As a Brit, I still say Fred Dibnah demolished chimneys the best way! But hats off to these guys and amazing to see some coverage over here, thanks! I always wandered what was going on!
Yeah I have to turn it down during ads and then back up during the vid. Had been like this for a couple vids now. Still great content just volumes aren’t balanced
This came up on my recommended, I pass by that power station most days on my way to work, I filmed it's final days or running. great to see what those towers look like from the inside.
When at college about thirty years ago, i had a visit to Eggborough power station (on the M62 England), the boilers were hanging from the roof, so expanded downwards as they got to temperature, they took us to the top of the boilerhouse, the lift doors open and you are about to step out and you see that all the floors are lattice so they can take them up for moving stuff around in there, and that first step is difficult you can see all the way to the bottom, great visit, all these stations have been repurposed to "biofuels" or are being demolished, never thought i would see the day.
Just a clarification: the water that spins turbines is not the same that is in this tower, it has high requirements on its quality. And this must be converted from steam back to liquid form. So it goes through condenser. And cooling towers cools the water which cools condenser.
...and therefore should be easy to keep running or reuse... yes/no... ??... pancaking reliables for unreliable stuff that get blown away with a puff of wind....north wales ring any bells..??...
I noticed in a couple of the explosion videos it was raining. Is that just because of the climate in the area? Or are they required to wait for a rain day for dust control?
sad to see it go along with the 3 others that was around doncaster cottam, eggborough & ferrybridge this leaves drax the only remainder & its only a matter of time before that one goes aswell
Outstanding video 👏🏻👏🏻😍 the demo of it is soo cool.... I hope you'll be back for the 💥 🤞🏻 but can we spare a thought for the engineering marvel for the ALL the people building these these like..... back in the day when labour was actually physically labour like 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼 it's 🤯🤯🤷🏻♂️
I worked at quite a few power stations in the UK. And it is the single most stupid thing our government has done, to knock them all down of them. They will live to regret this.
This Country is going to be in sooooooo much trouble in the next 5 years. We used to have 26 of these powers stations, we now have 6, all deleted by suits who haven't got a clue about real life. And that's without 'capping and abandoning' our gas and oil wells in the north Sea. RIP UK.
Така сама робота доведеться робити із зруйнованими електростанціями в Україні які постраждали від російкив обстрілів ракетами🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬. Потрібно буде розбирати завали і будувати по новому
Hey UK, you are so noble going green...............now, how are you going to provide enough electricity to charge all of those batteries you are turning too? Batteries "store" power, not make it. what a woke joke.
The UK government is full of globalists unfortunately, we need a d.o.g.e desperately they litterally spend billions of pounds and leave us worse off then they will heavily subsidise some useless eco nonsense
Nothing woke about this. This power station has reached the end of its design life and is no longer economical to keep running. National Grid will have already decided the new power source(s) to replace it.
Maybe look again at the confines in which they are working. Then consider the wear and tear and the exceptionally aggressive environment in which they are working. Then think about the cost of tracks versus solid wheels. And then, for good measure, understand that some people know exactly what they are doing and actually do it = ) Lets not forget the the Brits have been doing "industry" since before pretty much everybody ever... = )

I remember this plant being built along with 3 others along the river Trent in the 60s the stupid government we have at the moment will live to regret this
It's not just the current Government though, is it? The closure of this powerplant was scheduled before it ever produced a single Watt of power. That's called design life. What's settled stupid is selling off national infrastructure to companies who value the quarterly balance sheet over long term vision. Profits given to shareholders rather than invested in the future business, research and development and building new plant.

Yea Fred was a pretty cool guy
The destruction of those power plants is sending you people right back to the stone ages.
Is there something wrong with the volume?
Yep it's pretty soft in some parts and loud in other parts.
I say this every video. Video editing is great but the audio is terrible.

great to see what those towers look like from the inside.
thanks for watching
Love that you take world tours 🤩

First job when I left school, working for Brownies from Broadstairs in Kent
Need to come to chicago and see some of our demo companys
Not one person thought that was welding, Aaron.
Which are you condoning... Reliables or Renewables..??...
I have videos from on site when part of cottam blew roughly a year ago
i cant choose the original audio, only autotranslate is offered?
Demolishing power plants and other industrial facilities is not an easy thing, just like building them.
...and therefore should be easy to keep running or reuse... yes/no... ??... pancaking reliables for unreliable stuff that get blown away with a puff of wind....north wales ring any bells..??...
It just seems such a waste. The investment to build. Probably could have had many a year remaining. Shame about the coal.

Nuclear? Offshore wind? Solar? Natural Gas? No offense but a lot of people much smarter than you have thought about this before deciding to do it

I hate audiotrack, first of all I want to see an English video with English sounds 2. Why tf is he synchronised by a woman
Going to take a whole lot of solar pannels and wind mills to replace that power output. What a shame.
Good job solar and wind are cheap
The sad thing there is one getting built in tilbury and there taking down till one
I guess they wont need that power production anymore
Good observation

It's not long had some stuff built either. The firm i work for did some work in there about 15 years ago
