For real Sway didn’t hold anything back. Right from the start he got to the controversy and didn’t let up until like 20-25 minutes in. Ameer stayed really composed.
True, but due to the history of family and personal issues he's also a little self-absorbed... From the get-go with questions about sexual assault and emotional abuse, he doesn't express sympathy or understanding for the women but focuses on how crushed he felt and how he wanted to make himself a better person. It's mature and admirable but there's not a strong sense of empathy for negatively affecting other people
when he recited his whole SWAMP verse I was almost tearing up bro, no joke, I was like... "shit, this really is the same guy who was goofing around in BH and making all those amazing songs with his best friends". it just doesn't compute to me and I almost want to separate the two in my head because it seems nearly impossible that someone's life can change so drastically and that he could lose all of his friends and career in a hearbeat like that. shit's fucked up, honestly. for all parties involved, and especially for him.
*Ameer was the reason I stayed locked in to listening to BrockHampton, my favorite artist out the bunch and I appreciate Sway for giving him the spotlight after everything that went on*
David Anderson i think he was getting at it with with his swamp verse at 18:30 “black mask used to kick doors, weren’t no bullets in the gun tho, niggas still never argue, raid the house like a task force”

The fact he sat there while they dissected the situation and listened to the boys he misses the most talk about him then proceed to talk about such big topics is brave. Respect
Only thing Sway missed bringing up is the whole situation about Ameer setting up one of Dom McLennon’s friends to be robbed (which is covered in one of Dom’s deleted tweets and in his verse on “DEARLY DEPARTED”). That’s most likely the biggest thing between Ameer and BH in terms of rebuilding their relationship, and I would have wanted to see Ameer’s perspective on that. Otherwise, great interview
Honestly I feel like this is something they were told not to bring up. No matter what ameer said it would start drama and controversy and it seems like that’s the last thing he wants rn

this man is so real its hard not to respect him. so humble, honest, self-aware, loving, patient, and classy. I believe it matters where someone is focusing and striving toward more than where they have been in the past. some people start 15 miles behind in a 10 mile race.
Ameer is a real one . Hes not making excuses and hes not trying to hide . Hes taking every step in the right direction and i really hope he gets to his goal he deserves it and he should be an example and role model for everyone
The peak quality of the fan base was during and shortly after the saturation trilogy. It felt so good being a part of the hype behind this group that was making amazing music, with members that bring different things to the group, not knowing 100 percent everyone that actually made a part of it, sort of had a mystery to it. The music was what brought everyone together to wanna follow this group. Then after all the ameer stuff happened, all these teenagers just started bandwagoning on the group and the fanbase just became almost the hip hop equivalent of kpop fans. Their behavior and how they "stan" is cringe at times. Whether they just wanted to support brockhampton after the accusations and removal of ameer, Kevin being openly gay, or liking the new music, it just didn't feel the same tbh. .It was gonna happen eventually but the SAT trilogy was peak fan base days.
Ameer was my favorite BH member when I first got into them. I was pretty upset when he got kicked out. I’m glad he’s improving himself and getting better and i’ll always be a fan 🥳
I’m glad to hear Ameer is able to open up about his situation and his mental health, refute some of the accusations, and admit the bad things he has done and try to redeem himself and grow as a person. Respect.
I think him leaving BH helped him heal as he wouldn’t have found himself if he had kept going down the road he was going down. His story is very inspiring and will really help others and I think he and BH will do fine as it was a hard decisions for both of them to come to.
I don’t hate Ameer, and I do believe what he says about the accusations. But I also understand that the women who accused him really did feel some sort of abuse from him.
100%, 2 sides to every story, just because he didn’t mean to make a woman feel that way, the woman still has every right to feel any way she feels. I seen on twitter where someone said “are you the villain in anyone’s story?” And it makes you think, you’re obvious you’re superhero in your life, but you can easily be the bad guy in someone else’s. Life is really gray, not black & white.
Rigoberto Alcantar no offense but if you’re the ‘superhero’ in your life then maybe it would be good to keep that in check and consider how other people think of you
brandon white I think a more reasonable way to put it is standing by the words and the message they project. Matt’s junky verse is an attack on rape culture and the covering up or defence of possible sexual predators. Yes, you could call it “protecting their image” but I think of it as “acting what they preach”.
I’m proud of Ameer for taking accountability for his actions and taking the right steps to heal. I only wish the best for him and for him to keep thriving ❣️
i really admire ameer’s honesty and his ability of being so open about talking about bh. some people run away from their mistakes and problems but ameer had the courage to address and acknowledge what he did and i really admire the fact that he still respects bh even after the pain that they caused. it wasnt easy for any of them. lets all remember that. ameer is cancelled by many bh stans now but we need to acknowledge what was happening on ameer’s side. he knew what he did wrong, he apologized. ameer is a person with a kind heart and i applaud him for being that.
This is crazy to hear because I was front row at Boston Calling for their set and just seeing how emotional the group all got on stage to the point that they broke down in tears and had to cancel the rest of the tour says a lot. A lot went on behind the scenes that fans don’t know about (including me), and we may not ever get the full story but I personally feel that sometimes the effects of cancel culture can also be just as toxic as the behaviors it doesn’t condone. I’m glad Ameer is working on himself and I appreciate knowing a little more of what happened that day from his perspective as a lot of fans have felt confused and let down since that day and of course when the whole situation unfolded and caused a huge divide. Thank you Sway for being a great interviewer and approaching these topics with grace and respecting the rest of the boys while giving Ameer a platform to give his side of the story. I hope everyone’s healing and moving forward in a positive direction.

