Glock 19 does fuckin slap like god damn. the hook is pretty nasty. Yeah, they are some trap beats, but the dude is from Houston and this album sounds very houston
This EP has some really good verses but the beats could be more interesting. Kinda missing that Romil production ngl. Hope he goes with some better instrumentals on the next release.
These the kind of instrumentals you just drop bars on. Honestly a nice change of pace vs. the instrumentals with so many intricate sounds meshed together. It’s like new-age 90s beats. I dig it
This EP was def enjoyable, but the whole "i do terrible things because i came from terrible things" leaves a bad taste in my mouth because it feels like a guilt trip. I think its fine to be like "my background will explain why i behaved this way, but no one has to forgive me just because of my sob story." I dont hate Ameer or anything, and i hope he's getting help. I hope he's able to have healthy relationships and a good career from now on, and apologize when he's ready. WIsh for nothing but growth for him.
Kittens Mane to be fair i don’t think he’s begging anyone for forgiveness, especially considering the “i’d rather die on my feet than live on my knees” line.
I think he isn't in a place yet where he is able to just straight up apologise. The EP sounds really dark, Ameer clearly hasn't figured out everything yet and it will take time before he becomes fully "reformed".
Most clinical psychologists attribute someones actions as a product of their environment. Abusive household leads to abusive behavior because that's what you have learned from people who are supposed to be your role models. Trauma on that level can affect someones decision making severely, and in turn reflect on how they act. Is it an excuse? nah, but it is some context to where kind of shit lead him to this point. Shit, Pac had his demons and I bet you that some of what he did was related to the fucked up environment he lived in. We love Pac, we loved how he talked, and his message, but the guy had some problems for sure.
But ameer wasn't trying to give context, we already knew that his upbringing was fucked up, he rapped about it for 3 whole albums, this EP was him attempting to push all the blame for his actions onto his environment and little to none in terms of actual self reflection and attempts to change and grow as a person and to take the full blame for your actions, the way he was raised didn't force him to sexually assault anybody, he made that decision in the moment his upbringing might have influenced his choice to make that decision but ultimately it was his choice and his alone to do what he did.
Most irritating part of this whole thing is the fans trying to recruit every single guest or feature into the band cause I guess fifteen members and like five rappers isn't enough.
I'm just trying to understand why. He's not a terrible rapper, but boy is he repetitive and predictable. I think that people like him because his voice stood out well amongst the group and he's closer to a "pop-rapper" than anybody else in the group given his subject matter and flow. There's nothing wrong with that, but I still think everybody else outclassed him on pretty much every song I can think of. Yes, I also liked that verse on JUNKY, but I need a little bit more than "I took this many of this drug and got super high" to feel like a rapper is getting at all personal. That's just my perspective.
Gazebo Luecke when he was on brockhampton and was on a track, you didn’t forget he was on that track. Sometimes when I’m revisiting saturation’s trilogy I’ll be like “oh shit didn’t notice/remember this dom verse” but that could never be the case with ameer. He had without a doubt the biggest presence and would ride beats with extreme confidence that felt super impactful and personally would really draw in my attention to what he was saying if I started to wonder off and just focus on the crazy production. I think it’s annoying as people always mention the “he was repetitive and never switched up his flow.” We forget we are only basing this off what he did in a single year of 2017. Artists take time to grow and adapt and now with the other members with 2 more albums than ameer it’s easy to look back and say that and forget bearface wasn’t doing the exact same thing every track or like Matt champion was anymore diverse as ameer was on saturation. Joba was probably one of the only exceptions to that criticism throughout the trilogy. Ameer was without a doubt one of brockhamptons biggest pieces and was definitely the star of the saturation trilogy. They’ll always be weaker without eachother which is a shame because they were such a powerhouse before all the controversy and it’s sucks we won’t get to witness what they could have been. Luckily brockhampton is still doing well, and ameer is back tho.
