Considering the eternal theme of the cosmos is nothing but disorderly chaotic destruction, Rick in my opinion is the only creature throughout the show that is committed to deliver this theme, thus the only icon of true justice.

In regards to the whole thing about Earth getting Cronenberged, it was also MORTY'S fault because he asked for the serum in the first place. And about the purge and Morty snapping, it was because the candy bars that he ate contained purgenol, which amplifies your violent tendencies!
But morty ate a bar that made him want to purge which means he didn't go on a rampage on purpose..
