Because of the two ‘files’ that are put into the autostart. Firstly, they are files, NOT exes, they do not in themselves collect data from your PC or anything else. The first is a UUID (user id) and the other is a tracker of how often you have started the game (why this is no idea). That these two files are pushed into the autostart is a programming error that should not happen, but people make mistakes. I think this will be fixed at some point. You can disable both files in the autostart, you can even delete them somewhere in the regedit and the game still seems to run. As for the TOS. If people had read it properly or informed themselves, they would know that many of the things that are requested are region-specific. In China, for example, it's normal to have to leave your ID card in order to play MMOS (or somewhere else, another youtuber talked about it, but I can't remember who). The TOS is about data that you have to provide because the law says so, not that you HAVE to do it because they collect your data. EDIT: Some more information related to the autostart files It looks like these files belong to a “mobile marketing” company called AppsFlyer. The exact files that are in the autostart are called: AF_counter_2139460, Value: 1 (Counts how often you did start Once human) AF_uuid_2139460, value: (is your UUID aka User ID) 2139460 is the steam app id of Once Human. Does two Files are normally used in Handygames, and did end up on the PC version also. There are a few Guides out there, how and where you can disable does two FIles completly but overall they dont do any harm.

The goverment issued ID is specific for China, because you need to give them your id when you play a live service game for some weird reasons. They dont wanna play you all the time and stuff. The files do not even exist on your device anymore after the game finished installing. (So they're technically not even files, but they're supposed to be executables though) It registered themselves as a startup program, presumably by mistake, but there's no execution files that were supposed to be executed. That, or they delete themselves after the installation is finish and the setup is making a cleanup. I looked everywhere for it and found nothing. Only the register that tell its name and where to execute the nonexistent program. I don't know if others managed to find the actual file. However, I have dealt with very malwares where they can delete themselves every time it detects process viewer and reconstruct themselves back from registry batch execution before. They were used for crypto mining (ofc) and very sneaky, but this is not it.
Servers being full is still an issue, there’s a “registration limit”. Even though my server has a low population the game doesn’t allow any of my friends to make a character on that server
I think the population stat is bugged bc all worlds just stay mostly in low, and hey, even world of warcraft with a monthly subscription has some full servers, give this game some time (and money) xd

I keep voice chat off personally cuz I tend to forget to turn my mic off. but during a prime war, we communicated to each other by teabagging the ground and quick weapon swapping when we were victorious. and I think that's beautiful XD

The worst sin they could do is timegate people in a server without the possibility to change server without loosing progress or invite friends once the server is full (despite not getting rid of inactive players/houses). Since I Joined like 4 days later I literally cannot play with my friends without forcing them to start all over again, since I cannot join the same server. This is beyond ludicrous and a hard no. Accessibility to play with friends should be imperative and the number one priority when making an MMO. This is unforgivable, for being able to play with friends is the true thing that matters in a MULTIPLAYER ONLINE GAME
eh I just treat it like survival game and Is Survival game first with MMO on it like 7days to die where my character is saved in a server so once we're done with that server ig we just make a new one again after awhile so start from the beginning but at least here I keep some stuff
Nice video dude. Didn't know about the house blueprint materials thing but also worth noting if you're in a Hive with someone and they give you territory build rights you can go to their base and save their blueprint then use as your own. There are also apparently pre-fabs in there somewhere but I haven't really looked. Also, this game is bat-s&&t crazy - never mind the walking buses, the walking house, the enemies with a deadly lamp for a head or the crazy looking bosses but the random stuff I keep finding is mad: those walking crates, some cultists praying in a river that give you a treasure map, the telephone box puzzle that's only active at night, the camera's on tripods that open a crate with a weapon accessory like a grip or a sight or the broken signs that do the same, the giant disco ball event, a floating hand-fruit-thing that also gives you a crate when you shoot it or the giant lucky cat I found in a random shed somewhere that gave me a token and told me to find the other 2...........................the list goes on of genuine little surprises littered throughout this game. Then there's the weight mechanic, using the water pump to pull up oil in certain places that you can then turn into fuel or pull out polluted water in other places which is used for............well something I haven't worked out yet. Like yourself I am really enjoying this game.

The 6 week season is a big deal. It might not be a big deal for gamers but for people that don't get a ton of time to play it is. I know for a fact that I am about to be unable to play for a week coming up. I really like the game but I hate the idea that I already know I can not finish the content before it changes. It crushes my motivation to invest time.
You forgot the most important thing to notice, the game just released and the current season we're playing on their servers is labeled as "Novice", which basically mean this is done on purpose, and if I'm not mistaking, devs themself said this can be extended in the future, this is the first season of the game, so it's probably short to be able to get some feedback and then later create longer season in a "non-novice state" !
Personally, I think people are being overly hysterical about the seasonal wipes. If you miss a week, you can still do all of the previous weeks' seasonal goals. The only thing you would really miss out on is the weekly cap for cortex conversion if you can't can't spare 10 min to do it for the entire week. You miss out on some starchrom; that's it. The game isn't that grindy compared to other survival games and you keep the most important things: blueprints, mods, and special currencies. You can even blueprint your entire base, so you can easily plop it down next season. Stardust and acid are the grindiest season-exclusive resources in the game. However, if you don't have time to play a lot, then you probably aren't going to amass a big stockpile of those anyway. The game throws a ton at you at the beginning of the season, so it's a complete non-issue. Frankly, I think it's a good thing that those reset, since they end up being used as the main source of currency in the player economy, which is better for players with less time to play, because it mitigates inflation in the long run.
Well there's two things about this, since this is a pretty big concern for a lot of players. The first thing is, just from my personal opinion, this IS a survival game. A majority of the fun of the game comes from starting over from scratch and grinding through over and over again, trying to be more consistent each wipe. This isn't a single player game or an RPG where your goal is to get 100% completion, in fact, if you did complete all of the games content, you'd be bored of it. There's no point in running around in any survival game with broken items, an impossible to raid base, and all of its content completed, there'd be no fun left. So, personally, I'd say that you're maybe just going about it wrong. I'm only 30 hours into this game and already looking forward to the wipe, and I've already restarted once. Now I totally understand that your fun may be different from my fun, and I get that. But the second thing that you should know is that there is a solution. Once you get to level 20 in game, you can do some optional quests to unlock a mode called "Eternaland" which is basically a server that does not wipe. You can play to your hearts content and never lose any progress, it's permanent. Just offering a different perspective and a solution. But I hope that you're enjoying the game still, and safe travels.
I just started playing Once human the other night and you were the first to give me more reasons on why I SHOULD stay in game and play it. Not only did you earn my sub here but because of you I have decided to actually play this game for the fun of it and see where it goes. I personally am excited to see what the world of once human becomes.
This is the thing with games these days, alot of people look at the reviews and see one negative and are like "Nah im good". Like considering this game is free to play theres no harm in giving it a go, steam even has a refund system so if a game requires payment u can just simply refund after u try it and u dont like it. Starfield was a great example of this, people were shitting on it before it was even released just cuz of the "Small maps" but once i played and explored planets to get my 100% completion done, i never had issues with running out of map space to explore.

