  • Recorded July 2000 with Larry King at the infamous Rikers Island in New York.
Sante and Kenny Kimes, a notorious mother and son team, convicted of the cold-blooded killing of a wealthy New York widow, sentenced to more than a century each behind bars. She's got a rap sheet that stretches back four decades, including a stint in prison for slavery. He could face the death penalty if California convicts them in another murder case. Some say they're pure evil.
(While giving an interview a few months later, Kenny Kimes held Court TV reporter Maria Zone hostage by pressing a ballpoint pen into her throat. After 4 hours they wrestled Kenny to the ground and the reporter was unharmed.)
(A 2001 made-for-TV movie, Like Mother, Like Son: The Strange Story of Sante and Kenny Kimes, starred Mary Tyler Moore as Kimes - wiki)
(Kenny said: "My hands are around Irene’s neck, and I can feel the electricity pulsing through this tiny woman as I strangle the life out of her,' the con - now claiming to be reformed - wrote in an open letter published by Narratively.")

@@tyo8754 There's info on the net if you Google her
Apparrently her insecure poor background instilled in her a terror of poverty. She was a crook from early on, also something of a playground bully. She would steal even when there was no need to.
I gather she actually began a journalism course at university. She'd probably have made a good investigative journalist, being able to b/s her way in anywhere.
The irony is she actually succeeded in life; she married a millionaire. She could and should have used some of his money to expand his property empire even further. But it looks like she was only satisfied if she made her way dishonestly, like dishonesty was an addiction for her.
Tragic for both herself and her boy, and all the other people they hurt.
