I'm just about to do this on my car but was wondering about the oil you used. On the website it is only to be used for differentials. Does that not matter?
Very nice detailed procedure, encouraged me to do it myself lol. Question, how many quarts of gear oil and what type do you recommend and not so expensive? just want to change the gear oil.
Did you stay with the stock brakes? Was one of the 1st things i noticed, that needed upgrading on this car. Ended up going with willwood kits for front & rear
Man I thought I was crazy I had just done headers upipie downpipe tdo5 AND injectors on a street tune runs amazing but noticed my brakes are shit now 😭😭
No definitely not the same. The Automatic would require ATF (Automatic transmission fluid) I would recommend the valvoline maxlife multi vehicle ATF. Its pretty good stuff and its fully synthetic. Automatic transmissions normally have a filter that should be changed when changing the fluid. The differential fluid would be the same though.
Great video. Nice edits, thanks for sharing.
Isn't it supposed to be red?🤣🤣 had me rolling.
What turbo, what injectors & fuel pump? I see the stock intercooler there. Did you do upgrades? Take it to dyno? These cars are so fun

The 2002+ 5speed transmission should be 3.8qts. 75w-90 is recommended
@@4KMotoring yeah that's the one I have, turbo sedan. Perfect thanks! ama get the oem plug and washer as well to ensure no leaks for while lol.

If going to do sti, 6sp swap, then of course makes sense, get to use the brembos, from sti set up. Is another good route

Will this work for a gc8 Impreza
Subaru manual calls for Three Bond on the plug threads.
What fluid was used for transmission? (75W-90?) what about rear axle fluid?
Probably the same as what was put in the transmission. GL-5 gear oil
Read on a forum that 75w90 is good
Whatever happened to the trans how has it been running since? Mine just started doing this within 500 mileage of this car too
Transmission held up fine until the head gaskets blew and the car transferred ownership lol
@@4KMotoring whew what a relief I bought mine with the heads done. Still losing oil even after an AOS must have failing rings I’m thinking
Where did you guys order the cv axles?
Rockauto I believe
@@4KMotoring thanks for the quick reply man
Does my 2003 wrx have male or female axel inserts…? Truthfully I don’t know to tell the difference
If your transmission is original, the bugeye wrx should have female style axles. There's a roll pin you need to punch out to remove the front axles
Same thing for an auto?

What fluid did you use for your front and rear diff is it the same fluid?
Usually yes you can use the same fluid. Both front and rear call for GL-5 gear oil
Im a little late but this man trans is the same as 02 subaru impreza rs manual right?
I believe so!
@@4KMotoring ok💪🏻💪🏻