Interesting, a lot if this seems to be based on personal preference, but I will try to reply anyways. I'm not sure what reason you would ever miss a Dom verse but I have a feeling pitch Is a factor as lower pitches are more demanding of your attention and Ameer always had the lowest pitch on every song. To your point about Matt I really think that's a false equivalency, and no, I'm not basing my opinions on Ameer based on one "hit single" whatever you meant by that. Ameer maybe has two songs I can think of at this moment where he doesn't start his verse with the word "I" or "my" and use the same flow he has seemed to master. Matt has multiple flows, has some funny punchlines as well as knowing when and how to be serious. I can give you that he would be the second least interesting lyricist pre iridecence and I guess technically the least interesting post iridecence if I really had to pick one. Ameer can be funny, but in mire of a "don't let him near your children" kinda way, so if that's your bag I can understand the preference there. Again, absolutely nothing wrong with some good weed rap and a delivery speed thats consistently slow, but I don't think he's done anything to justify overshadowing any of the better rappers from the group like Dom or Joba.

The Sway interview afterwards adds a ton of context to this EP. He speaks about how he moved out when he was 17 and immediately into a house with Ian and Romil and how they saw him at one of his lowest moments so he feels betrayed cause he was alienated and had to go through everything alone. He goes into how he wrote it while he was spiraling cause he was manic and also speaks on how shitty what he did was and his remorse for it tbh. He could’ve spoke on the situation a bit more but I do feel like being painted as evil and written off by these suburban white kids who don’t understand anything about his background had a lot to do with his response not feeling so apologetic.
Then again most of what we know about the situation is based on “he said this” “he said that” so if we are giving brockhampton the benefit of the doubt why not give it to ameer aswell?
for real lol. only real thing thats came out so far is that he set up doms friend to get robbed. thats worth the kick if im being honest but throwing him for the wolves too and letting the stans tear him apart for allegations was lame
there's strenght in numbers my guy. What's more belieavable? That all his bandmates and past girlfriends ganged up on him and made shit up or that he was in fact shitty? Even matt's ex who was around at the time attested to him being abusive towards his partners. We obviously dont know the full extent of the situation but absolving ameer of blame when there's so many people coming out with shit against him is some crazy shill behaviour.
@@denisaavram9709 if matts ex knew about him being abusive at the time and cared enough to speak out after the allegations thats shady lmao. she coulda let em know when she knew instead of waiting so that point wont fly with me. It's just weird how no proof has come out about that shit after he was dropped, just more people hopping on to say he was a garbage dude. He's obviously pretty fucking dumb and trash and admits this a lot, but in my opinion if he can vent out on a track about it and trying to learn better its not like hes keeping it a secret. He's open and apologetic for it, so getting blocked out by his former homies so quick for it was just kinda sad.
This man has The Waters by Mick Jenkins, Atrocity Exhibition by Danny Brown, the Never Story by JID, Laila's Wisdom by Rapsody, and One-X by Three Days Grace on the wall??? You've earned yourself a sub my friend
That album made me realize what was missing in brockhampton stylistically glad he’s back and apologized through the album I know it hurts that they moved forward
I’ve never listened to BrockHampton. I have no idea what happened. I just know this dude left and made an EP. Glock 19 is my favorite song of this year. The instrumental is FIRE. On the first listen I thought it was just a generic rap song with a hard beat and some unique production with the instrumental. A couple listens later I bothered to pay attention to what he was saying and I was blown away at the layers. It’s lowkey a sad song. Which is beautiful in a way because it doesn’t sound like it if you aren’t paying attention to the words.
I love that hes finally speaking up with this tape. His "brothers" did him wayyy wrong, and so did everyone elso who agreed with the way these accusations were handled
I love Ameer’s music, and I think this EP is dope, but I look forward to hearing him post all of this. Obviously these are things he’s dealing with and omelette the man deal, but when he’s ready to change up his work, I’m excited to see what kinda music he’ll make.
Idk Who this dude is But I saw you and Anthony Talk about him yesterday and Ion regret checking him out! Ep went Hard AF! Songs were good musically and seemed pretty personal/meaningful...
Ameer was easily the best rapper in brockhampton with Dom right behind him. While listening to this ep though I didn't care about brockhampton. I listened to it as if this was his first time releasing music. I'm honestly really impressed. 8 for sure.
I understand why, but it sucks that they kicked him out of Brockhampton after the the Saturation trilogy. IMO, they haven’t really come out with anything better than the trilogy since Saturation III.
salt yeah, I enjoyed the 199X songs, but Ginger and Irridescence are some cheeks. Both of the subject matters on the albums are “we’re so upset cuz we kicked Ameer out”
I think that when he said "being a product of his enviroment" it means that he was too engrained and could not change the way all of the people in his enviroment act in his own life, even though he could have at one point, it's like being too weak to change or something.
