- Please understand that THIS IS NOT A PERMANENT FIX, you should update your driver. Also understand that THIS VIDEO APPLIES TO A SPECIFIC SITUATION AND WILL NOT BE ABLE TO FIX EVER ISSUE. I would love to help everyone but sadly, I simply don't have that much time.
If your issue is not this exact one, I recommend going to a forum site like linustechtips.... and post your exact problem, or look online for other videos/forums, screens can go black for many reasons and this is by no means a "fix all".
Again, if I could I would help all of you but I simply don't have all the answers.

For those of you who have asked my advice, I wish I had the time to help you but I am currently in college. Another fix for this would be to go into SafeMode. Shut down your computer completely, hold the F8 key (key may vary depending on make and model) and press the power button. Make sure you continue holding F8 until you see a blue screen. Follow the prompts within windows until you find the command prompt option. Within command prompt, type in "bcdedit /set {default} safeboot network" and hit enter. Turn off the computer and turn it back in. You should now be in safemode and can navigate the desktop to update your driver. Best of luck to you all, I wish I had all the answers but I do not. I am merely a part time nerd

You done a great job but,instead u would use a safe made on your computer,and uninstall(from device manager)the driver that u said to install them all

Much Easier way if you have win 11 is directly use Narrator using the CTRL + Shift+t keys for navigation

For me, I accidentally disable a display adapter ( mine has 2, a RTX 2080 super and intel UHD 770 ) I disable the 770 one and I also get a black screen I do the same like you but doesnt work is there any method?????
You're a legend man! I had a broken HDMI output with a broken screen on my laptop and enabled my video driver (Idk why it was disabled), and my HDMI output now works!
PROTIP: Use navigator by pressing ctrl + windows key + enter
And disable it by repeating the action. Hope this helps people with different windows layouts than the video does :)

Well, this trick didnt work for me. And also, I would recommend enabling narrator while you do it
the shortcut to enable narrator is windows key+control+enter
The basic problem is 1's updated it gets into black screen no matter what version of drivers I install. I have to go to safe mode and uninstall the driver to get back to the desktop screen. Been searching for this fix and could find none

Installing Nvidia quadro 4000 graphics card to my Lenovo desktop [i5 chip, 16gram, new 2t drive]. I do not have the driver disk. Plug in the board,power cable [fan is on] then turn on the pc and there is no output to the monitor at all [the motherboard output works until i plug in the graphics card]. i plugged in a second board/exchange and the same thing. win10 os. --cannot find a fix to make this startup, not even safe mode. the graphics card plugged disables the motherboard all output ports. cannot install the driver first as the Nvidia software detects no video card. chicken/egg...

I get the black screen after logging in most recently after mining crypto for some reason. My GPU temps are fine and it’s making me frustrated. I had to wipe windows last time to get it to work. I may try DDU and see if that works. Why does this happen anyways.I have a nvidia 2070.

Ok so thats two problems, for keyboard and mouse, just try a different keyboard and mouse to see if its the hardware, it could also be a problem with the USB port, broken/not fully in/filled with dust. And for your second issue, depends on whether its no signal (your monitor would say that most likely) or if its a black screen and there is a connection. If its the no signal issue, theres not much I can do, but if its black screen, try this method out, but again, this video is meant specifically for people who updated to the wrong driver and need a fix.
@@liaml7837 in my case is no signal on monitor aftrer update windows 10 may 2020 or 2004. update.. i have another laptop and mouse and keyboard is fully functional same as monitor on the laptop.. thanks for reply 🙂
@@liaml7837 and i so that the motherboard was broken and i ordered another motherboard but the problem was the same.. i have tested with another power supply but always no signal on monitor.. pc is on lights on cpu cooler is speeding but no signal on monitor😢

Matthew Wocke updating the display driver? Hmm, not sure sorry you may have to look somewhere else for that, my best advice to if at all possible get into either safemode or bios and look for a fix, or don’t give it access to Wi-Fi cause it sometimes checks online databases

i did the display scalling strech resolution and then the screen turned black even after i restarted and then i had to go to safe mode to delete to graphics card driver and now if i install the graphics card driver excatly after it installs the dekstop gets stuck and then i whole thing has to be done again

For example, I'm using a separate monitor with my laptop.
The issue is on the second screen not my laptop, so whenever I try and use the shortcuts; it only applies to the laptop.
Galen Irias assuming the problem is an updated driver, you should be able to see the second display in the Device Manager, just update both, because more than one will appear, like this- i.stack.imgur.com/kKUEA.png
Under display adapters, just go through the prompts and update the driver. If it’s not an out of date driver, it could be as simple as hitting WindowsKey+P then selecting either extend or duplicate.

You can enter BIOS setup option and rest the system to the default by using the key combination of Alt-F or F9 if it’s a Dell computer; it worked for me

Liam L I have a problem. Yesterday I upgraded my driver and it worked fine. The next day tho when I went to turn my pc on it had a black screen with my cursor on it. When I investigated a little deeper I saw that my gpu fans were off and it looked like the whole gpu didn’t turn on. I thought this video would fix it but it didn’t seem to work. I thought I just couldn’t see the screen but it never actually got In the home screen.
@@imnotlagging8219 well if you see your cursor I dont think it would be a GPU problem, you should probably turn off your computer and unplug and plug back in the GPS into its slot and also make sure the right cables are plugged in.

hardik velani this does work it’s just the fact that, where it says “move down 5 times” that could be different for different peoples computers, you may have Bluetooth or you may not for example. So do all the steps just try different number 1,2, 3,4... for that part. Also this is assuming display driver is your issue so if it’s not this will not work

You may have to try this a few time cause the screen is black and you wouldnt be able to see. Also, wrong display driver may not be your issue, there are so many things a black screen could mean.

i have a little problem with my screen (it is black after i installed clear the Ryzen's 3 pro 2200g driver).
Also my screen is kinda squared (its not full)
i tried to install 3 version of driver after each using DDU in safe mode but it didn't work.

You'll have to be more specific, waiting when
At the end u said u would have to wait a bit until it works
oh ok, so if you did all the steps, at that point it should start updating to a new display driver, the time usually depends on how fast your computer and internet are, but I would just not touch anything for at least 5 minutes, again this is assuming you did the steps correctly AND that a wrong display driver is YOUR issue

I disabled my intel(r) adaptor, because I had another one there. After that, my screen went black. I think I need to re enable the adaptor. Any way on doing that?
Edit: This helped to get to the Device Manager, but I actually turned it back on by connecting my oculus/meta to my pc and using that as my monitor. Quite funny