I dropped a negative review on the game, and deleted it as soon as I realized how wrong I was. This game is amazing and everyone has to try it, especially if you have that one friend who likes survival games with missions or story. I have never felt so excited to log in the next day and go to my house again and progress more.
Commenting for the algorithm! I totally agree in what you’re saying, people hear about the wipe and don’t even bother understanding the mechanics of it. Next season you will be able to bring some items from last season with you, that means strong weapon and armor and you will rush through the early game content, we don’t know what we’re gonna be able to take with us but potentially you could even bring your chainsaw and electric drill with you, if that’s not a possibility, you will already have your digbys and logging beaver thus maximizing your farm from the very beginning. Oh, and quests you already did will have a shortened version next season, i think they thought it well, can’t wait to see the wipe in action
Touching on the social aspect, they are numerous whispers or messages left behind by other players all around the world especially near dungeon entrances, puzzle areas, chest and loot areas. Saved me so much time by just reading the advice of others who have experienced what you are about to do. There's also random comments but that just adds to the game.
Game just incredible, every town are different it's full of ambient sounds, in forest you hear singing birds, animals which wandering around, in swamps area there running rivers sound, birds etc. Also there atmosphere just on another level, some of side quests made as storyline quest in other games. When i was playing and when i head to Arachna and was her presentation before fight oh my gosh those atmosphere in hospital, her singing and then boo her transformation my gf was near and watch with me oh she with screams ran out room) I hope that with devs be everything good and game be in good spot. For now there playing every day around 180k, i think it's can call a success.
Two biggest gripes i have with this game are - building snapping, it seems like pieces snap bot to a side of the closest building block, but to it's corner, maybe not, BUT - building a roof is VERY frustratig. Second is vehicle staversal - it's dun for the most part untill you go from a 100 to 0 in a split second and deadstop because the was some random small junk on the road, and i mean small like at best a few mm tall allaround. Aside from that this game is good and fun! Maybe there is a lot going on the menus, like a lot of tabs and stuff, but then again there is a lot of features and somehow menus don't feel cluttered.
Low spec gamer here. Tried this game and found it pretty awesome and it ran decently on my UHD 730. Quit the game after meeting Mistuko to try and squeeze a little bit more FPS out of it, and upon trying to run it again, I got, "Integrated graphics card not supported." Still sad about it🤧.
I actually didn’t know this was a new channel until the very end when you started talking about your enjoyment for content creation. I’d say keep at it because this felt well made and still light hearted and funny while getting the point across greatly in my opinion, I’d love to see you grow and maybe I’ll find inspiration for things I’d like to do (currently brainstorming ideas for a first video)

Friend made me aware of this game. He had been playing in closed beta and seeing the video of it, although it was cinematic and not really actual gameplay. I was pretty excited and when the game launched we started playing together. I had godawful input lag and performance. No matter what setting I put it seemed to be locked to 30 FPS and floaty movement lagging made me nauseous. That was day one. It eased off a bit and lag did hit less, mostly in boss areas or busy towns. As of now, lag is still there but it's not a big problem currently. Game has been so much fun my vacation was spent over 115 hours in the game. There's a few problems I want changed but nothing big, it's worth the battle pass for few decent cosmetics. I'm not too worried about the extremely short season but think it should be longer. I'm not fully convinced the wipe won't feel like I've lost something. But there's so much fun I can also recommend. Chat has been friendly and helpful. I dislike the randomness of specializations, not getting precious metals for gold and silver or combo chip, you really have to do so much but effort to get energy links. Biggest problems it's the numerous different type menus for quests, tasks, journey, season, battle pass and the other reward giving things. They should be easier to find in one place, not all over clicking the yellow notices. Love fishing and farming and pokemon gathering. Guns feel good, building with hive and warband is social and easy, although building pieces snapping together it's horrendous.
i deleted thrist decendant because of this game. i love the build progression in this game and the fact that i can from upgrade materials without have to deal with a bullshit drop chance
“Thirst Descendant” actually made me laugh. I agree though! I don’t mind grinding for a god roll in something like Diablo or Borderlands, but grinding for a material and a god roll are two very different things.
My only complaint/worry is that there isn't too much to do. You can wander and do side quests but none are unique enough to come back to lin later seasons. I like this game tho it has pretty solid foundation so far.
*saves house* and then realizes you have to regrind everything you lost to get that house back including everything that requires a bench so you are forced to build a starter house still just to rebuild the old one that got wiped which will get old every 6 weeks. *(Lets also including any electric items you built when you saved the house because all things crafted "work bench" and etc you'll have to grind that again which requires a base to place a furnace to build the materials)* so if you built a house that would require any special builds/materials then have fun grinding 5+ hours getting all that with a basic foundation and thats if you don't have a busy life because it might take longer that way since you might need a steel axe for some of the materials you built just to mine what you need.
Try making a base that’s empty, that way it saves the entire structure and not the electronics or workbenches. Then once it’s saved add the electronics and workbenches back and saved it as a different blueprint. This should help. U can also save single parts and not all of a build