He handled it well. I understand why BH told him to go to Texas and get help, but I also understand how that felt. Maybe he overreacted a bit, in walking out?
DatNarutoFan when you’re all over the place mentally most people won’t wanna fw you, in hindsight his behaviour could have been the reason why they didn’t want to help and why they didn’t explain shit. I actually think both sides acted kinda dumb/rash.
they’re all young. and honestly i’m a new fan so i’m just getting into BH/ameer’s music so i don’t even know the full story. but from what i can gather, honestly this whole ordeal really just proved that they’re still young and i guess being given spotlight and fame so suddenly is pressurising. it’s sad, ya know. so i guess at the end of the day, what i’m tryna say is that people don’t make the best decisions when faced with pressure.
@Mason Walker what part of reflecting on your own actions is he not getting?its his mistakes and only he could work on it.blaming BH is childish and immatureof him
saturation II is the best brock album because ameer had one of the most prevalent roles, the fact that the rest of the group don’t speak to him is real sad and i miss him man

Ameer was one of the strongest voices in BH. Also, love how he’s owning up to his mistakes. I’ve been there. I can really see his growth and him wanting to grow. Good on you, Ameer.
I don't know much about Shia LeBeouf's personal life. But he isn't a therapist. "Friday Therapy" may be an open group-talk session, but it's not therapy. I've always been a little irked with how obsessed with fame Kevin is, and how his "therapy" session has to be headed by an actor, and all the attendees have to be involved with Hollywood industry in one way or another.
Great interview Ameer was my favorite artist in BH and once he was removed i never got the same vibe from Brockhampton even though Ginger was still Dope. I’m glad Ameer seeked help and is standing in his truth! Very rare you see young artist do this.
I agree with him. If my friends of 10 years told me to handle my mental issues alone instead of supporting me because their paycheck was in jeopardy, I wouldn't want to come back to them and ask for forgiveness either. As a friend of someone for that long, the least you can do is support the person and help them into rehab or something like that instead of having a manager deliver the bad news that you're not performing or in the group anymore. Fuck em as far as I'm concerned. He's better off moving on to better things with new friends if that's how little they cared about his mental health.
thought he was going to try and defend himself all through this interview with the first things he said... man, I feel so happy he got better, it is so cool to see him mature so much. Thank you Ameer for being so honest.
this interview was too good. ameer addressed so much shit that i didn’t even know, and it truly made me understand more about the ameer & bh issue. i am glad he looks so much happier and mentally stable.
you can definitely see he’s matured and grown as a person to improve and fix his mistakes. i’m glad he owns up to it and just wants things to be better again, rather than letting his past decisions define who he is, and make him a bad person. you can see how much he’s grown from this and i’m glad he’s back in touch with the boys.

Just played the whole Emmanuel album and these words have more meaning now. Ameer opening up truly shows his growth in recovery, big ups!
I feel like Ameer just feels betrayed by BH but doesn't want to say it..
Macc aroni He said it like 3 times
Hes said it on Los Angeles and some other songs off the EP
Iont keep up wit shit patna.
@@maccaroni6355 its literally in the video tho lmao and your in the comments
We all know it so I don’t think he has to
Ameer the real ones still got a lot of love for you bro! Proud of you
reminds me a lot of Shia Laebouf and his accountability towards his upbringing and actions
this man is so real its hard not to respect him. so humble, honest, self-aware, loving, patient, and classy. I believe it matters where someone is focusing and striving toward more than where they have been in the past. some people start 15 miles behind in a 10 mile race.
This was kinda intense to watch as the questions were so straight up but I loved this interview. Glad Ameer is doing well !
Ameer is a real one . Hes not making excuses and hes not trying to hide . Hes taking every step in the right direction and i really hope he gets to his goal he deserves it and he should be an example and role model for everyone
Shoutsout Ameer man! Been hoping he would come up to Sway
@FREAQU why
@FREAQU nah that was never me. i always thought the allegations weren't that deep & he was and still is the best rapper in or out of BH.
BROCKHAMPTON are a pretty talented band but their fan base are annoying asf.
Dan Kale FACTUAL STATEMENT
“We Stan” “Kevin’s gay” 🤪🤪🤪
Brockhampton are amazing but their fanbase is abysmal. Like they make me embarrassed to call myself a fan.
Almost ruins the music
I really love his song “Sincerely, Yours”.
ChocoftheCharts really one of the best songs out of all of brockhampton
Me too it's very personal

