He doesnt have that high standard when its about the things IDF allegedly have done. Then Hamas words is enough.
If you want a glaring example of his selective methods look at how he treated beheading.
He dismissed the idea of people being killed by beheading despite the video. The video shows one beheaded person already dead (so Owen Jones implies we dont know how he died), and one live person being beheaded with an agricultural tool. Jones dismisses the later, because although alive, the man was seriously wounded when beheaded, so might have soon died anyway.
So Jones says "no evidence of deaths by beheadings", carefully chosen words, which gets repeated across social media as "Jones says the video has no evidence of (people killed by) beheadings"
He rightly called out the original claims of 40 beheaded babies.

His point was that Israel is fabricating a narrative in order to demonise the Palestinians.
Atrocities are acknowledged by Owen, unlike in Israel, where the disemboweling of Palestinian children by bombs is met with a shrug. His point is that these exaggerations are intentional and given to garner sympathy from the world while Israel proceeds to kill 10s of 1000s of children in Gaza and while stealing land in the West Bank.

The problem is, feminism - like many other grassroots movements - got corrupted the minute spoiled, upper class academics adopted the cause for their own. They either need things like this to fill a void and gratify themselves (just like people taking part in pro-Hamas protests today) or they use movements as a vehicle to gain & exert power (i.e. the apparatchiks in woke/marxism). That's why these ideologies turn bad; they get taken over by people who don't suffer any of the issues that originally birthed them and who have selfserving agendas. On the other hand, women living under Sharia, like in Afghanistan or Jemen, desperately need a women's rights movement, but the western "feminists" won't touch this problem because #1 they don't want ro risk their necks and #2 they don't really care that much about some oppressed brown people.
But, all this will become irrelevant if Islam manages to conquer or subvert the liberal West, because feminism will be dead then anyway. Just as dead as our individual rights and our justice system and our democracy.

Owen got dupped early on, planted his flag based upon that misinformation, and does not have the 'balls' to admit the horror of his mistake. His ego (and pocket book) is far more valuable to him than morals. As he gets deeper into the hole, it becomes fantastically harder to admit the truth. Strange your position on Russia? You cannot compare the two conflicts.
Russia was defending itself from an encroaching NATO that was arming and training Azov, the same battalion that celebrates Stephen Bandera. It is no secret that Ukraine was being prepped for war with the intention of breaking up Russia. Victoria Nuland made no secret on this and it has been the NATO policy since its inception.
Russia has been the one trying for a peace agreement, and even had one on the table the March immediately after the SMO started, but we, Boris rejected it. With the SMO they rolled in then without firing a shot, unless they were fired upon.
I understand why Putin went in. I don't understand why no peace deal was promoted by NATO/Ukraine.
So I can support what Israel has to do without supporting Ukraine. And like Hamas Ukraine doesn't want peace.

I do support Owen Jones, and I believe he is an excellent journalist. Was expecting a rabid character assassination a la Valliant/Pellegrino but found this to be unexpectedly focused on issues and some valid points were made.

Attempt most are handled via peace courts. Yes the opposition are suppressed , where we see Trump facing legal case after legal case, but no civil war. In Russia the reaction to 2014 coup has destroyed both Russia and Ukraine. Who fermented the coup? Why would NATO and EU want Ukraine and the insurgent east in their club? How many ex-soviet states and satellites are now in NATO or/and EU? I think not only Putin has to take all the blame! Like in the break up Yugoslavia the west chooses the perceived weakest side. If the weakest side is also pro-west , all the better!