The main issue isn't that that you will have to grind the materials again to remake your house. But the fact that you will have to re-discover the same island, POI, teleportation marks, sidequests. I personally dont care about the materials or the housing system, I just dont want to have to go again through the same POIs, markers, teleportations every 6 weeks.
@@darthchilde8880 The fact that you believe that they can just make a new story every 2 months makes me sad for you, fr. There's actually another rumor that states there are 3 continents and it will rotate between them each 6 weeks, but nobody ever seen the other 2. It took them years to get to this point(even with the marketplace assets that technically should've redouced the load by a lot), where not even 5% of the cutscenes are voiced, or correctly displayed or syncronized, but that is just the icing on the turd. Also, even if its the case, it still doesnt change the fact that the reset will delete all your exploration progress, teleportation, POI, everything. A new story wont make you feel better about re-re-re-re-descovering the same places.
@@brosquito7483 well producing content isnt that hard considering some games alredy do it including warframe ,genshin, also many survival games alredy do it so its not out of norm, inventory management is really good in game so its never about recources or building bases, ppl are genuinely enjoying the game and we will have to wait and see how the players feel after the reset cuz knowing something and experiencing it is completely diffrient things.
I love that you mentioned community. So far everyone I met are super friendly (i do play in PVE so that might be part of the reason) and I love little messages me and my in game neighbours leave to each other from time to time with small jokes like heyyyy sorry was making a cake borrowed some sugar. Its simple little things that create nice friendly enviroment 😁
I was a little apprehensive at the 6 week window. Then I realised that the progress I had made over 20 hours as a noob could be made again by me in about an hour or so on a new character. Now I'm not worried about the 6 week window.
I’m enjoying the hell out of it and typically won’t give survival games a chance. Thankfully, my friend challenged me to try it anyhow and I haven’t looked back. Heck, I even dropped some money in it this morning to buy some cosmetics.
I agree, I've sank way too many hours into the game, it's addicting. Biggest issue I have is probably the lags. In most Prime Wars once they start its getting so laggy, I can barely switch weapon or shoot.
Can't forget the launch either that got OH so review bombed because A) Small studio B) Not biggest server funding c) So much traffic on first hour. Another review bomb because the devs figured to put one character per account limit for the first month, this review bombing was so harsh they allowed one character per server. Still, that got some negative reviews too. More negative reviews because some real life NPCs couldn't figure out how to edit their character's appearance. (Protip: Build a mirror)
Just my 2 cents, but I've played the game for almost a week and a half now, and I've got 70+ hours combined, at endgame, build semi-optimized, memetics maxed, waiting for my phase 2 to kick in to farm legendary mods. I play games daily, all kinds of games, hard-core gamer here, I can't put this one down. AND ITS FREE LOL
Game crashes frequently, varying between 5 and 30 minutes. Other than that I don't really have a complaint. Maybe the fact that F key is the same as reading whispers, which is annoying sometimes, since whispers are everywhere.
I struggled to get enough resources before the chainsaw and electric drill, and suddenly I had 20k wood that I had no use of, I had to stop grinding some stuff because it clogged up my chests.. I rebuilt my whole house and got an Iron overflow for my ammunition which I used to struggle with. I had an amazing time while leveling up but I wasted soooo much time because I had no clue about how good some upgrades would be. Even the car is awesome, you can drive it out in to nowhere with ammo and a repair station+materials and just farm, farm, farm till the storage chest with 32-62 slots are full, I got the upgrade for 64 slot chests because it was a little messy. It will be fast to restart and come back to where I am today, all blueprints and important account bound resources will be with you in the next season, you just need to farm a little. I am currently rocking the surge shotgun and it is MAD but I really want to try the little SMG with surge and I will probably get that one next season, or a gold sniper. This game is super user friendly as of right now and I have no belief in that the creators of this game would make something as stupid as to make everyone just lose all their time with every season, they will add more stuff to do and hopefully change what happens on the map with every season.
I agree, also I'm kinda excited for the wipe. With survival games I get bored eventually, everything I need is built, I'm confident I can conquer most threats. Not much or any map left to discover. To me the fun of a survival game is discovering the "oh shit how am I going to survive this", once that feeling goes away I'm like hmm guess I'm done. Hopefully the 6 week wipes keep it going. If it is at least new maps to explore every 6 weeks I'm good. As far as Battle passes and the store really I always just ignored them. this is a game were you can 100% go and do fine without buying anything.
I’m at 160 hours and I’m absolutely loving the game. The wipe is unfortunate to me only because of how short it is, 3 months would be perfect to me but ultimately I have no idea what’s coming in the next season so I’m still hyped. If the content is there then I think it’ll be fine as I’m just working on finishing my shrapnel build with all the blueprints. I do worry about casual players though because they won’t be able to get into the game at all as they don’t have enough time to get even close to end game. The only other issues I have is first acid is too difficult to get from drops for how important it is. It’s the only resource that there never seems to be enough of till late end game when you do workshops/silos and stuff. Next, starchrom is too hard to get. I have so many builds that I want to do yet I have to stick to one per season because I’m maxed out and I’ve done everything. I just feel like there needs to be more ways to get it is all. Finally the cosmetics are trash/overpriced, and to get the coolest building stuff in the game making straight glass houses you have to spend 30$. I don’t mind it costing money but it should be 10-15$ max in my opinion. These are just my negatives but again I am absolutely loving tf out of this game. One of the best I’ve ever played and it’s only just the beginning. The devs are very responsive to the community so everything will be hashed out in no time. Crazy that it’s coming to mobile, my initial thoughts on the game were that it feels like a mobile game but after playing for a while I’m more than happy to take that back. Also, as someone whose playing on an ultra wide I do wish the performance was better, I have to go down 2 resolutions and put the render scale at 80% with all low settings so that my cpu/gpu doesn’t get too hot. Watching videos on it people are able to play with such beautiful settings so it’s a shame what I’m missing out on. I don’t even have bad specs either with an rtx 2080, i7-9700k, 32g of ram. Could be better of course but they aren’t outdated by any means.
I'm disabled, and normally miss out on good games. I am really glad I got to start this sooner than later. Wish people would give it a try. It's not PalWorld or Rust. The game is it's own this with elements from those, along with Helldivers team feel for PVE, and other games as well. But that's what makes a good game. Pieces that are put together in a way that tell a New & More Appealing manner. I don't understand... The game literally gave exactly what people Wanted in a Game. Yet, they hate it?! So dummy...

A problem with the review system, is when issues get resolved quickly by the developer but the reviews do not reflect the current state, they linger around waiting to be shifted by more positive reviews (hopefully). I've spent allot of time in this game and its good...when the reset occurs (and I'm curious as to if thats even going to happen given the surveys the developer has sent me...I'm wondering if they are second guessing that mechanic)...that will be the real determining factor if players are going to stay.... but its free, play it out..then uninstall and you will get plenty of entertainment for your time.
The wipe is just a light wipe You keep almost everything apart from resources and level You can also take things with you into the next season like Deviants or even rare items like silver gold and so on to the 2 files You can simply delete them, neither are important for the game Sever full At the end of the season you can also migrate to other servers Shop In the game you can only buy optical items for the character and base for real money Here you actually don't get any advantage with real money except that the base might look nicer in the end
Also, they said the seasons might last longer the more the game is out On the side note, the only shit I don-t like about the game is the building system, because it kinda forces u to build in a certain way, and it's so hard to get certain building done when u want to do it differently lol
Netease's terrible track record aside. I don't have problem with seasonal reset. Most of the progress you've made are kept. And I agree that resources are so easy to get that I now have more than a stack of 1000 of each (except for stardust resource and acid). And with blueprint, while a bit janky to place, I think it's more than enough to quickly get back to where you were before reset. On that note: House blueprint and base relocation is the best base building mechanics I'd love for every base building game to have. If you love to build houses and don't want to lose it, you have Ethernaland as well. If this game snapping point indication and support piece calculation is decent, I would love it even more. (I love snapping indication and support calculation like in Icarus the most from recent games)
There's a lot that need polishing but for a free game, It's a good game. I bought their battle pass just out of respect. The lag when doing public event such as prime war though. That's horrible and need to be fixed fast.

