It was about 2 weeks ago but you’ll be just fine!! I live in St George and last I saw there wasn’t any snow plus it’s like 60-70 degrees now so you should be good to go!! 🤩
@@christopher_olson this is third time. One time on warm day. Second time in February just before permits became needed. That day was snow and ice but not deep. Crampons we’re enough.
You guys did an amazing job! The only thing is I wonder what the views look like when it is not snowing so hard. I bet there are some really beautiful winter scenes
I made this hike in August of 2019. Can’t imagine it in the snow. That’s crazy. Don’t let people tell you that it was too reckless tho. If you watch a RUclips video and then assume it must be safe, then you are sorely mistaken you must know that you are getting into ahead of time and have a route, plan and equipment to sustain you on those hike/climbs. If you don’t do your due diligence then you are truly a noob…
@@christopher_olson we hiked the traverse trail. Started at the NW corner (Kolob Canyon) and hiked back to the visitors center near angels landing. Took us all the way around Wildcat canyon, which was my favorite spot. We hiked up angels landing when we arrived there after walking across the entire park over the previous 3 days. Was a great experience. And it was very cool to finish the backpacking trip with such an Iconic point to seal the deal.
I was in Zion on Feb 15th. The snow stopped. But I was there just one day, missed Angels Landing. I watched your whole video, hiking in snow is totally different with sunny season. Wasn't it the first time you hike in Angel's landing? Are you from Utah?@@christopher_olson
@@richardtyson7630 oh nice we were almost there at the same time!! Yeah it was so different! Usually you can see these huge drop offs but you couldn’t see anything then! No it wasn’t the first time I’m from St George so I’ve hiked Angels quite a few times but it was our first time in the snow!
I am from China, I flied half of the planet here. Taking my flight and cost in consideration, my trip was also difficult. But Utah worth it!My dangerous time was in Devil's Garden in Arch. We almost lost the way back in the dark. Totally terrified tho I believe I have a big heart. But when I recall, it was exciting and fun. That's why I am looking for next challenge@@christopher_olson
That’s awesome!!! I need to make it out to Devils Garden is what it sounds like? :D Yeah it’s always fun to look back and see how cool of an adventure it was and how much it pushed you!! Keep me updated on your next big adventure for sure :)
You do realize lots of people do this hike in the winter no? We didn’t see anyone because we started really early but on our way back we saw probably 30 people doing this. With the appropriate gear, this is quite a tame trail. Hence why I vlogged and hiked at the same time. I understand we were dramatic for the video but it’s seriously easy for those of us that do things like this regularly. Go look up other videos on RUclips and you’ll see how popular this is :)
No joke though, did you guess bring emergency survival gear in case something bad happened? Also, did someone know where you were going, and when you were supposed to be back? You two are not professionals, but people watch your channel who may not really know the dangers or how to take proper precautions, including the emergency SOS capability. Please add something along that line in the blurb in the beginning. A few simple precautions may same you, someone you know, or a viewer.
I know this video has more of a relaxed feel to it but that just means we were well prepared for sure :) it only took us about 3 hours to do and I have extensive experience on this hike so we felt like we were sufficiently prepared for this adventure! Yeah I agree and if it wasn’t at a national park under a permit system I would’ve included more information but in order to do the hike you need a permit and rangers check to see if you have permits usually so all of that information will be included if anyone signs up :) I appreciate the comment though I think that’s something important for everyone to think about with stuff like this!!
Awesome video, very nice! That looks fun man, hopefully I can head there sometime, stay safe!
Thanks man!! Yeah it was way fun for sure you definitely gotta get out to Utah 🙏🏼🔥
@@christopher_olson will try to soon!
One of your best videos for sure dang!!
Aye that’s what I’m talking about!! 🙏🏼
Hopefully they keep getting better and better too 🤪
Sick video bro! The music was a nice touch. So glad you had your crampons with you
Thank you thank you I definitely thought I cooked with the music as well 🤪 yeah no kidding I’m so glad they never fell off too 🤣🥹
Don't get me wrong, i liked the music and the video a lot, but the soundtrack reminded me of 2 npc's walking around Skyrim's wilderness.
@@FreakingRandomName HAHAHAHAHAHA at 0:27 or at the very end especially I was actually going for a Skyrim vibe so I’m glad someone else got that 🙏🏼😂
That is really so beautiful...like a picture of pure heaven!!!!!
I know right!! It was one of those moments where you could experience art in real life it was insane :)
Future Darwin Award recipients.
Dang my first award 🥹🥹 nah that was funny you’re probably right 😂😂
Great video! I hope you enjoyed the pizza afterwards!
Thank you!! And let me tell you, the pizza was SO GOOD 🥹🙏🏼
We wanna see the climb down!!
Unfortunately I didn’t film that part :( but you can come with me next year and help me film 🤪🤪🤪
Curious what the date was for your hike? I will be there March 13 and hoping snow free.

Hey will do!! I have some more tame videos coming out soon so that’ll keep me grounded for a sec :)

what's the exact date of the trail?
Feb 8th I believe!! It’s now a LOT warmer in St George/Zion area so I hope we’re done with snow for the season down here

We had some micro spikes that helped a lot :)
The delusion of invulnerability
