Great video! I was on Zanzibar in1987. There were only a couple dozen tourists on the island then. Looks like it's changed quite a bit. I remember the beaches and the friendly people.

We especially enjoyed your Mexico videos as we too love Mexico. We have done 47 "land" trips to Mexico - mostly Playa del Carmen, Cancun, Riviera Maya, Tulum and now our favorite place, Isla Mujeres. We have Mexico coming up again in April with 4 nights on Isla Mujeres and 7 nights in Cancun. With that and trips upcoming to Costa Rica and Miami/Key West, we're gonna do some pool tricks. The Art and amazing colors in the market made me happy to see! I love when you show the markets wherever you travel... I know sometimes it's not so safe because people want to steal cameras I suppose.... When I was in Mexico my host family advised me to not take photos at all in the market due to huge problems with Theft in their area.. both cameras and cell phones are targets! Hope the mosquitos leave you alone... Don't fry yourself too much ... save your skin! Thanks for another great video!!

Today, its mainstays are spices and tourism. That said, finding people who have visited the island is still quite rare, making this a dream location still very much off the beaten track.

I'm travelling solo, never felt unsafe, Zanzibaris are so friendly. Try Lukmans restaurant for really good food at local prices.