So I am known by my friends for not putting up with invasive anti cheat and there has been games they have gifted me and I download them, launch them and as soon as the window pops up stating they need access blah blah blah I instantly uninstall and refund. I’ve literally been cussed out by friends for this. My point …this game is so fun I made an exception and as far as wipes I’m gonna see what happens the first wipe and go from there …it’s a free game there is nothing to loose but time
The only thing I hate about this game is the wipes even if you save the important items but still have to grind all of those other items back wasting hours upon hours of your life
It sit at mostly positive now, which is right. Its a fun game. Then again its netease. The dev said it clearly they will not add any pay to win element into the game, but the publishers usually would remove people if they wont comply.
I got bored when reaching level 50 with main quest. Other than that beside prime war there isn't much to do. Welp, i guess ill just go play a different game until the wipe and see how it goes. Goodluck everyone!
My base is broken, 9 hrs into the game and suddenly I cant move my territory, access my benches, storage box, anything. Im basically soft locked out of TIME SENSITIVE content. So yeah, they earned my negative review for that one.

I still can't be arsed with this game. No game should force me to play continually to avoid a progress wipe, even if it is partial. A "huge" world map and a six week time limit is super offputting combination. And for the love of god where the hell did the pokemon come from? The early trailers made this seem like a serious zombie apocalypse/eldritch horror game.
It should be noted apparently the world as far as I could find out is split into 3 sections, and next season (or maybe theyll ride out the pass duration idk) we should be getting the northern end of the map. Ive already seen a ski resort building already prepared on the eastern end.
My issue with the game is the performance. I have played Cyberpunk 2077 at Ultra Graphics but I can barely play this on medium. When I get to a new area, I got to wait 2-3 minutes for the server to render everything, which sometimes leaves enemies invisible or just guns and lights floating in the air. Until that gets fixed, this game is a no.
Bruh I've reach lvl 50 and maxed out my tier 5 gear calibrations in just two phases... So 6 week wipe is no problem for me because the game is getting a bit repetitive only because the npc AI is not challenging at all, what we lack is fear to go visit any stronghold that we had in the best mmorpg called durango... Where the challenge it posed was just perfect, it was also a survival mmo just like this game and unique like this one, if you compare them both they're like toe to toe on par but durango still comes out when talking about the challenge we face... So i guess the devs need to make the game more scary and getting a new map and new scenario and new stuff blueprints etc every new season is just loving, we will never get bored, wipe doesn't affect much...
The server full issue; They kicked a lot of botters, exploiters, and hackers as well as increasing the overall server size for every server, as well as adding servers.
an oceanic server would be nice, playing on a pvp server as an aussie its near impossible to kill other players due to high ping and if your ping goes over 300 u get kicked from the server

Basically if there is content, then i'm going to do it until i got all the rewards for doing it (or at least try). What makes me much less insentivised to play the game, is the fact that I only have soo many hours a day i can play games and there is no way i'm doing everything in 6 weeks. Even PoE, Or even Rust have servers with less wipes.

Honestly I enjoy the game for now and I will see how the game feels with the wipes. I just wish they weren't 6 weeks because I don't see it going well for either players or devs it is just too short. But the server problem still exists. My girlfriend and I needed like 10 minutes to find a server to join together and we started at the same time. If my best friend decides to join there is no way we will ever play together.
Ngl, I was so upset after hearing the reset that I was going to quit the game and leave a bad review. I am, however, too addicted so I keep playing and can't deny how much I love it regardless of my original thoughts. I will probably be leaving a good review AND money dumping for skins lol
the only problem is that after reaching lvl 50 and if your server is only on week 2 there is nothing to do if you already did side quests and just dont want to grind resources :(
I never gave a fuck about overall steam ratings. Since many people dislike a game based on something, I don't give a fuck about. It reminds me of the quote on democracy by Socrates: "Democracy is only as good as the education that surrounds it." Applied to this topic, an uneducated or inexperienced player may hate a certain feature and doesn't know the true purpose of it or flat out judges a game, based on false facts, like the very first one.
Game itself isnt bad. Played it for about 17 hours so far but those wipes every 6 weeks kind of breaks the deal. I dont have that much time to play anymore so i dont want to have my progress reset every 6 weeks. Having to level over and over again is gonna be pain. Im rather gonna play something where i can keep my progress and it doesnt matter how long it takes me to finish it. Reset every 6 weeks basically plays on FOMO and im not willing to participate in that but if you are, good for you and enjoy the game.

Tbh, I subbed as soon as I saw the Sleep Token shirt. I don't even care what content you make at that point, fucking sick shirt dude. But honestly, I was just talking to my little brother a couple weeks ago about how I wish that there was a GOOD free to play survival game. The only ones on Steam that I could find before this was Muck, which I personally didn't like, or Unturned, which has a horrible multiplayer experience if you're trying to play with friends. And then I found this gem of a game. It's got all of the elements from some of my favorite games of all time, Dark Souls, New World, Rust, Remnant 2, and Palworld. If you stuck all of those games into a blender, you'd get Once Human. And I'm loving every second of it and cannot wait to see how much further the dev team pushes the envelope with this game. Compared to other free games on Steam right now, I just don't see any contest. I would rather play this than Rust, Minecraft, Palworld, or any other top notch, well known survival game, AND IT'S FREE. I could go on and on, I can't praise this game enough. Imo, game of the year. And you hit the nail on the head with everything you debated with the reviews.
Once Human has TWO MAIN PROBLEMS when it really comes down to it. Boil everything down, and these are the ROOT CAUSE of all the angst. 1.) MISCOMMUNICATION / ASSUMPTIONS: Folks aren't aware of all the facts, and drawing some pretty incredible assumptions. Think of it like an MMO "Roguelike" with elements of p[rogression, and it becomes much more palatable, and YES completely agree: farming resources is laughably easy. Ore is literally EVERYWHERE. Folks are getting SUPER carried away. 2.) CONVOLUTED USER INTERFACE: The amount of time it took for me to become comfortable with all the game "currencies" and sub-menus was excessive--MUCH MORE than any other game I've played (well, that's not true; Warframe was pretty bad, too). This is why some things like the "Blueprints" for keeping your house are so critical for correcting expectations. ...The point is, Once Human needs to do a better job of setting expectations and making the UI more intuitive.
Finally someone to explain what are these 2 startup files. I was quite hesitant to play it after reading the reviews that say weird files appeared in startup.
The files do not even exist on your device anymore after the game finished installing. It registered themselves as a startup program, presumably by mistake, but there's no execution files that were supposed to be executed. That, or they delete themselves after the installation is finish and the setup is making a cleanup. I looked everywhere for it and found nothing. Only the register that tell its name (AF_uuid_2139460 and AF_counter_2139460) and where to execute nonexistent program. I don't know if others managed to find the actual file. However, I have dealt with very nasty trojans and spyware where they can delete themselves every time it detects process viewer and construct themselves back from registry batch execution before. They were used for crypto mine (ofc) and very sneaky, but this is not it. My speculation is This game is Chinese's, so their games are required by law to track the user device id and how often they play since games are considered an addiction that needs to be monitored in their country (or whatever excuse they use). But these files probably used on their mobile version of the game, maybe it got on to pc games by mistake.

