    I was running this saw for about 2 hours at about a 30-50% duty cycle ruclips.net/user/postUgkxfQm1wmg0ItKDLavxj1nXtQY9HP7EF504 and it did a great job. I used the lever for the built in sharpener to clear chip buildup out more than to actually sharpen the chain. It managed to cut some hardwood stumps much larger than it's size without bothering the neighbors with hours of 2 stroke noise.

      It's probably skip chain; skip clears chips way faster & cuts just as fast on a bar that long. So only half as miserable as you might think it would be... it's still a pain to do by hand though!

    • @andrr7156
      @andrr7156 2 года назад +1

      @@danl6634 I love hand sharpening. I don't have an 880 though. But after some practice you can sharpen your saw chain quickly and adjust rakers with ease. Maintaining a saw is like dating a super model lol lots of maintenance.

    • @danl6634
      @danl6634 2 года назад +1

      @@andrr7156 same; the 10 minute touch up is always worth the little bit of effort. My Jonsereds 920 super with a 42" bar with skip chain takes about 15-20 to do a thorough touch- up, but if it's really dull the electric bench sharpener comes out. 135 links takes a good while to grind after a day of dropping 3' oak trees.

    I'd say this tree is anywhere between 150 to 250 years old. What is amazing to me is that there is no rot at all. .ussualy oaks have rotten centers from. Maybe a broken branch leaving a place for rain water to sit and over time rot itsbway down to the base of the tree . Awesome for table tops.

    For anyone who is wondering why they are cutting down this oak tree, this oak tree already had its last breath and is a dead tree. Cutting down an old, dead tree in necessary for the younger trees to thrive. Being able to use the oak wood from that dead oak is not only profitable for the wood yard, but it's also better for the environment and not letting the wood go to waste.

    MS880 is a slower rpm saw than the smaller MS462 and MS500 but you can hear it grunting with more torque through all that wood.

      Popeye would have punched them into boards and wooden pegs and into a house in one punch! I will say though, Chuck Norris can unscramble eggs, make a slinky go up stairs, and make a polygraph machine tell the truth. A priest, a rabbi, and a minister all walk into a bar. Chuck Norris roundhouse kicks them all in the face because he already knows the joke isn't going to be funny enough.
