For the people talking about ng+. If yall are so far into the game you should understand that you can change your build at any moment in time. Wouldnt be hard for me to switch armor if i needed to.
I rather think what sweat Boys want to say that this build is not so insane,compared to what you will expect on real difficilty(NG+). NG you can go with literally one martial art, i guess that is why they are so Picky
@@jfd4706 you can run any build you want to. wood fire is fine itll give you more martial arts along with being a bit tanky. i think you should try it.
I will say this is ignoring the soft cap for virtues which is around 50 or so for most of them. you'd gain more from putting some points into your weapon's secondary stat which for that staff would be water, which helps you by lower the spirit cost of deflecting. That and theres a haste spell in the water tree that ups movement speed which is super helpful to get in on enemies faster.

5 piece tienzhu with jade staff is the best set for spell builds, u want 43 metal which is the cut off and then do like 50 wood while putting some points into others for different spells and u want to use the staff for the 7-9% more damage to spirit. It’s best for any spell build regardless of lightning or fire
@@masterchief9005 I don’t get one shot I wear light armour for the most part and have no issues, I have damage negation on every piece and it’s perfectly fine, when need more you can use the earth armor spell but should be good to go

I'm doing a fire build and it's so op dude but I'm loving this game so much it's like dynasty warriors , Sekiro and Nioh had a three some and some how had a kid and Wo Long was born. Also pvp is so much fun and so challenging and satisfying.
u can also use lightning enchant on weapon for free lighting stacks and effects or u ddint had it? cause i have it and i dont even need to do weapon imbued with lighting
Side note, incorporate earth spells to accumulate Heaviness debuff in your lighting builds, try using "Imposing Slab" if you like playing up close or "Quakebound" if you enjoy deflecting, enemies under Heaviness become weak against lighting, perfect pairing with lighting weapon.
Out of curiosity, how do you know enemies under Heaviness become weak to lightning? Is there some type of mechanic in game that states that? I'm in the encyclopedia and it says wood has a generative link to fire and a destructive link to earth. So is that why lightning hits harder on earth status enemies because of the destructive link? So by that logic for example, say I'm a water build. Does that mean I should put burn status on enemies and then him them with a water spell because water has a destructive link to fire?
@SolidGoldoni One of the description of Heaviness it says it lowers the enemies lighting resistances, and tested it, and it does, and makes everything weak to lighting

I love the wood build with dual swords. I also put al lot in earth and have a light armor. My weight is around 19% and decorated the armor so It won't look ugly.
Is there no way to put lightning damage on the weapon by the blacksmith? I found a weapon that had fire damage that you can transfer to other weapons, from lightning I still haven't found it.
@DSGaming It's called fire enchant but there is one for all the virtues, just very rare. If you get the lightning one it would allow you to do lightning build up without using the lightning weapon spell.
I picked up the set from Hong Jin Tianzhu Hermit Set, the set bonus are HP +10, Wizardry Spell Spirit Consumption -1.8%, Power Gain Upon Wizardry Spell, Staff Spirit Damage +7.9% I tried to put Wizardry Spell Damage on some pieces, but it was always great out in the list of embedments on chest or legs, that should be able to take it. Why I can't put it, because of the set bonus or because I have not found it yet. Though a saw a gear piece that had that?
it should be in your armor your weight only matters if you if you wanna move quicker and such, if it’s not in your armor selection menu i don’t have an answer sorry
I did a Wood and Metal build but my wood is my highest i did it because I like using the pado sword and staff and so far I'm really loving this build I'm also glad I watch ur video because I got more trips thank you 👍
Are the elemental buffs even worth it I wonder? They seem to last like way too short and especially against some over aggressive boss that throws 6-10 hit chains they often end before I can do enough hits
i’m in ng+ i’m running dark taoist and every piece has lightning damage, accumulation and damage vs shocked. my spells hit for almost 250 depending on the enemy ( 99 wood )
@@Chuckles417 oh im sorry, i was thinking about a dfferent set of swords. yeah if the weapon has good scaling into wood you can switch to them. you just want to make sure the scaling is good so you can get max damage.
I've witnessed NG+, and I'm getting my ass slapped across the boss arenas I fight in. But I'm wearing heavy armor, so I survive. If I were wearing light armor, I DEFINITELY would NOT. So This is a great NG build, but you should look for an armor set that's Medium or Heavy weight. I went and farmed the Soaring Ursine Mace and the Armor of Rampancy just to have a good tanky defense option for NG+ while also staying on the Staff-Wood Virtue build path and OH MY LORD AM I GLAD I DID.
@@DarkSkinGaming This isn’t about switching, that’s a cool feature of course. The problem I’m finding is enough materials to upgrade and try other armour. I guess NG+ will be even worse when having to farm the actual 5* set itself.
@@DarkSkinGaming Yeah, there’s so much more I’d try out if there where more mats kicking around. Weapons not too bad bud armour needing 4 times as much is a no no. I’m hoping later there’s more from disassembling.
the spell duration is still worth since thats what the build is based around. I keep putting points in wood to maximize my build, but if you dont think its as worth you can put points into another virtue.

For lightning damage, you wanna change out that lightning % on your staff for (Attack power (lightning)) where your attack power scales off your lightning attack, thus also increasing your lightning buff since it scales off your base attack + lightning attack

Literally can't go wrong with wood and staff build. Staff is fast and strong and leveling up wood gives you massive health and great buffs and big damage, I put a few points into metal just to help with spirit usage

this is a side area that lets you fight a couple different enemies. also keep in mind my lightning was shocking them so they got staggered. that on top of the deflect maxing out there spirit. they dont have much time to move.

you gotta remember that wood gives you the most hp out of all the virtures and it also gives you spirit defense. that along with upgrading your armor it being light weight doesnt matter. i havent had any problems with bosses.
@@sloth9210 Don't forget that you have to be above 75% health to survive an Unblockable. Otherwise, Heavy armor ain't gonna save your ass for crap either. The real secret is to just become a Deflect God.
All wood virtue with no earth is literally pointless. You will only get to equip light armor and be one shot in ng plus. Also in my experience helping many other players get past bosses, most aren't even skilled enough to go that route

I think the weapons in this game they so generic-looking I was hoping to give his cool looking weapons like Noah 2 but it's okay this game is good I wish you had Transformations have a staff turn into Wukong I know one of these DLCs are going to be something to do with Wukong they cannot miss that opportunity

I was going to do this but then watching videos and reading how unless you are flawless in every critical attack counter, you will get one shot in NG+

Yes you can start building this from the very start of the game. And it's really good because it transitions into late game.

being overweight doesnt stop you from getting outfits. so you should still be able to get it.

You really want the Monkey's Wisdom martial art on there. Its what i use with this build and its the best in the game

Putting 10 point into metal gives you the best ratio of reduce spirit consumption on spells. After 10 you hit diminishing returns real hard.