Me and my bf play as well and we've sank about 135 hours into it and I absolutely love it. Am I nervous about the Seasons changing...yes...but I've been thinking as you said as long as my house is able to be rebuilt I believe I can manage the rest. The game is great. Spent a stupid amount time in it. My only real complaint (other than needing to connect to a new server to play with friends due to limitations) is the PW's. They get real bad lag, and it honestly kills my mood to even attempt them. Spending a ton of resources just to miss a cannon shot because it shoots 2 minutes later. Or trying to dp the boss, and you reload 20x to shoot 5 shots to reload again. Seeing everyone running in place and complaining about everything from building, or simply shooting the boss to "compensate" for the lag. People being bothered by multiple AR users, recommending a completely different build like a sniper build to reduce lag. After season reset, I kinda lost interest.
Because of the two ‘files’ that are put into the autostart. Firstly, they are files, NOT exes, they do not in themselves collect data from your PC or anything else. The first is a UUID (user id) and the other is a tracker of how often you have started the game (why this is no idea). That these two files are pushed into the autostart is a programming error that should not happen, but people make mistakes. I think this will be fixed at some point. You can disable both files in the autostart, you can even delete them somewhere in the regedit and the game still seems to run.
As for the TOS. If people had read it properly or informed themselves, they would know that many of the things that are requested are region-specific. In China, for example, it's normal to have to leave your ID card in order to play MMOS (or somewhere else, another youtuber talked about it, but I can't remember who). The TOS is about data that you have to provide because the law says so, not that you HAVE to do it because they collect your data.

It looks like these files belong to a “mobile marketing” company called AppsFlyer. The exact files that are in the autostart are called:
AF_counter_2139460, Value: 1 (Counts how often you did start Once human)
AF_uuid_2139460, value: (is your UUID aka User ID)
2139460 is the steam app id of Once Human.
Does two Files are normally used in Handygames, and did end up on the PC version also.
There are a few Guides out there, how and where you can disable does two FIles completly but overall they dont do any harm.

Servers being full is still an issue, there’s a “registration limit”. Even though my server has a low population the game doesn’t allow any of my friends to make a character on that server
I think the population stat is bugged bc all worlds just stay mostly in low, and hey, even world of warcraft with a monthly subscription has some full servers, give this game some time (and money) xd

The worst sin they could do is timegate people in a server without the possibility to change server without loosing progress or invite friends once the server is full (despite not getting rid of inactive players/houses).
Since I Joined like 4 days later I literally cannot play with my friends without forcing them to start all over again, since I cannot join the same server. This is beyond ludicrous and a hard no. Accessibility to play with friends should be imperative and the number one priority when making an MMO. This is unforgivable, for being able to play with friends is the true thing that matters in a MULTIPLAYER ONLINE GAME

Nice video dude. Didn't know about the house blueprint materials thing but also worth noting if you're in a Hive with someone and they give you territory build rights you can go to their base and save their blueprint then use as your own. There are also apparently pre-fabs in there somewhere but I haven't really looked.
Also, this game is bat-s&&t crazy - never mind the walking buses, the walking house, the enemies with a deadly lamp for a head or the crazy looking bosses but the random stuff I keep finding is mad: those walking crates, some cultists praying in a river that give you a treasure map, the telephone box puzzle that's only active at night, the camera's on tripods that open a crate with a weapon accessory like a grip or a sight or the broken signs that do the same, the giant disco ball event, a floating hand-fruit-thing that also gives you a crate when you shoot it or the giant lucky cat I found in a random shed somewhere that gave me a token and told me to find the other 2...........................the list goes on of genuine little surprises littered throughout this game.
Then there's the weight mechanic, using the water pump to pull up oil in certain places that you can then turn into fuel or pull out polluted water in other places which is used for............well something I haven't worked out yet.

The 6 week season is a big deal. It might not be a big deal for gamers but for people that don't get a ton of time to play it is. I know for a fact that I am about to be unable to play for a week coming up. I really like the game but I hate the idea that I already know I can not finish the content before it changes. It crushes my motivation to invest time.
You forgot the most important thing to notice, the game just released and the current season we're playing on their servers is labeled as "Novice", which basically mean this is done on purpose, and if I'm not mistaking, devs themself said this can be extended in the future, this is the first season of the game, so it's probably short to be able to get some feedback and then later create longer season in a "non-novice state" !

Personally, I think people are being overly hysterical about the seasonal wipes. If you miss a week, you can still do all of the previous weeks' seasonal goals. The only thing you would really miss out on is the weekly cap for cortex conversion if you can't can't spare 10 min to do it for the entire week. You miss out on some starchrom; that's it.
The game isn't that grindy compared to other survival games and you keep the most important things: blueprints, mods, and special currencies. You can even blueprint your entire base, so you can easily plop it down next season. Stardust and acid are the grindiest season-exclusive resources in the game. However, if you don't have time to play a lot, then you probably aren't going to amass a big stockpile of those anyway. The game throws a ton at you at the beginning of the season, so it's a complete non-issue. Frankly, I think it's a good thing that those reset, since they end up being used as the main source of currency in the player economy, which is better for players with less time to play, because it mitigates inflation in the long run.
Well there's two things about this, since this is a pretty big concern for a lot of players. The first thing is, just from my personal opinion, this IS a survival game. A majority of the fun of the game comes from starting over from scratch and grinding through over and over again, trying to be more consistent each wipe. This isn't a single player game or an RPG where your goal is to get 100% completion, in fact, if you did complete all of the games content, you'd be bored of it. There's no point in running around in any survival game with broken items, an impossible to raid base, and all of its content completed, there'd be no fun left. So, personally, I'd say that you're maybe just going about it wrong. I'm only 30 hours into this game and already looking forward to the wipe, and I've already restarted once.
Now I totally understand that your fun may be different from my fun, and I get that. But the second thing that you should know is that there is a solution. Once you get to level 20 in game, you can do some optional quests to unlock a mode called "Eternaland" which is basically a server that does not wipe. You can play to your hearts content and never lose any progress, it's permanent.
Just offering a different perspective and a solution. But I hope that you're enjoying the game still, and safe travels.

This is the thing with games these days, alot of people look at the reviews and see one negative and are like "Nah im good". Like considering this game is free to play theres no harm in giving it a go, steam even has a refund system so if a game requires payment u can just simply refund after u try it and u dont like it. Starfield was a great example of this, people were shitting on it before it was even released just cuz of the "Small maps" but once i played and explored planets to get my 100% completion done, i never had issues with running out of map space to explore.