Life is really gray, not black & white.
i meaaaaaan... basic logic says just because someone feels offended does not mean an offense has occurred
Rigoberto Alcantar no offense but if you’re the ‘superhero’ in your life then maybe it would be good to keep that in check and consider how other people think of you
@@Just.Kidding that’s not true at all. Plenty of people have done fucked up shit towards others without intending to or even knowing that they were.
@@Hipno702 that's true but his point still stands. There are a lot of people who felt offended when there was nothing to offend them
I miss the 2017 days right after south central before the fan base split makes me nostalgic even tho it’s only been 2 years
FREAQU lmfaooo man that was like 3 years ago I forgot how to change it LMFSOON
crazy cuz that was back when I discovered them an thought they were dope af man. Nostalgic fr
Lax same man used to tell everyone Ik about them it was something special
I’m glad Ameer is growing and healing as a person, but I completely understand why brockhampton kicked him out of the group.
Yeah they wanted to protect their image more than help their friend.
brandon white they have to feed their families too
brandon white it was partially Ameer’s decision too. I think he needed time out of the limelight to get his shit together and recover too
Ameer left himself, and he set up Doms friend to be robbed so he kinda deserved to be kicked
brandon white I think a more reasonable way to put it is standing by the words and the message they project.
We love you bro keep striving
Man I’m so happy for Ameer. I am really glad I got to hear his side of the story because it really changed my perspective on him
Amazing Interview! That is how it's done! Sway didn't hold back but he wasn't judgemental, nor did it sound like he was attacking him. Really loved Amers honesty in this vid! Truly believe he's going to help someone with his testimonial. Wish him the best 🙏🏾✊🏾 Great way to start my day
I thought this situation was a lot worse than it actually was... this interview was definitely needed.
ameers face when he brought up the accusations 😔😔😔
I feel disgusted w myself for always just assuming shit I need to work on that. Hearing ameer speak on this gave me a new perspective and I’m happy for him honestly. I’m glad he’s becoming better

Heather B always says something wise and insightful. Underrated
Would’ve liked to hear his side of the story about setting up Dom’s friend to get robbed.
iEggSavior he might’ve asked sway not to mention it because he doesn’t want to self incriminate
He handled it well. I understand why BH told him to go to Texas and get help, but I also understand how that felt. Maybe he overreacted a bit, in walking out?
Why would you stay in a group thats acting like they dont fw you anymore and aren't explaining shit to you? That's a dumb move.
@Mason Walker what part of reflecting on your own actions is he not getting?its his mistakes and only he could work on it.blaming BH is childish and immatureof him
I want Ameer to win bro, he gets so much hate and people don’t even know what he really going on
saturation II is the best brock album because ameer had one of the most prevalent roles, the fact that the rest of the group don’t speak to him is real sad and i miss him man
It’s about time I get to see them head rolls!!!!
How do you deal with yours?

This is the most unexpected interview ever
His honesty is his strength. Wishing Great things for this young man.
This is just a great interview, straight up. Not a lot people with this kind of history are given chances to speak on such a large public platform

Ameer was one of the strongest voices in BH. Also, love how he’s owning up to his mistakes. I’ve been there. I can really see his growth and him wanting to grow. Good on you, Ameer.
it makes me happy that ameer still remembered his whole SWAMP verse :)

This was intense and I’m so happy this is out. Been waiting for his forever and I’m rooting for him.
Brockhampton needed therapy as well that's why they have shi labeouf as a mentor.
Immortal Vegan uhhhh lmfao ok
I don't know much about Shia LeBeouf's personal life. But he isn't a therapist. "Friday Therapy" may be an open group-talk session, but it's not therapy. I've always been a little irked with how obsessed with fame Kevin is, and how his "therapy" session has to be headed by an actor, and all the attendees have to be involved with Hollywood industry in one way or another.
that’s so funny they really are buds with shia

I BEEN WAITING ON MY BOI
I respect this guy so much, I am so happy that he got help and is trying to become a better person
Not really fair to make him reflect on such heavy shit and then ask him to spit BARS right after.
If he hadn't have been cancelled do you think he'd have taken the time to reflect
Anakie Maybe one day he might have, as an older adult. But most likely not as a young man b/c he would have never been held accountable
You could look at his lyrics, it looked like he already was trying to be better
@@licoricelaces4205 well if the Dom allegations are correct, he wasn't trying too hard
I respect that he's genuinely making an effort to change and improve as a person. Also the fact that he is willing to admit and accept his own faults.
thought he was going to try and defend himself all through this interview with the first things he said...
man, I feel so happy he got better, it is so cool to see him mature so much.