You need to watch his interview and then come back and listen to his album. Promise it’s a different out look and he address everything and in more detail than the first track
I'm happy Ameers releasing music again but I wish they would've ended the Ameer Vann and Brockhampton relationship on good terms. Lots of mistakes were made on both sides and I hope they can squash any beef in the future.
@@blaze8685 yes, but honestly it felt like it was a little tough for him to carry the song by himself his performance was intense on the 3rd verse and hooks, but his flow throughout the whole song, and the project overall, is his biggest weakness, he really doesn't have nothing else but the Ameer flow (Glock 19 bangs BUT it gets redundant real quick) a feature or two could've been the trick to avoid the monotony for a bit, but since that's a pretty personal project, i get why he wouldn't put one
if RUclips sees that, they'll just slap a big demonetization on Shawn's vid, that's why he censors shit related to drugs, guns, violence, sex and shit like that

He could’ve spoke on the situation a bit more but I do feel like being painted as evil and written off by these suburban white kids who don’t understand anything about his background had a lot to do with his response not feeling so apologetic.
Thank you
Then again most of what we know about the situation is based on “he said this” “he said that” so if we are giving brockhampton the benefit of the doubt why not give it to ameer aswell?
for real lol. only real thing thats came out so far is that he set up doms friend to get robbed. thats worth the kick if im being honest but throwing him for the wolves too and letting the stans tear him apart for allegations was lame
Brandon Camarena a lot of them BH stan’s are annoying as hell. they don’t ever look at both sides of the story
Jos brock and hampton have no validity especially after they forced those guys to jump around in their videos.
there's strenght in numbers my guy.
I feel like everybody deals with his situation differently just because you came from a rough background doesn’t mean you know his mindset
Ameer was my favourite member glad he's dropping stuff
Other than women
Deven Solanki bruh I shit
"bruh i shit" - mlk jr.
Friendship with Brcok and Hampton ended.
A mirror van is my new friend.
That album made me realize what was missing in brockhampton stylistically
glad he’s back and apologized through the album
I know it hurts that they moved forward
Shawn conflicted on whether or not he should feel for Ameer going this hard lol
Ayo I didn't expect you to release this so quickly, I thought I would get one more day to listen.
10:22 but you also have to remember, there won’t be a lot of great producers with unique beats jumping at his feet with beats.
That awkward moment when your review has more views than Ameer's clip for Emmanuel
I thought ameer was called Brock Hampton when I first listened. Nuff said
Lmao he was my favorite
I thought he was the leader of the group at first
This is exactly what I wanted/expected from him 😭 9/10
Why does the music sound better through this video than on spotify. What damn speaker are you using pls!?
Apple Music sound quality is better which is what he uses
Full studios tend to get more bass than Bluetooth speakers
Nicholas RO You can stream in high quality on Spotify. It’s not the default though, you have to adjust it in your settings.
sound quality barley matters lol, adjust EQ in spotifys settings its right above storage
Apparently some people hear a difference. I think it's bullshit, lol
You nearly calling him brockhamptom says so much lmao
Emmanuel should join Brockhampton
Somebody needs to call Shawn for feature it's only way we'll get that Album
wow youve really come far as a reviewer of music its really cool to watch
Was waiting all day on this
Last time I was this early Ameer was in Brock Hampton.
Lwazi Nozulu how did this get 26 likes?
Think about it, we wont ever get anything like the saturation trilogy :(
I love that hes finally speaking up with this tape. His "brothers" did him wayyy wrong, and so did everyone elso who agreed with the way these accusations were handled
I’m so early and Shawn still doesn’t have legs.
6:47
@@roonyq obviously fake.
It’s the modern day Ice Cube vs NWA
I’m glad Mr Brock Hampton changed his name to Emmanuel.
I love Ameer’s music, and I think this EP is dope, but I look forward to hearing him post all of this. Obviously these are things he’s dealing with and omelette the man deal, but when he’s ready to change up his work, I’m excited to see what kinda music he’ll make.
HIS ALWAYS BEEN IN MY HEART IDGAF
Idk Who this dude is But I saw you and Anthony Talk about him yesterday and Ion regret checking him out!
Ep went Hard AF! Songs were good musically and seemed pretty personal/meaningful...
