    The key to remembering things well is to connect them with emotions and situations. You can make use of movies or books that you like. For example, if you enjoy reading Harry Potter, you can remember the word "隐藏" (meaning: hole up, hide)like this: Harry, feeling powerless, hid (隐藏) under the invisibility cloak and watched as Professor Dumbledore was murdered. The situation at the location (阝) or on top of the tower became urgent (急) as the Death Eaters rushed in. After being killed (戕) by the Dark Lord's servant (臣), Dumbledore fell onto the grass (艹) below.

    Fantastic tips! I have only recently seen the value of physically writing characters. I'm writing very basic sentences in Chinese about my day in my daily journal so i finally learn vocabulary relevant to me. I'm off to put sticky notes everywhere now - my poor husband 😂

    This is awesome! Yeah best tip is to think outside of the box, because everyone learns differently, and typical methods don't work for everyone. Love the stickynotes idea, i'm gonna piss my parents off by putting them all around the house.

      I’ve made many videos teaching Chinese language vividly and in a humorous way. I hope somebody can recommend my videos to those who want to learn Chinese. For beginners, Chinese characters may look complicated. But once you learn about 100 basic radicals, most characters become easy.

    Love the channel. Quick question. Whats the best app to test your tones out ?

    • @knowasia
      @knowasia  Год назад +2

      Hey Patrick,
      Thank you! Glad to hear that. ☺️
      For tones there are probably lots of ways to practice them. I personally found the app 'Learn Chinese HSK5 Chinesimple good. They have a word game, where you got to guess the tones based on the audio of the word. The app also exists for HSK 4,3,..

      Hey,
      thank you for your feedback. I am glad you enjoy the videos.
      As far as I know, there is no free app in which you can see all characters which share the same pinyin but not the same tones. But there might be one, which I am not aware of.
      My tip: If you want to find out which other words there are with a similar pinyin spelling, you can just use Pleco and type for example 'ma'. It will then show all characters which are pronounced as 'ma' + their tones.
