Me and a friend were talking about how this was his favourite new place in the game because of the depth of the story that took place here, incredible stuff
@@TeddySurgery gotta agree, a more intimate take on storytelling done very well. Leading up to that chilling dinner scene. And the cathartic moon landing right after. SO well paced!
This was a special zone for me…it’s when I began to catch on to the theme of the expansion. I had expected to go into Garlemald guns blazing and rip through them. Instead, they were so fearful and thought I was a monster…Garleans had defected before, but seeing them refusing to join us because they thought I was a monster and realizing that maybe…I was…it hit different
This is another of my favorite EW pieces. Somehow it encapsulates the melancholy of Garlemald's current state... Leaderless, desparate, hungry.. but still proud to a fault. Stellar performance as always!
This is so good. I love the pace it's played at, the way it's tattered pride held close around one's self to warm in the cold night and retain dignity.
Garlemald was my favorite zone of EW. One of the best storylines, and I didn't mind the stealth mission too much. But the final duty was truly special for me (spoilers btw). It's a great exercise in disempowerment, putting us into the boots of one of the schmooks we cut down on the regular. It also shows something very special about the WoL. After getting a bomb to the face, he/she rushes to Zenos and is ready to throw down with a much stronger opponent (at the time, us), even at death's door and without any apparent advantage. The only disappointing part was that this battle didn't happen. It would be sooo good if you had to fight Zenos/yourself as Graha or one of the Scions, protecting what appears to be a random Garlean soldier from their dearest friend.
When I first heard this in the game it completely caught me off guard, it’s an achingly beautiful theme. This arrangement and performance really captures that same sense of isolation and hopelessness that I felt playing through that section. Bravo John!!!
WOWWWW the original track was such a haunting melody but the way you play it really gives it a much warmer tone that makes you realize how beautiful it is too.... great work as always John!!
And once again, You leave me stunned. While Garlemald was my least favorite region personally, The music there, Like everywhere else in Endwalker, Was INCREDIBLE at giving off certain emotions, And you recaptured these PERFECTLY. I fear the day you cover the song that plays for anything relating to the Final Days / Despair. (Though a good type of fear. Please do this.)
Another John Oeth FFXIV cover and on my birthday no less, what an absolute frikken SNACC. Thanks man, your music is incredible as always, and the cinematography and scenery choice are also *chefs kiss*

Alphinaud and Alisaie aged 10 years emotionally in the Garlemald chapter. Gorgeous performance John, it brought me right back to that place.

they had to do something with that empty ass zone x_x imagine waiting years for Garlemald and that's all we got D:

Garlemald was a great zone, they perfectly captured the hopelessness of the garleans with this track. Beautiful arrangement mate!
For Garlemald still has her pride! Tremendous job sir!
The night themes this expansion are soooo gooooood
Every single night theme in Endwalker in brilliant, and I was hoping someone would cover this one! I can't get enough of the jazzy intro

This is such a beautiful rendition of a beautiful song
This is such an amazing rendition, I feel more emotion from this than when I walked through Garlemald in game!