There’s a lot of ppl who troll I can’t tell if you’re being serious or not sorry 😐 but if you are being serious check out The Saturation Trilogy
Ameer was easily the best rapper in brockhampton with Dom right behind him. While listening to this ep though I didn't care about brockhampton. I listened to it as if this was his first time releasing music. I'm honestly really impressed. 8 for sure.
LETS GO AMEER IS BACK
I understand why, but it sucks that they kicked him out of Brockhampton after the the Saturation trilogy. IMO, they haven’t really come out with anything better than the trilogy since Saturation III.
not even close
salt Ginger and IRRIDESCENSE are nowhere near the Saturation trilogy, change my mind.
Young In can’t and won’t. Lol I agree 100% I’ve legit only genuinely enjoyed 1999 wildfire since the saturation era.
salt yeah, I enjoyed the 199X songs, but Ginger and Irridescence are some cheeks.
Digitalbox bingo
You need to watch his interview and then come back and listen to his album. Promise it’s a different out look and he address everything and in more detail than the first track
the last solid brock hampton album was saturation 3 change my mind.
Okay Ameer stan.
Disagree, Ginger is great
ginger brought them back from the mid
supertboi123 personally I only enjoyed like 3 songs off ginger
Iridescence was average. Ginger was better but still not as good as any of the Saturation albums. Ameer's departure really hit both parts hard.
Mirrors in the vann go harder than the ham
this album is probably what we expected from crash talk
Ameer came out of all these allegations stronger than when he started really excited for whatever comes next
Damn those first two tracks are so Grundy and gritty fucking love it
Is it just me or did he have Nessly's WHOHASIT remixed/sample for Glock 19.
just came here to see how he pronounces Emmanuel
A lot of these songs give me the same vibe that teeth did
I'm happy Ameers releasing music again but I wish they would've ended the Ameer Vann and Brockhampton relationship on good terms. Lots of mistakes were made on both sides and I hope they can squash any beef in the future.
Andrxwc I wish he’d “squash his beef” with the women he’s hurt
Maybe not all of the bars are for bh guys, ameer probably has a lot of beefs with a lot of ppl giving his background
This dude was a huge reason why I listened to BH
“What do you want me to do at this point? I’m being assaulted” Probably not a good choice of words in this context💀
the way rock hamptons music changed makes it look like the hole group was standing behind him
I know you don't really react to pop music but Charli XCX's new album Charli is really interesting and I'd love to hear your take on it.
that thumbnail kinda sus ngl
Jacob Mcboss I clicked off the video and laughed. Thank you. Funny
Next thing you know brockhampton is gonna have a new rapper named Emmanuel joining the group.
*I'M A MIRROR*
- Ameer Vann
Honestly thought it was generic af, but the title track slaps
Did u listen to glock 19?
@@blaze8685 yes, but honestly it felt like it was a little tough for him to carry the song by himself
his performance was intense on the 3rd verse and hooks, but his flow throughout the whole song, and the project overall, is his biggest weakness, he really doesn't have nothing else but the Ameer flow (Glock 19 bangs BUT it gets redundant real quick)
a feature or two could've been the trick to avoid the monotony for a bit, but since that's a pretty personal project, i get why he wouldn't put one
@@Kujinomics Dog this just aint true. I get ameer flow can get repetive but glock 19 a bonafide banger.
This shit was HARD I missed this dude rapping
GIVE US THE RNB ALBUM
never seen seen your videos before
i love this shit man
I would say first but I need to know why u censored “glock”?
if RUclips sees that, they'll just slap a big demonetization on Shawn's vid, that's why he censors shit related to drugs, guns, violence, sex and shit like that
Kuji Kuji he didn't censor the other Glock tho
@@pbear1988 he probably forgot it lol
TNT Giant but i need to know why u lost to valencia
Kuji Kuji Jesus RUclips sucks
why this video longer than the whole ep
It was good to hear from him again though most of the production fell a little flat. Plus, like Shawn, I thought some of Ameer’s justifications/ reflections on the situation were a little questionable
Ameers case is just another example of him rapping about EXACTLY WHAT CAUSED HIM TO BE “canceled” or whatever. And then someone says its true and everyones all fucked up about it
Ameer EP Drinking Challenge: Take a shot every time Ameer says I/I'm
thanks for putting me on ameer vann
