Living In Dominican Republic - What It's Like (CABARETE)

  • I had been in the Dominican Republic for several weeks and now living in the north part of the island in the town of Cabarete. I had previously visited Punta Cana, Santo Domingo, Puerto Plata, Sosua and then ended up in Cabarete. The dominican republic had been really great so far and I had seen many good touristy places. The apartment I had was located just 1 minute from the beach. It is not the typical tourist places that you see in for example Mexico and places like Playa Del Carmen, Cancun, Tulum, Puerto Vallarta or Cozumel. Here there are less tourists and a bit of a more relaxed vibe. The place has not yet been destroyed by a surge in tourism. In this video you will see some drone footage of the beach, the gym, and a bit of what it is like to live here.

Maybe you have a purpose already and just don't know it? Do you know how many people enjoy watching your videos? How many people learn about new cities and countries because of your documenting? How many people laugh at your sense of humor? You are helping people in many different ways. I am personally grateful for finding your channel. I've been dealing with personal issues the last couple of years and seeing you out there traveling by yourself has given me the strength and courage to do it as well.
So many people just follow the expectations and avenues that society tries to pressure us into. Get a good job. Buy a house. Start a family. Buy nice cars and fancy clothes. It's all bullshit, William. I have watched enough of your videos that I can see you are searching for something. You feel as if something is missing. Stop looking so hard and just continue to live life the way you want. You are helping thousands of people already. You only get one shot, have fun with it and enjoy doing whatever makes you happy. The rest will fall into place.

I also have many personal issues and I think you are right about how impactful these videos can be! As someone who lives in paradise I can say that we can’t outrun our issues but certain places are better than others for trying to reconnect with ourselves. I hope you find ur path too Coldashell ✌🏽 ❤

@@ShauninParadise Thx brother! I think you nailed it with reconnecting to ourselves. Hell, if I'm being honest I don't think I've ever known who I truly am. Bits and pieces, sure. But, I've spent a good chunk of my life trying to please others or live life on their terms. I've been able to focus on myself for a bit now and it's nice to get back to that. Wishing you well and sending positive vibes your way!

You are so right! I’m wanting to leave the states for better quality of life at lower cost, but feel “responsible” that be at beck and call of my 79 year old Mother. I did that for my Dad who passed 3 years back. However, now I feel a bit stifled and the opportunity to have a passive income become more than enough in the right place (outside the US). I just have to let go of the things-house with contents, car and lots of stuff I don’t need. I think that everyone needs to find the community they can belong to and feel valued and supported. That is my number one concern and moving around too quickly is a barrier. I want to find an area to stay long term, but still have money to travel often. Is that too lofty?! It’s my dream!! Keep up your self-reflection, William, and the answers will come if you are open to the possibilities. ❤❤

I agree that people need a purpose in life. Vacationing is a treat that you can enjoy while taking a break from the life you have built. That's my belief at least. It would be different if for some reason someone has endless wealth and could just do anything but they also would most likely need a purpose of some sort. I love my family more than anything in the world including vacationing. That's just how it is for me . Always enjoy watching your videos.

There are a lot of videos of tourists showing hotels and places, you should do something different." ----I absolutely agree, go to their streets and houses and villages from time to time, eat and mingle with them and then show us the life they live.

I was literally yelling bullsh*t when I heard the price of both beers. What a shame and low down dirty!

Nice video! Important to enjoy a little bit sometimes. I am like you. I dont go out much even when I am abroad. Try to enjoy the beers. I cant drink beer anymore but I am happy that I took the chance to enjoy while I could. For the taste in the tropics especially, not for the alcohol 🙂
