerais savoir la composition de la patrz
Galing very useful! :-)
Please what is the ratio of material used?
The ratio of cement to sand is 1 part cement for every 3 parts sand. Water is added gradually until the mix is wet enough but not slurry. Just enough for the concrete mixture to be workable.
What is in the concrete mix? Is it reinforced?
Hi there is no reinforcement used in making the tiles. Cement sand ratio mix is 1:3. We use what we call here s3 grade sand.
@@TAOPilipinas Thanks for the reply. Are they durable? Do you do anything to waterproof the tiles? Where I live I'd be worried about cracking and spalling.
@@Thoracius yes they are durable. For waterproofing, we usually add a cement admixture to the concrete mix. We use the tiles in our communities along the coast as an alternative to GI sheets that easily corrodes because of being near the coast. They were able to withstand some of the strong typhoons that came our way.
@@Thoracius the MCR tiles should be properly cured (7 days water curing then 15 to 28 days for air curing) and throughout the air curing process the tiles are sprinkled with water once in a while to avoid cracking during air curing
@@TAOPilipinas How is the materials cost compared to GI?
In my area ready-made fiber-cement roofing tiles cost nearly 4x more than corrugated aluzinc sheet roofing (and that's not including installation/labor). So I'm curious about the feasibility of self-made tiles.
Pano po yung drying? Cure lang or nilalagay pa po sa loob ng kiln?
water curing for seven days then air curing for at least 15 days to 28 days. No need for kiln.
Ano pong ratio ng concrete gamit niyo?
Good Evening po!!
I'm from TUP Manila taking up BS Civil Engineering, I just want to ask po if ever saan po makakapagrent ng concrete tile roof machine na ginagamit niyo po. Huhuhu. Super badly needed lang po namin. Hoping for your favorable response po. Maraming Salamat po! GOD BLESS 😊❤
saan pwede bumili ng mould?
good👍🇮🇩
The first Samaria’s were black ⚔️