I dropped a negative review on the game, and deleted it as soon as I realized how wrong I was. This game is amazing and everyone has to try it, especially if you have that one friend who likes survival games with missions or story. I have never felt so excited to log in the next day and go to my house again and progress more.
Commenting for the algorithm! I totally agree in what you’re saying, people hear about the wipe and don’t even bother understanding the mechanics of it.
Next season you will be able to bring some items from last season with you, that means strong weapon and armor and you will rush through the early game content, we don’t know what we’re gonna be able to take with us but potentially you could even bring your chainsaw and electric drill with you, if that’s not a possibility, you will already have your digbys and logging beaver thus maximizing your farm from the very beginning.
Oh, and quests you already did will have a shortened version next season, i think they thought it well, can’t wait to see the wipe in action
Touching on the social aspect, they are numerous whispers or messages left behind by other players all around the world especially near dungeon entrances, puzzle areas, chest and loot areas. Saved me so much time by just reading the advice of others who have experienced what you are about to do. There's also random comments but that just adds to the game.
Game just incredible, every town are different it's full of ambient sounds, in forest you hear singing birds, animals which wandering around, in swamps area there running rivers sound, birds etc.
Also there atmosphere just on another level, some of side quests made as storyline quest in other games.
When i was playing and when i head to Arachna and was her presentation before fight oh my gosh those atmosphere in hospital, her singing and then boo her transformation my gf was near and watch with me oh she with screams ran out room)
I hope that with devs be everything good and game be in good spot.
For now there playing every day around 180k, i think it's can call a success.
Two biggest gripes i have with this game are - building snapping, it seems like pieces snap bot to a side of the closest building block, but to it's corner, maybe not, BUT - building a roof is VERY frustratig. Second is vehicle staversal - it's dun for the most part untill you go from a 100 to 0 in a split second and deadstop because the was some random small junk on the road, and i mean small like at best a few mm tall allaround.
Aside from that this game is good and fun! Maybe there is a lot going on the menus, like a lot of tabs and stuff, but then again there is a lot of features and somehow menus don't feel cluttered.
Low spec gamer here. Tried this game and found it pretty awesome and it ran decently on my UHD 730. Quit the game after meeting Mistuko to try and squeeze a little bit more FPS out of it, and upon trying to run it again, I got, "Integrated graphics card not supported." Still sad about it🤧.
I actually didn’t know this was a new channel until the very end when you started talking about your enjoyment for content creation. I’d say keep at it because this felt well made and still light hearted and funny while getting the point across greatly in my opinion, I’d love to see you grow and maybe I’ll find inspiration for things I’d like to do (currently brainstorming ideas for a first video)

Friend made me aware of this game. He had been playing in closed beta and seeing the video of it, although it was cinematic and not really actual gameplay. I was pretty excited and when the game launched we started playing together.
I had godawful input lag and performance. No matter what setting I put it seemed to be locked to 30 FPS and floaty movement lagging made me nauseous. That was day one. It eased off a bit and lag did hit less, mostly in boss areas or busy towns.
As of now, lag is still there but it's not a big problem currently. Game has been so much fun my vacation was spent over 115 hours in the game. There's a few problems I want changed but nothing big, it's worth the battle pass for few decent cosmetics.
I'm not too worried about the extremely short season but think it should be longer. I'm not fully convinced the wipe won't feel like I've lost something. But there's so much fun I can also recommend. Chat has been friendly and helpful. I dislike the randomness of specializations, not getting precious metals for gold and silver or combo chip, you really have to do so much but effort to get energy links.
Biggest problems it's the numerous different type menus for quests, tasks, journey, season, battle pass and the other reward giving things. They should be easier to find in one place, not all over clicking the yellow notices. Love fishing and farming and pokemon gathering. Guns feel good, building with hive and warband is social and easy, although building pieces snapping together it's horrendous.
i deleted thrist decendant because of this game. i love the build progression in this game and the fact that i can from upgrade materials without have to deal with a bullshit drop chance
“Thirst Descendant” actually made me laugh. I agree though! I don’t mind grinding for a god roll in something like Diablo or Borderlands, but grinding for a material and a god roll are two very different things.

My only complaint/worry is that there isn't too much to do. You can wander and do side quests but none are unique enough to come back to lin later seasons. I like this game tho it has pretty solid foundation so far.
*saves house* and then realizes you have to regrind everything you lost to get that house back including everything that requires a bench so you are forced to build a starter house still just to rebuild the old one that got wiped which will get old every 6 weeks. *(Lets also including any electric items you built when you saved the house because all things crafted "work bench" and etc you'll have to grind that again which requires a base to place a furnace to build the materials)* so if you built a house that would require any special builds/materials then have fun grinding 5+ hours getting all that with a basic foundation and thats if you don't have a busy life because it might take longer that way since you might need a steel axe for some of the materials you built just to mine what you need.
Try making a base that’s empty, that way it saves the entire structure and not the electronics or workbenches. Then once it’s saved add the electronics and workbenches back and saved it as a different blueprint. This should help. U can also save single parts and not all of a build

Go to eternaland place your blueprint then copy the blueprint and it won't have the structures and stuff easy fix.

The main issue isn't that that you will have to grind the materials again to remake your house.
But the fact that you will have to re-discover the same island, POI, teleportation marks, sidequests. I personally dont care about the materials or the housing system, I just dont want to have to go again through the same POIs, markers, teleportations every 6 weeks.

@@darthchilde8880 The fact that you believe that they can just make a new story every 2 months makes me sad for you, fr. There's actually another rumor that states there are 3 continents and it will rotate between them each 6 weeks, but nobody ever seen the other 2.
It took them years to get to this point(even with the marketplace assets that technically should've redouced the load by a lot), where not even 5% of the cutscenes are voiced, or correctly displayed or syncronized, but that is just the icing on the turd.
Also, even if its the case, it still doesnt change the fact that the reset will delete all your exploration progress, teleportation, POI, everything. A new story wont make you feel better about re-re-re-re-descovering the same places.
@@brosquito7483 well producing content isnt that hard considering some games alredy do it including warframe ,genshin, also many survival games alredy do it so its not out of norm, inventory management is really good in game so its never about recources or building bases, ppl are genuinely enjoying the game and we will have to wait and see how the players feel after the reset cuz knowing something and experiencing it is completely diffrient things.
I love that you mentioned community. So far everyone I met are super friendly (i do play in PVE so that might be part of the reason) and I love little messages me and my in game neighbours leave to each other from time to time with small jokes like heyyyy sorry was making a cake borrowed some sugar. Its simple little things that create nice friendly enviroment 😁
I love the pvp part, after killing each other in cargo, everybody just act like it's nothing 😅 unlike other games where you see a lot of crybabies 😅

I was a little apprehensive at the 6 week window. Then I realised that the progress I had made over 20 hours as a noob could be made again by me in about an hour or so on a new character. Now I'm not worried about the 6 week window.

