I got a loquat today because of your videos. I’m in the Pacific Northwest, zone 8. I’ve been needing a big leaf, tropical looking small tree to provide some shade for a section of my border that’s getting too much sun. The loquat is perfect. I was surprised to discover that they’re very common in Portland. I went to 3 nurseries today and all 3 had them. One even had some stunning white variegated loquats. They weren’t for sale yet. Apparently the variegated loquats grow extremely slowly. So I expect they will be quite expensive when they do make them available

I’ve got Colocasia Pharos mask surviving in my garden now for 3 years and we even had a really bad cold spell of -12C.
I’ve also got Alocasia that keeps coming back, it’s not hardy at all here in NC, USA, it’s a very tropical plant, but in my protected spot it keeps coming back every year since 2020.
I think you’ve got a warmer zone in general that I have so it might be worth planting some of those in the ground for you too.
I’ve also got heavy red clay soil here, so that’s the same or similar to what you have.
Mojito came back one year, but then it died. Things I thought I had completely lost came back this year. Very surprising and fun.

Cussonia, nice :) I just got a Spicata last week. And I grew Solanum Quitoense from seed, they aren't as big as yours yet but they are doing fine. Great Selection, also the Hibiscus

With pots you end up with a lot of slugs

Happy it’s helped, so many plants will grow well in pots with regular water and feeding. Thanks for watching.

Very true, I want to be very conscious not to create false impressions of my garden. There is ALWAYS a messy corner 😀 thanks for watching Daphne.

Hi. Where is your nursery, and you don’t seem
    To use hostas?

Hi Guus, I’m in Dorset in the UK. We are mail order only and aren’t open to visits. I tied Hostas but found they were eaten too quickly.