I’m enjoying the hell out of it and typically won’t give survival games a chance. Thankfully, my friend challenged me to try it anyhow and I haven’t looked back. Heck, I even dropped some money in it this morning to buy some cosmetics.
I agree, I've sank way too many hours into the game, it's addicting. Biggest issue I have is probably the lags. In most Prime Wars once they start its getting so laggy, I can barely switch weapon or shoot.
Can't forget the launch either that got OH so review bombed because A) Small studio B) Not biggest server funding c) So much traffic on first hour.
Another review bomb because the devs figured to put one character per account limit for the first month, this review bombing was so harsh they allowed one character per server. Still, that got some negative reviews too.
More negative reviews because some real life NPCs couldn't figure out how to edit their character's appearance. (Protip: Build a mirror)
Just my 2 cents, but I've played the game for almost a week and a half now, and I've got 70+ hours combined, at endgame, build semi-optimized, memetics maxed, waiting for my phase 2 to kick in to farm legendary mods. I play games daily, all kinds of games, hard-core gamer here, I can't put this one down. AND ITS FREE LOL
Game crashes frequently, varying between 5 and 30 minutes.
Other than that I don't really have a complaint.
Maybe the fact that F key is the same as reading whispers, which is annoying sometimes, since whispers are everywhere.
In settings you can turn whispers off.
turn whispers off, if you don't have a new gen graphics card then change everything to low, it is what helped me to avoid crashing all the time.
I struggled to get enough resources before the chainsaw and electric drill, and suddenly I had 20k wood that I had no use of, I had to stop grinding some stuff because it clogged up my chests.. I rebuilt my whole house and got an Iron overflow for my ammunition which I used to struggle with. I had an amazing time while leveling up but I wasted soooo much time because I had no clue about how good some upgrades would be. Even the car is awesome, you can drive it out in to nowhere with ammo and a repair station+materials and just farm, farm, farm till the storage chest with 32-62 slots are full, I got the upgrade for 64 slot chests because it was a little messy. It will be fast to restart and come back to where I am today, all blueprints and important account bound resources will be with you in the next season, you just need to farm a little. I am currently rocking the surge shotgun and it is MAD but I really want to try the little SMG with surge and I will probably get that one next season, or a gold sniper. This game is super user friendly as of right now and I have no belief in that the creators of this game would make something as stupid as to make everyone just lose all their time with every season, they will add more stuff to do and hopefully change what happens on the map with every season.
I agree, also I'm kinda excited for the wipe. With survival games I get bored eventually, everything I need is built, I'm confident I can conquer most threats. Not much or any map left to discover. To me the fun of a survival game is discovering the "oh shit how am I going to survive this", once that feeling goes away I'm like hmm guess I'm done. Hopefully the 6 week wipes keep it going. If it is at least new maps to explore every 6 weeks I'm good. As far as Battle passes and the store really I always just ignored them. this is a game were you can 100% go and do fine without buying anything.
I’m at 160 hours and I’m absolutely loving the game. The wipe is unfortunate to me only because of how short it is, 3 months would be perfect to me but ultimately I have no idea what’s coming in the next season so I’m still hyped. If the content is there then I think it’ll be fine as I’m just working on finishing my shrapnel build with all the blueprints. I do worry about casual players though because they won’t be able to get into the game at all as they don’t have enough time to get even close to end game. The only other issues I have is first acid is too difficult to get from drops for how important it is. It’s the only resource that there never seems to be enough of till late end game when you do workshops/silos and stuff. Next, starchrom is too hard to get. I have so many builds that I want to do yet I have to stick to one per season because I’m maxed out and I’ve done everything. I just feel like there needs to be more ways to get it is all. Finally the cosmetics are trash/overpriced, and to get the coolest building stuff in the game making straight glass houses you have to spend 30$. I don’t mind it costing money but it should be 10-15$ max in my opinion. These are just my negatives but again I am absolutely loving tf out of this game. One of the best I’ve ever played and it’s only just the beginning. The devs are very responsive to the community so everything will be hashed out in no time. Crazy that it’s coming to mobile, my initial thoughts on the game were that it feels like a mobile game but after playing for a while I’m more than happy to take that back. Also, as someone whose playing on an ultra wide I do wish the performance was better, I have to go down 2 resolutions and put the render scale at 80% with all low settings so that my cpu/gpu doesn’t get too hot. Watching videos on it people are able to play with such beautiful settings so it’s a shame what I’m missing out on. I don’t even have bad specs either with an rtx 2080, i7-9700k, 32g of ram. Could be better of course but they aren’t outdated by any means.
I'm disabled, and normally miss out on good games. I am really glad I got to start this sooner than later. Wish people would give it a try. It's not PalWorld or Rust. The game is it's own this with elements from those, along with Helldivers team feel for PVE, and other games as well. But that's what makes a good game. Pieces that are put together in a way that tell a New & More Appealing manner. I don't understand... The game literally gave exactly what people Wanted in a Game. Yet, they hate it?! So dummy...

A problem with the review system, is when issues get resolved quickly by the developer but the reviews do not reflect the current state, they linger around waiting to be shifted by more positive reviews (hopefully). I've spent allot of time in this game and its good...when the reset occurs (and I'm curious as to if thats even going to happen given the surveys the developer has sent me...I'm wondering if they are second guessing that mechanic)...that will be the real determining factor if players are going to stay.... but its free, play it out..then uninstall and you will get plenty of entertainment for your time.

I don't have problem with seasonal reset. Most of the progress you've made are kept. And I agree that resources are so easy to get that I now have more than a stack of 1000 of each (except for stardust resource and acid). And with blueprint, while a bit janky to place, I think it's more than enough to quickly get back to where you were before reset.
On that note: House blueprint and base relocation is the best base building mechanics I'd love for every base building game to have.
If you love to build houses and don't want to lose it, you have Ethernaland as well.
If this game snapping point indication and support piece calculation is decent, I would love it even more. (I love snapping indication and support calculation like in Icarus the most from recent games)

The lag when doing public event such as prime war though. That's horrible and need to be fixed fast.

So I am known by my friends for not putting up with invasive anti cheat and there has been games they have gifted me and I download them, launch them and as soon as the window pops up stating they need access blah blah blah I instantly uninstall and refund. I’ve literally been cussed out by friends for this. My point …this game is so fun I made an exception and as far as wipes I’m gonna see what happens the first wipe and go from there …it’s a free game there is nothing to loose but time
The only thing I hate about this game is the wipes even if you save the important items but still have to grind all of those other items back wasting hours upon hours of your life

It sit at mostly positive now, which is right. Its a fun game. Then again its netease. The dev said it clearly they will not add any pay to win element into the game, but the publishers usually would remove people if they wont comply.
I got bored when reaching level 50 with main quest. Other than that beside prime war there isn't much to do. Welp, i guess ill just go play a different game until the wipe and see how it goes. Goodluck everyone!
My base is broken, 9 hrs into the game and suddenly I cant move my territory, access my benches, storage box, anything. Im basically soft locked out of TIME SENSITIVE content. So yeah, they earned my negative review for that one.

A "huge" world map and a six week time limit is super offputting combination.
And for the love of god where the hell did the pokemon come from? The early trailers made this seem like a serious zombie apocalypse/eldritch horror game.
It should be noted apparently the world as far as I could find out is split into 3 sections, and next season (or maybe theyll ride out the pass duration idk) we should be getting the northern end of the map. Ive already seen a ski resort building already prepared on the eastern end.
Game is fun as hell. It respects your time as far as gathering and building. I'll see what the wipes are all about when it happens.

My issue with the game is the performance. I have played Cyberpunk 2077 at Ultra Graphics but I can barely play this on medium. When I get to a new area, I got to wait 2-3 minutes for the server to render everything, which sometimes leaves enemies invisible or just guns and lights floating in the air. Until that gets fixed, this game is a no.

Bruh I've reach lvl 50 and maxed out my tier 5 gear calibrations in just two phases... So 6 week wipe is no problem for me because the game is getting a bit repetitive only because the npc AI is not challenging at all, what we lack is fear to go visit any stronghold that we had in the best mmorpg called durango... Where the challenge it posed was just perfect, it was also a survival mmo just like this game and unique like this one, if you compare them both they're like toe to toe on par but durango still comes out when talking about the challenge we face... So i guess the devs need to make the game more scary and getting a new map and new scenario and new stuff blueprints etc every new season is just loving, we will never get bored, wipe doesn't affect much...
The server full issue; They kicked a lot of botters, exploiters, and hackers as well as increasing the overall server size for every server, as well as adding servers.
an oceanic server would be nice, playing on a pvp server as an aussie its near impossible to kill other players due to high ping and if your ping goes over 300 u get kicked from the server
I tend to be that type of person, who wants to complete everything. Sidequests, Achivments. Basically if there is content, then i'm going to do it until i got all the rewards for doing it (or at least try).
What makes me much less insentivised to play the game, is the fact that I only have soo many hours a day i can play games and there is no way i'm doing everything in 6 weeks. Even PoE, Or even Rust have servers with less wipes.

What I like about this game, is that they don't intend on this game becoming pay to win. Which is very attractive in my opinion.
Yeah well, I still son't like losing the items that I worked hard to obtain. Just imagine; losing your position at your job/career having to restart it from the lowest position. The thing I'm saying is that IT WASTES YOUR TIME.

Honestly I enjoy the game for now and I will see how the game feels with the wipes. I just wish they weren't 6 weeks because I don't see it going well for either players or devs it is just too short. But the server problem still exists. My girlfriend and I needed like 10 minutes to find a server to join together and we started at the same time. If my best friend decides to join there is no way we will ever play together.

I never gave a fuck about overall steam ratings. Since many people dislike a game based on something, I don't give a fuck about. It reminds me of the quote on democracy by Socrates: "Democracy is only as good as the education that surrounds it." Applied to this topic, an uneducated or inexperienced player may hate a certain feature and doesn't know the true purpose of it or flat out judges a game, based on false facts, like the very first one.

Game itself isnt bad. Played it for about 17 hours so far but those wipes every 6 weeks kind of breaks the deal. I dont have that much time to play anymore so i dont want to have my progress reset every 6 weeks. Having to level over and over again is gonna be pain. Im rather gonna play something where i can keep my progress and it doesnt matter how long it takes me to finish it. Reset every 6 weeks basically plays on FOMO and im not willing to participate in that but if you are, good for you and enjoy the game.

Tbh, I subbed as soon as I saw the Sleep Token shirt. I don't even care what content you make at that point, fucking sick shirt dude.
But honestly, I was just talking to my little brother a couple weeks ago about how I wish that there was a GOOD free to play survival game. The only ones on Steam that I could find before this was Muck, which I personally didn't like, or Unturned, which has a horrible multiplayer experience if you're trying to play with friends. And then I found this gem of a game. It's got all of the elements from some of my favorite games of all time, Dark Souls, New World, Rust, Remnant 2, and Palworld. If you stuck all of those games into a blender, you'd get Once Human. And I'm loving every second of it and cannot wait to see how much further the dev team pushes the envelope with this game. Compared to other free games on Steam right now, I just don't see any contest. I would rather play this than Rust, Minecraft, Palworld, or any other top notch, well known survival game, AND IT'S FREE. I could go on and on, I can't praise this game enough. Imo, game of the year. And you hit the nail on the head with everything you debated with the reviews.

Once Human has TWO MAIN PROBLEMS when it really comes down to it. Boil everything down, and these are the ROOT CAUSE of all the angst.
1.) MISCOMMUNICATION / ASSUMPTIONS: Folks aren't aware of all the facts, and drawing some pretty incredible assumptions. Think of it like an MMO "Roguelike" with elements of p[rogression, and it becomes much more palatable, and YES completely agree: farming resources is laughably easy. Ore is literally EVERYWHERE. Folks are getting SUPER carried away.
2.) CONVOLUTED USER INTERFACE: The amount of time it took for me to become comfortable with all the game "currencies" and sub-menus was excessive--MUCH MORE than any other game I've played (well, that's not true; Warframe was pretty bad, too). This is why some things like the "Blueprints" for keeping your house are so critical for correcting expectations.
...The point is, Once Human needs to do a better job of setting expectations and making the UI more intuitive.

3:58 The game puts 2 ENTRIES in startup, they do not link to any actual files though. So nothing runs from those entries.
Finally someone to explain what are these 2 startup files. I was quite hesitant to play it after reading the reviews that say weird files appeared in startup.
The files do not even exist on your device anymore after the game finished installing. It registered themselves as a startup program, presumably by mistake, but there's no execution files that were supposed to be executed. That, or they delete themselves after the installation is finish and the setup is making a cleanup.
I looked everywhere for it and found nothing. Only the register that tell its name (AF_uuid_2139460 and AF_counter_2139460) and where to execute nonexistent program.
I don't know if others managed to find the actual file. However, I have dealt with very nasty trojans and spyware where they can delete themselves every time it detects process viewer and construct themselves back from registry batch execution before. They were used for crypto mine (ofc) and very sneaky, but this is not it.
My speculation is This game is Chinese's, so their games are required by law to track the user device id and how often they play since games are considered an addiction that needs to be monitored in their country (or whatever excuse they use). But these files probably used on their mobile version of the game, maybe it got on to pc games by mistake.

Me and my bf play as well and we've sank about 135 hours into it and I absolutely love it. Am I nervous about the Seasons changing...yes...but I've been thinking as you said as long as my house is able to be rebuilt I believe I can manage the rest. Just kinda ridin it out and seein what happens but regardless what's not to love about this game!? It's new fangled mix of all the games I've known and loved over the years and it's gorrrrrgeoussss.

The game is great. Spent a stupid amount time in it. My only real complaint (other than needing to connect to a new server to play with friends due to limitations) is the PW's. They get real bad lag, and it honestly kills my mood to even attempt them. Spending a ton of resources just to miss a cannon shot because it shoots 2 minutes later. Or trying to dp the boss, and you reload 20x to shoot 5 shots to reload again. Seeing everyone running in place and complaining about everything from building, or simply shooting the boss to "compensate" for the lag. People being bothered by multiple AR users, recommending a completely different build like a sniper build to reduce lag. After season reset, I kinda lost interest.
